Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) are acknowledged as vulnerable to adversarial attacks, while the existing black-box attacks require extensive queries on the victim DNN to achieve high success rates. For query-efficiency, surrogate models of the victim are used to generate transferable Adversarial Examples (AEs) because of their Gradient Similarity (GS), i.e., surrogates’ attack gradients are similar to the victim’s ones. However, it is generally neglected to exploit their similarity on outputs, namely the Prediction Similarity (PS), to filter out inefficient queries by surrogates without querying the victim. To jointly utilize and also optimize surrogates’ GS and PS, we develop QueryNet, a unified attack framework that can significantly reduce queries. QueryNet creatively attacks by multi-identity surrogates, i.e., crafts several AEs for one sample by different surrogates, and also uses surrogates to decide on the most promising AE for the query. After that, the victim’s query feedback is accumulated to optimize not only surrogates’ parameters but also their architectures, enhancing both the GS and the PS. Although QueryNet has no access to pre-trained surrogates’ prior, it reduces queries by averagely about an order of magnitude compared to alternatives within an acceptable time, according to our comprehensive experiments: 11 victims (including two commercial models) on MNIST/CIFAR10/ImageNet, allowing only 8-bit image queries, and no access to the victim’s training data. Federated learning protects data privacy and security by exchanging models instead of data. However, unbalanced data distributions among participating clients compromise the accuracy and convergence speed of federated learning algorithms. To alleviate this problem, unlike previous studies that limit the distance of updates for local models, we propose global-update-guided federated learning (FedGG), which introduces a model-cosine loss into local objective functions, so that local models can fit local data distributions under the guidance of update directions of global models. Furthermore, considering that the update direction of a global model is informative in the early stage of training, we propose adaptive loss weights based on the update distances of local models. Numerical simulations show that, compared with other advanced algorithms, FedGG has a significant improvement on model convergence accuracies and speeds. Additionally, compared with traditional fixed loss weights, adaptive loss weights enable our algorithm to be more stable and easier to implement in practice. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. In this paper, a distributed MPC algorithm is proposed for linear discrete systems with bounded communication noise and random communication failure. Based on the characteristics of time-varying directed graphs, the convergence of the algorithm is analyzed in the case of communication noise and random communication failure. This algorithm uses the distributed projection dual subgradient algorithm to solve the dual problem and replaces the double stochastic condition of the traditional algorithm with row stochastic condition. The exponential stability of the system is guaranteed. Finally, an example is given to illustrate the performance of the algorithm.

Model-free False Data Injection Attack in Networked control systems: A Feedback Optimization Approach

Security issues have gathered growing interest within the control systems community, as physical components and communication networks are increasingly vulnerable to cyber attacks. In this context, recent literature has studied increasingly sophisticated false data injection attacks, with the aim to design mitigative measures that improve the systems’ security. Notably, data-driven attack strategies – whereby the system dynamics is oblivious to the adversary – have received increasing attention. However, many of the existing works on the topic rely on the implicit assumption of linear system dynamics, significantly limiting their scope. Contrary to that, in this work we design and analyze truly model-free false data injection attack that applies to general linear and nonlinear systems. More specifically, we aim at designing an injected signal that steers the output of the system toward a (maliciously chosen) trajectory. We do so by designing a zeroth-order feedback optimization policy and jointly use probing signals for real-time measurements. We then characterize the quality of the proposed model-free attack through its optimality gap, which is affected by the dimensions of the attack signal, the number of iterations performed, and the convergence rate of the system. Finally, we extend the proposed attack scheme to the systems with internal noise. Extensive simulations show the effectiveness of the proposed attack scheme. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. This paper establishes the non-Fourier heat conduction model to describe the heat transfer process of mono-crystalline silicon under the condition of unstable thermal field and thermal shock in the Czochralski method.A novel differential equations solver called Physics-Informed Neural Networks（PINN） algorithm was *** with finite element method（FEM）,this method has some advantages like no grid requirement and easily *** order to deal with the unbalance of constraint condition and speed up the convergence,we propose a novel method called Self-Adaptive Weight Physics-Informed Neural Networks（SWPINN）.The comparison of the experimental results of SWPINN and COMSOL verifies the effectiveness of *** modifying the parameter of non-Fourier heat conduction model,this paper obtains the temperature distribution under different heat relaxation ***,comparison between SWPINN and PINN shows that the proposed method has faster convergence speed and higher accuracy.

Differentially Private Distributed Mismatch Tracking Algorithm for Constraint-Coupled Resource Allocation Problems

This paper considers privacy-concerned distributed constraint-coupled resource allocation problems over an undirected network, where each agent holds a private cost function and obtains the solution via only local communication. With privacy concerns, we mask the exchanged information with independent Laplace noise against a potential attacker with potential access to all network communications. We propose a differentially private distributed mismatch tracking algorithm (diff-DMAC) to achieve cost-optimal distribution of resources while preserving privacy. Adopting constant stepsizes, the linear convergence property of diff-DMAC in mean square is established under the standard assumptions of Lipschitz gradients and strong convexity. Moreover, it is theoretically proven that the proposed algorithm is t-differentially private. And we also show the trade-off between convergence accuracy and privacy level. The tractor-trailer vehicle is a typical model of unmanned logistics vehicle in factories. The reverse movement of tractor-trailer vehicles is open-loop unstable, which limits its scope of use. In this paper, a practical tractor-trailer vehicle system is designed to realize the automatic reverse path-tracking task for unmanned tractor-trailer logistics vehicles. Firstly, an estimation system based on a single-line LiDAR is designed to measure the link angle. Then, a tracking system based on a cascade control is designed to track the reverse path accurately. Finally, the entire system is configured on a real tractor-trailer vehicle. The experimental results of the real tractor-trailer vehicle show that the system can track any reverse path that meets the kinematic constraints. And the mean absolute error (MAE) of the tracking path is within 25cm after the system is stabilized.

Energy consumption prediction plays a crucial role in green manufacturing for industry, providing a theoretical foundation for energy-saving planning, workshop scheduling, and process optimization. However, owing to the processing complexity of mechanical products and the multiplicity of production information, previous methods can only achieve prediction for individual devices, which are quite restrictive to collaborative manufacturing planning. To deal with product-level energy management, this paper first proposes a heterogeneous manufacturing association graph (HetMG) which contains various manufacturing elements including product projects, decomposed orders and processing devices. Then, with HetMG, an energy consumption prediction method, HetEP, is introduced based on heterogeneous graph neural network (GNN), which incorporates Relational Graph Convolutional Networks (R-GCNs), and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) to mine the spatial-temporal relation of heterogeneous elements during the manufacturing process. Moreover, Graph Attention Network (GAT) is utilized in HetEP to adaptively learn the graph-structured data so that informative representations of each element can be obtained. The experimental results based on a manufacturing dataset from a generator factory demonstrate that the proposed HetEP yields superior prediction performance compared to the device-oriented prediction methods in terms of prediction accuracy.

Differential Private Discrete Noise Adding Mechanism: Conditions, Properties and Optimization

Differential privacy is a standard framework to quantify the privacy loss in the data anonymization process. To preserve differential privacy, a random noise adding mechanism is widely adopted, where the trade-off between data privacy level and data utility is of great concern. The privacy and utility properties for the continuous noise adding mechanism have been well studied. However, the related works are insufficient for the discrete random mechanism on discretely distributed data, e.g., traffic data, health records. This paper focuses on the discrete random noise adding mechanisms. We study the basic differential privacy conditions and properties for the general discrete random mechanisms, as well as the trade-off between data privacy and data utility. Specifically, we derive a sufficient and necessary condition for discrete ∊-differential privacy and a sufficient condition for discrete (∊, δ)-differential privacy, with the numerical estimation of differential privacy parameters. These conditions can be applied to analyze the differential privacy properties for the discrete noise adding mechanisms with various kinds of noises. Then, with the differential privacy guarantees, we propose an optimal discrete ∊-differential private noise adding mechanism under the utility-maximization framework, where the utility is characterized by the similarity of the statistical properties between the mechanism's input and output. For this setup, we find that the class of the discrete noise probability distributions in the optimal mechanism is Staircase-shaped. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Virtual Reality is an important development direction in recent years. Minecraft, a popular sandbox game, has a great potential to become a virtual reality platform for building immersive environments. Traditional methods of building virtual reality scenes rely heavily on massive human labors and require high levels of proficiency. To address these limitations, we propose an automatic, voxelated 3D modeling method with foreground and background environment segmented that can reduce modeling costs and achieve effective application in Minecraft virtual reality scenes such as virtual campuses. The proposed method leverages the use of point cloud reconstruction using a voxelization approach. A pipeline of converting point cloud to Minecraft scene is developed. Through preprocessing, segmenting, coloring, and exporting, a Minecraft virtual reality scene can be automatically generated based on voxel point cloud. Due to the noise in point cloud may cause defect during voxelization, a denoising and smoothing method using slice scanning and voxel connectivity segmentation has been implemented. It can generate building structures with clear outlines and uniform colors. And the entire process requires low computational complexity and achieves fast generation. We conducted experiments based on this method in indoor scenes, outdoor building landmarks, and complex underground scenes, and obtained results with clear structures and smooth surfaces, saving a lot of time for subsequent detailed modeling. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
