This paper investigates the problems of H8 consensus control for high-order fully actuated multi-agent systems (HOFAMASs) with external disturbances. By utilizing the characteristics of high-order fully actuated systems (HOFASs), the distributed control protocols are designed, eliminating all nonlinear characteristics of open loop systems while establishing new closed-loop dynamic characteristics. Then, the H8 consensus problems of HOFAMASs are addressed. The corresponding parameters to be designed in the distributed control protocols are given by using linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). A novel multi-spacecraft attitude model is proposed based on HOFASs. An illustrative example of the multi-spacecraft attitude model is given, in order to demonstrate the effectiveness and application of the results proposed in this paper. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents an event-based asymptotic tracking control scheme designed for strict feedback systems with unknown control directions. The control directions directly determine how the controller acts on the system, thus impacting the system's stability and convergence speed. When the control directions are unknown, it presents a significant challenge in controller design. To tackle this issue, the Nussbaum-type gains are introduced. However, this method increases communication overhead. Hence, an event-triggered mechanism is introduced to alleviate this burden. Additionally, to achieve and maintain desired target states, satisfying control requirements and performance demands, this paper improves the event-triggered mechanism to achieve asymptotic tracking. Finally, the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed design are validated through a simulation example. © 2024 Asian control Association.

Both coordination, a behavioral pattern where individuals adopt the same behavior as the majority, and anticoordination, a behavioral pattern where individuals choose a behavior different from the majority, are prevalent in social and engineering scenarios. Examples include the spread of social norms or innovations for coordination and the division of labor and traffic congestion for anti-coordination. Exploring the large-scale interacting systems driven by coordination and anticoordination is of great significance in understanding, predicting, and optimizing the evolutionary outcomes. While existing studies have primarily focused on analyzing the convergence of networked systems and evaluating the time to reach equilibrium, our investigation delves into all possible states of a networked system and scrutinizes all equilibrium states. Notably, we observe that the number of equilibrium states increases exponentially with the network size. Accounting for network structure properties, homogeneous networks exhibit more equilibrium states than heterogeneous networks. Furthermore, for specific behavioral switching thresholds, the number of equilibrium states is surprisingly higher than at neighboring switching thresholds. Our work reveals the intricate interplay between evolutionary dynamics, system structure, and behavioral switching thresholds. © 2024 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

A terahertz refractive index sensor constructed with graphene metamaterial absorber has been proposed. The sensor features a patterned graphene structure, consisting of an independent circular ring and a special structure formed by intersecting cross and square patterns. Under normal incidence of TM and TE polarized light, the sensor exhibits a low-frequency peak at 1.55 THz with maximum absorption rates of 9 9. 4 5% and a high-frequency peak at 3.83 THz with maximum absorption rates of 9 9. 5 0%. The quality factors (Q factor) of the two peaks are 31 and 65, respectively. Unlike traditional metal sensors, the absorption peaks of this sensor can achieve dynamic tunability through adjusting the graphene's Fermi level. By varying the analyte's thickness and refractive index, the maximum sensitivity of the two absorption peaks can reach 495 GHz RIU and 895 GHz/ RIU. The corresponding figures of merit (FOM) are 9.9 and 15.2, respectively. The sensor proposed here are applied to detect hemoglobin biomolecule content and has shown excellent sensing performance in our simulations. Therefore, the present work has broad potential for applications in biomedical and medical diagnostic fields. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, the problem of model reduction for Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems is studied. The virtual inner disturbance is first constructed to map a potential link between the states of two systems before and after dimensionality reduction. Based on Lyapunov theorem, the H∞ approach is then used to analyze the augmented system with the inner disturbance. The results are unrelated to reduced-order system membership functions (MFs), which can be freely selected. Furthermore, both the number of rules and the size of the reduced-order system and the inner disturbance may be flexibly chosen. An example is adapted to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method. © 2022 IEEE.

Terahertz (THz) technology has become a new trend in various fields due to its high penetration and harmlessness towards human body and objects. The object detection of concealed and hidden objects based on THz images is of great significance for ensuring public safety. However, the poor quality of original THz images leads to insufficient accuracy in target detection. Therefore, it is necessary to preprocess the images before performing object detection. In this work, in order to investigate the impact of different pre-processing methods on object detection using images, we adopt two methods, namely non-local mean (NLM) filtering and histogram equalization (HE). After pre-processing, YOLOv7 algorithm is used to perform object detection based on the preprocessed THz images. The experimental results show that YOLOv7 achieves highest recognition accuracy on NLM filtered THz images. The experimental results presented in this work provide a reference to select image processing method for performing concealed object detection based on THz images. © COPYRIGHT SPIE. This work presents an adaptive tracking guidance method for robotic fishes. The scheme enables robots to suppress external interference and eliminate motion jitter. An adaptive integral surge line-of-sight guidance rule is designed to eliminate dynamics interference and sideslip issues. Limited-time yaw and surge speed observers are reported to fit disturbance variables in the model. The approximation values can compensate for the system's control input and improve the robots' tracking ***, this work develops a terminal sliding mode controller and third-order differential processor to determine the rotational torque and reduce the robots' run jitter. Then, Lyapunov's theory proves the uniform ultimate boundedness of the proposed method. Simulation and physical experiments confirm that the technology improves the tracking error convergence speed and stability of robotic fishes.

Infrared detection technology has the advantages of all-weather detection and good concealment,which is widely used in long-distance target detection and tracking ***,the complex background,the strong noise,and the characteristics of small scale and weak intensity of targets bring great difficulties to the detection of infrared small targets.A multi-channel based on attention network is proposed in this paper,aimed at the problem of high missed detection rate and false alarm rate of traditional algorithms and the problem of large model,high complexity and poor detection performance of deep learning ***,given the difficulty in extracting the features of infrared multiscale and small dim targets,the multiple channels are designed based on dilated convolution to capture multiscale target ***,the coordinate attention block is incorporated in each channel to suppress background clutters adaptively and enhance target *** addition,the fusion of shallow detail features and deep abstract semantic features is realized by synthesizing the contextual attention fusion ***,it is verified that,compared with other state-of-the-art methods based on the datasets SIRST and MDFA,the proposed algorithm further improves the detection effect,and the model size and computational complexity are smaller.

The scattering media measurement for structured light techniques remains challenging due to the subsurface scattering that destroys fringe patterns and introduces phase error. Recently, deep learning has been successfully applied to fringe analysis. Unfortunately, collecting a large scale of labeled data is difficult, especially in scattering media measurement scenarios. Inspired by image style transfer, we proposed a high-precision scattering medium measurement method based on self-supervised fringe domain transformation. Specifically, by treating degraded fringe and ideal fringe as two pattern styles, a cycle generation strategy is developed to achieve fringe enhancement by translating between two fringe domains. Two generators and two discriminators are used to form cycle-consistency constraints for self-supervised learning with unpaired dataset. Additionally, we combine numerical and physical constraints to jointly optimize network parameters, effectively suppressing phase-shift errors and improving phase quality. Since the proposed approach eliminates the need for label data, it exhibits great potential for applying deep learning to scattering medium measurement. Experiments verify that our method can obtain high-quality 3D morphology of translucent objects. © 2025 SPIE.
