Co-design of control and communication is critical to enhancing the control performance of industrial Cyber-Physical system (ICPS). However, the stochastic features of non-deterministic communication strategies in existing works limit control performance improvement. This paper proposes a centralized-control and deterministic-transmission co-design architecture for multi-subsystem ICPS over Time-Sensitive Network (TSN). Packet-wise no-wait transmission scheduling is devised to enable fine-grained scheduling for deterministic delays of the control system data. An integrated system model for the co-design architecture is constructed by integrating scheduling variables into the control system model, which enables simultaneous optimization of the control and transmission strategies for improving the feasible solution space and control performance. Co-design problem based on the integrated model is formulated as mixed-integer non-linear programming (MINLP) problem. A Tabu-search-based heuristic algorithm is proposed to obtain near-optimal solutions efficiently for the co-design problem. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method effectively improves control performance compared with best-effort transmission without co-design. © 2022 IEEE.

With the pervasive integration of artificial intelligence into all aspects of human life, talent emerges as a primary resource. Upon analysing the current state of talent training in higher education institutions, issues such as dispersed knowledge points, overlapping content, a singular practice approach and ineffective evaluation have been identified. In response to these challenges, this paper proposes a multidisciplinary and comprehensive practical teaching methodology grounded in the knowledge graph framework. It delves into diverse paths for practical teaching and assessment, including aspects like teaching objectives, problem decomposition, resource integration, implementation methods and performance evaluation. The practical application of the SSD algorithm in researching service robot indoor object detection serves as an illustrative example. Employing the holistic practical teaching approach facilitated by the knowledge graph, this model guides students in acquiring object detection expertise, thereby enhancing their comprehensive development. Due to the large uncertainty in the municipal solid waste incineration(MSWI)process,the furnace temperature of the MSWI process is difficult to control and the controller is updated *** improve the accuracy and reduce the number of controller updates,a novel event-triggered control method based correntropy self-organizing TS fuzzy neural network(ETCSTSFNN)is ***,the neurons of the rule layer are grown or pruned adaptively based on activation intensity and control error to meet the dynamic change of the actual operating ***,the performance index is designed based on the correntropy of tracking errors,and the parameters of the controller are adjusted by gradient descent ***,a fixed threshold event-triggered condition is designed to determine whether the current controller is updated or *** stability of the control system is proved based on the Lyapunov stability ***,the furnace temperature control experiments are conducted based on the actual data of a municipal solid waste incineration plant in *** experimental results show that the proposed ET-CSTSFNN controller shows a better control performance,which can reduce the number of the controller update significantly while achieving accurate furnace temperature control compared with other traditional control methods.

The problem of insignificant image features and poor image quality in the acquisition of terahertz spectral images of unsound wheat. Therefore, this study proposed the FFDNet-VGG terahertz image enhancement algorithm based on the FFDNet denoising algorithm and VGG feature extraction algorithm. The experimental results showed that this algorithm could effectively improve the image quality compared with the traditional algorithms such as BM3D and WNNM, and the PSNR and SSIM of the enhanced images were 39.10 dB and 0.93, respectively. The wheat unsound grain images processed by FFDNet, VGG and FFDNet-VGG algorithms were verified by CNN classification network with the classification accuracy of 93.1% and 93.7%, respectively. FFDNet-VGG effectively enhances the wheat unsound grain terahertz spectral images. © 2022 SPIE.

Model predictive control with input disturbance and guaranteed Lyapunov stability for controller approximation

An approximation method that can lower the computational complexity is presented to reduce the processing time of model predictive control(MPC). The effects of the inaccurate inputs, which are caused by the approximation errors, are reflected as input disturbances and are considered in the design of the controller. The closed-loop system's stability is guaranteed by a restricted Lyapunov-based constraint and input constraints, ensuring that the states will be eventually bounded at a certain confidence *** to this paper, the effects of the bounded disturbance can be observed via a change in the stability region. The relationship between the regions of the normal and approximated systems is highlighted. The proposed MPC with input disturbance and guaranteed Lyapunov stability is employed in a chemical process,and the simulation results indicate the efficiency of the proposed method.

Analysis of On-policy Policy Gradient Methods under the Distribution Mismatch

Policy gradient methods are one of the most successful methods for solving challenging reinforcement learning problems. However, despite their empirical successes, many SOTA policy gradient algorithms for discounted problems deviate from the theoretical policy gradient theorem due to the existence of a distribution mismatch. In this work, we analyze the impact of this mismatch on the policy gradient methods. Specifically, we first show that in the case of tabular parameterizations, the methods under the mismatch remain globally optimal. Then, we extend this analysis to more general parameterizations by leveraging the theory of biased stochastic gradient descent. Our findings offer new insights into the robustness of policy gradient methods as well as the gap between theoretical foundations and practical implementations. © 2025, CC BY.

Accurate vehicle localization is a key technology for autonomous driving tasks in indoor parking lots,such as automated valet ***,infrastructure-based cooperative driving systems have become a means to realizing intelligent *** this paper,we propose a novel and practical vehicle localization system using infrastructure-based RGB-D cameras for indoor parking *** the proposed system,we design a depth data preprocessing method with both simplicity and efficiency to reduce the computational burden resulting from a large amount of ***,the hardware synchronization for all cameras in the sensor network is not implemented owing to the disadvantage that it is extremely cumbersome and would significantly reduce the scalability of our system in mass ***,to address the problem of data distortion accompanying vehicle motion,we propose a vehicle localization method by performing template point cloud registration in distributed depth ***,a complete hardware system was built to verify the feasibility of our solution in a real-world *** in an indoor parking lot demonstrated the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed vehicle localization system,with a maximum root mean squared error of 5 cm at 15Hz compared with the ground truth.

Due to its high degree of customization, DNA origami provides a versatile platform with which to engineer nanoscale structures and devices. Reconfigurable nanodevices driven by DNA strand displacement accomplish the task of transition between different conformations, endowing DNA origami with application values. Herein, we propose a strategy to regulate the conformation of DNA origami using the polymerase-triggered DNA strand displacement (PTSD) reaction. We design a book-shaped DNA origami structure consisting of four pages connected into a cuboid shape. The PTSD reactions initiated by different primer strands selectively remove the connecting strand, transforming the nano book into a two-page or a four-page conformation. We utilize three primer strands to remove thirty-five connecting strands and construct three conformations of the identical DNA origami, illustrating that the PTSD reaction is an effective tool for the reconfiguration of DNA origami. The statistical results of TEM images prove the effectiveness of the proposed method. Our work on the development of PTSD-driven reconfigurable nanostructure will offer a new way to create intelligent materials for advanced nanotechnology applications. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In this paper, the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system as the contributor of building climate management is studied on multi-zone climate dynamics modelling and control for occupancy comfort. The first-principles model together with data-driven model as the hybrid model is proposed for comprehensive multi-zone hygro-thermal dynamics. The unmodeled climate dynamics such as unknown nonlinearity and uncertainty is modeled in a linear form based on the compact form dynamic linearization (CFDL) method. Then model free adaptive control (MFAC) scheme including controller design and parameter estimation is proposed to realize multi-zone climate control and occupancy comfort. The dynamic response performance of the hybrid model-based adaptive control and the first-principles model-based adaptive control has been tested in a multi-zone building with four different zones. The results show that the proposed hybrid model-based adaptive control scheme can achieve obvious performance improvement in minimizing steady-state error. © 2022 IEEE.

The coarse pointing assembly (CPA), as the outer loop of the laser terminal, its tracking stability is the basis for ensuring laser communication. This paper presents the model of the CPA. Aiming at the disturbance factors in the low-speed operation process of the CPA, an active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) method for the position loop of the CPA is designed based on the generalized proportional integral observer (GPIO) to achieve disturbance compensation control. Finally, simulations are carried out on the system model. The simulation results show that compared with the PID control strategy adopted, the proposed ADRC strategy based on GPIO of the CPA can effectively improve the tracking accuracy. © 2024 IEEE.
