This paper proposes a novel online-learning-enabled hierarchical distributionally robust energy management framework for multi-microgrids (MMGs) with off-site hydrogen refueling stations (HRSs). The proposed framework integrates day-ahead scheduling, intra-day rescheduling and real-time control. The day-ahead scheduling is implemented via a central energy management system for optimal joint scheduling of the MMG systems and off-site HRSs, then the intra-day rescheduling is carried out to optimize the real-time operation and to generate the reference for local controllers. To adequately characterize the statistical properties of renewable and load uncertainties from data streams, we leverage a Dirichlet process mixture model to construct an online-update ambiguity set, which encodes multimodality and local moment information. Based upon this ambiguity set, an online-learning distributionally robust model predictive control (OL-DRMPC) is developed to enhance the tracking performance of energy storage references and to reduce conservatism while guaranteeing probabilistic operational constraints. Its effectiveness is verified in a case study. © 2022 IEEE.

In recent years, the design of anomaly detectors has attracted a tremendous surge of interest due to security issues in industrial control systems (ICS). Restricted by hardware resources, most anomaly detectors can only be deployed at the remote monitoring ends, far away from the control sites, which brings potential threats to anomaly detection. In this paper, we propose an active real-time anomaly detection framework deployed in the controller of OpenPLC, which is a standardized open-source PLC and has high scalability. Specifically, we add adaptive active noises to control signals, and then identify a linear dynamic system model of the plant offline and implement it in the controller. Finally, we design two filters to process the estimated residuals based on the obtained model and use χ2 detector for anomaly detection. Extensive experiments are conducted on an industrial control virtual platform to show the effectiveness of the proposed detection framework. © 2022 IEEE.

Silicon content control is critical to ensure the quality of molten iron and the stable operation of the blast furnace. The complex reactions and large uncertainty of the blast furnace make it hard to control. Several predictive control-based methods were already studied in Silicon content control. However, the requirements of prediction model design and short predictive horizon limit the generalization and long-term optimization of the methods. To tackle these issues, we propose a deep double Q-learning (DDQN) and intrinsic curiosity module (ICM) based Silicon content control method. First, the deep Q-learning framework employed in our approach eliminates the need for a prediction model and supports long-range simulations, thereby enhancing algorithm generalization and long-term optimization capabilities. Second, DDQN and ICM help to avoid the over-optimistic of action taking and improve exploration efficiency to tackle the large uncertainty of the blast furnace. Third, to ensure operational safety, we have designed a regulation strategy that incorporates ε-greedy exploration and ICM, mitigating the risks posed by exploration actions. Finally, we validate the effectiveness of our method using on-site data, demonstrating that DDQN-ICM achieves superior performance in terms of tracking accuracy and disturbance rejection.

Sintering proportion optimization plays a crucial role in determining the final product quality of sintered iron ore. However, the traditional approach of separating the optimization processes between the procurement and technical departments often fails to achieve the global optimum. In this paper, We propose a joint optimization approach for sintering proportioning based on digital twin (DT) technology. To tackle the complex constraints of this joint optimization problem, we develop a multiple improved whale optimization algorithm (MIWOA) that overcomes the issue of getting trapped in local optima. The proposed MIWOA incorporates three strategies, including a nonlinear convergence factor, Levy flight, and Gaussian mutation. Besides, the numerical simulations are conducted in order to analyze the influence of the convergence factors. Finally, various related approaches for sintering proportioning optimization are tested, and DT-based MIWOA achieved the best performance.

This paper investigates a leader-following consensus problem for high-order linear multi-agent systems under a directed graph topology, containing a spanning tree. It is supposed that each agent can obtain full state of itself and receive its neighbors' state with noises, where the intensities of noises are vector functions of relative states of agents. To achieve leader-following consensus in this scene, a consensus protocol is designed, where the gain matrix is obtained by the algebraic Riccati equation and the coupling strength should be restricted in a given interval. Specifically, the lower bound of the interval ensures the consensus and the upper bound of the interval is devoted to limit the effects of noises, then the designed protocol could attenuate the noises while driving the multi-agent systems to consensus. Finally, a simulation example is given to show the correctness of the proposed results. © 2022 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

Cochlear implant surgery is one of the most challenging surgeries due to the limited workspace and delicate inner structure. A traditional electrode implant instrument is a passive elastic forceps, which needs another forceps to help grip or release the electrode. It is not convenient to achieve delicate operations in a confined space. This paper develops a miniaturized pneumatic electrode gripper at the tip of forceps to achieve active gripping. It transmits the pressurized air through 3D-printed inner lumens to form two inflated soft bubbles to push the electrode to the rigid shell for accurate positioning. The finite element analysis is carried out to evaluate the shape of inflated soft bubbles with variable soft films. A prototype of a gripper with inner tortuous airways is fabricated using micro 3D printing technique, and experiments are carried out to validate its accuracy and demonstrate its ability to grip and release. Finally, robotic teleoperation using a robotic arm and a joystick is implemented for cochlear implant surgery. Results demonstrate that the developed miniaturized pneumatic gripper has successfully achieved electrode implantation in a 3D-printed cochlear phantom. © 2022 IEEE.

In the modern battlefield, traditional guidance law like PNG can’t meet the needs of specific tasks. In this paper, we take terminal angle and flight time into consideration. Firstly, we use optimal control to satisfy impact angle requirement. Then, flight time error is designed to control impact time. Consider large errors caused by using the traditional estimator of time-to-go to attack maneuvering target, an improved time-to-go estimator is designed. Formation control is a widely performed task in multi-agent systems. However, agents under formation control are susceptible to attacks, and how to defend against the attack is important for system security. This paper aims to design a new method to protect the system from prediction-based displacement attack, which predicts the movement of agents, diverts them from their original tracks and drives them to a preset trap. The defense is challenging due to the robustness of the attacker's prediction mechanism. Also, undermining the attack can be costly and harm the system's performance. To address this issue, we first build obstacle-avoidance and formation control models of the holonomic and non-holonomic agents and specify the prediction-based attacks to limit the cases where the defense strategy can be effective. Then, we propose a learning-based defense strategy, which learns the prediction mechanism of the attackers. It modifies the control input based on self-adaptive fuzzy methods to reduce prediction accuracy and guarantee that the agents can reach the goal. Simulation results demonstrate that our method is better than the previous noise-based one at reducing the accuracy of the attacker's prediction.
