Minimizing Data Collection Latency for Coexisting Time-Critical Wireless Networks with Tree Topologies

Time-Critical Wireless Network (TCWN) is a promising communication technology that can satisfy the low latency, high reliability, and deterministic requirements of mission-critical applications. Multiple TCWNs required by various applications inevitably coexist with each other. Most existing works aim to achieve acceptable latency or consider the simplest topology (i.e., line topology). As latency requirements become more stringent, exploring the minimum data collection latency becomes an interesting problem. In this paper, the coexisting system consists of multiple tree-topology-based TCWNs. We first establish a conversion framework to convert an arbitrary tree topology into multiple analogous line topologies to reduce the analysis complexity. We then propose a Time-Critical wireless network Scheduling (TCS) algorithm to minimize the data collection latency of coexisting TCWNs. The TCS algorithm consists of two phases. In the internetwork scheduling phase, we strictly derive a general expression to characterize the practical network requirements. In the intranetwork scheduling phase, we design two levels of priority assignment algorithms to accurately characterize the critical states and resource requirements of different nodes. We conduct extensive simulations to verify the effectiveness of the TCS algorithm. The evaluation results show that the TCS algorithm can achieve minimum data collection latency in more than 99.956% cases, and the maximum difference compared to the optimal value is one time slot. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

Based on the construction requirements of the "Emerging Engineering"major in intelligent manufacturing engineering and the characteristics of interdisciplinary integration, the cultivation of high-quality interdisciplinary talents has been established as the primary objective. By coordinating multiple on-campus and off-campus resources and fostering cohesion within the entire discipline supervisor team, the "academic supervisor system"training mode has been established, and the continuous training mechanism for "undergraduate and master's"programs has been effectively developed. Additionally, school-enterprise collaborations have been implemented, and practical bases have been successfully established. With the support of the entire discipline supervisor team and the closed-loop integrated laboratory, the practical teaching system characterized by cross-integration and systematic progression has been developed at our university. By creating a step-by-step, planned, and systematic practical course system, the issues of standardization, randomization, and fragmentation within practical courses have been effectively resolved. Through the integration of project-based courses and school-enterprise co-constructed courses, students' innovative abilities are further enhanced. It then describes the design and implementation methods of major design, and analyzes its practical effects. Air Pollution Monitoring By Integrating Local and Global Information in Self-Adaptive Multiscale Transform Domain

As the deadliest form of pollution, air pollution had a prolonged severe damage to the human health and life safety of nearly 99% of the world's population. Facing to the problem that billions of tons of pollutants discharged into the air per year by industrial activities, this paper proposed a novel image-based air pollution monitor (IAPM) by incorporating local and global information in the self-adaptive multiscale transform domain, so as to achieve the timely and effective leakage detection of typical air pollutants from a single image. To be specific, this paper first developed a screen-shaped module according to two significant findings in visual neuroscience, which include the high sensitivity of human eyes to horizontal and vertical stimuli and the center-surround inhibition, by designing and fusing the square module, horizontal strip module and vertical strip module parallelly for simulating the behaviour of human eyes to extract local features. Second, the learnable weights and proportional mapping were applied to incorporate the screen-shaped module and lightweight vision transformer as backbone, towards more richly exploiting and fusing local and global information just as the way a brain perceives external stimuli. Third, a new self-adaptive multiscale transform domain method was devised based on two motivations from the visual characteristics of multiscale perception and the brain characteristics of self-adaptive domain transform to modify the backbone by using the operations of pooling and pointwise convolution. Extensive experiments implemented on the datasets of carbon particulate matters and ethylene leakage confirmed the superior monitoring performance of the proposed IAPM model beyond the state-of-the-art (SOTA) peers by an accuracy gain of about 4%. Furthermore, the proposed IAPM model only required 0.089 GFLOPs and 0.15 million model parameters, remarkably outperforming SOTA competitors in computational efficiency and storage resources. © 1999-2

Today, the world economy is in the stage of rapid development, followed by the rising quantity, the decreasing moisture content, and the increasing heat value of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW). Since waste incineration has the advantages of excellent volume reduction effect, high resource utilization efficiency, and less secondary pollution to the environment, waste incineration disposal technology has received extensive attention worldwide. With the continuous increase of the urban population, the amount of sewage sludge is growing year by year. The process of the sludge incineration system is highly complicated, and the cost of construction and operation is high. The waste incinerator can process not only MSW but also sewage sludge. Therefore, the co-incineration of sewage sludge with MSW in the existing waste incinerator is a safe and effective way to dispose of sewage sludge. In this paper, the simulation results of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) are analyzed for medium-scale and large-scale waste incinerators, characterized by high moisture content, high ash content, low heat value of sewage sludge, and incomplete combustion and high pollutant emissions in waste incinerators. With FLIC-Fluent coupled simulation method, the critical information such as temperature field, velocity field, concentration field of principal components, and the pollutant emissions can be predicted. Based on the CFD simulation results, the performance and structure of waste incinerators can be optimized, and the new products can be designed and developed. © COPYRIGHT SPIE. In order to achieve the goal of "double carbon", it is urgent to build a new power system with new energy as the main body. It is vital for the construction and planning of new power system to reasonably optimize the installed ratio of various power supplies. To this end, this paper proposes a capacity allocation optimization method of multi energy power system based on complementary equilibrium theory, and establishes the capacity optimization models of multi-energy system such as wind power, thermal power, nuclear power and energy storage with the objective of minimizing the operation cost of the whole network. The model adopts the load characteristics, the output characteristics of new energy and the operation characteristics of energy storage power stations in the target power grid. The annual output time series of wind/photovoltaic and the load series are used as the input of the model. Through the annual time series production simulation calculation, the optimal capacity ratio of wind-photovoltaic-thermal-nuclear-storage system is determined to meet the conditions. Finally, a regional power grid in China is demonstrated as an example to verify the effectiveness and practicability of the proposed model and method. © 2022 IEEE.

As a novel computing paradigm, the Vehicular Edge Computing (VEC) network provides an additional avenue for onboard task execution for connected and automated vehicles (CAVs) in unmanned systems. In a VEC network, CAVs can offload tasks to different external servers for execution and obtain results. However, existing task offloading studies only focus on the one-to-one offloading of onboard tasks to edge servers, ignoring the requirements of parallel task execution and security. In this paper, we propose a blockchain-based multi-destination cooperative task offloading architecture in a VEC network. Based on this architecture, we analyze the task offloading and blockchain models and formulate a multi-destination cooperative task offloading optimization problem. Finally, we compare the performance of different multi-destination task offloading methods in simulations and demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed architecture and optimization. © 2023 IEEE.

The efficient short circuit calculation is the basis of short circuit current control. Commonly, the iterative calculation method of short-circuit current is adopted in power systems containing renewable energy sources. However, the detailed short-circuit current screening for all areas in power systems is time-consuming. To address this problem, this paper proposes an efficient screening method for areas with high risk of short-circuit current exceedance. Firstly, this paper builds the short-circuit models of synchronous generator and renewable energy source. Then, an efficient approximate calculation method of the maximum short-circuit current is proposed. Finally, a screening method for high-risk areas with short-circuit current exceeding limit is proposed, and an index of screening performance is defined. The validity of the proposed method is verified with a modified New England 39-bus power system.

Model and Simulation of Multipath Error in DLL for GPS Receiver

Although different multipath error models of Delay lock loop (DLL) used in GPS receiver are established, they have never been put together for comparison. Furthermore, no universal simulation method is developed to get a fair comparison among these models. A new model with implicate expression is hence proposed for the coherent DLL and the noncoherent Dot-product (DOT) power mode DLL. Meanwhile, a new simulation method based on the anonymous function in Matlab, which is especially suitable for models with implicit expression, is also proposed to compare the new model with the existing ones. The theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the existing models are the special case of the proposed one. The new simulation method can be used for the comparison of different multipath error models and the multipath error analysis of other DLLs for which only the implicit model is available.
