With the rapid growing of vehicle population, NOx has gradually become a key factor restricting the prevention and control of O3 pollution in China. High-resolution vehicle emission inventories are essential for the development of scientific and efficient pollution prevention and control policies. In this study, a bottom-up approach is adopted to develop a high temporal and spatial resolution vehicle NOx emission inventory for Guangzhou in 2021 based on real-time road network hourly-scale traffic data detected by 5,198 AVI devices. The study further examines the prominent emission vehicle types, emission periods, and emission hotspots in different regions (11 administrative districts, central urban areas, and non-central urban areas) to facilitate a detailed analysis and traceability of high-pollution events. The results of the study showed that the average daily NOx emission from vehicles was 196.15 t/day and the average daily emission intensity was 15.82 kg/(dayžkm). Diesel trucks, medium & heavy diesel trucks, and diesel trucks with China III or lower emission standards are the prominent vehicles with low occupancy and high emissions. In terms of spatial distribution, HDTs are the main contributors in the non-central urban areas, while heavy passenger vehicles and light duty trucks are the main contributors in the central urban areas, and buses also contribute a slightly higher percentage compared to the non-central urban areas. To meet the demand of freight transportation, the distribution of NOx emission hotspots shows a pattern of dispersion outward along the beltway network centred on Baiyun District. A more detailed traceability analysis of the high NOx emission contribution is used to assist in the development of pollution prevention policies. © 2024 SPIE.

Aiming at the low level of SCD file management in smart substation, a method of SCD file management and analysis based on graph database is proposed. First, the file structure and function model of SCD under the SCL model are analyzed, and analyzed into DOM structure tree. Then, the SCD knowledge graph was constructed, and the Neo4j graph database was used for storage, management and parsing. Python was used to implement the method, and the visibility and query performance of the method were tested. The results show that this method is helpful to the management of SCD files and can improve the efficiency of operation and maintenance staff.

High temperature rise of permanent magnet linear synchronous motor can lead to irreversible demagnetization of the motor permanent magnet, which can negatively affect the motor performance. To address this problem, a thermal modeling analysis method based on Transfer learning-Deep neural network (TL-DNN) was proposed in this paper. Its specific implementation steps include (1) corresponding to different heat source inputs, the equivalent thermal circuit method and the finite element analysis was adopted based on the structure and main parameters of PMLSM including overall average temperature rise, coil temperature rise and permanent magnet temperature rise from the data sets of the motor;(2) TL-DNN was used to fit the functional relationship between the input source features and the output targets based on the characteristics of the sample data sets. In order to verify the accuracy of the prediction model with small sample data sets, this paper divided the proportion of the data set and compared the results with other classic nonparametric models (random forest, support vector machine, and deep neural network). The results show that the TL-DNN model outperforms other machine learning models and has better robustness and generalization ability when the training datasets are insufficient, and achieves an organic combination of physical field path model and data-driven model, which provides a feasible solution for PMLSM modeling in the case of small samples. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

High-voltage direct current (HVDC) based on modular multilevel converter (MMC) is an efficient way to integrate wind farms. However, following short-circuit fault on transmission line, wind turbines (WTs) may lose synchronization with sending-end MMC. As a result, delivery and consumption of wind power are under risk. This paper investigates the mechanism of synchronous instability of wind farm integrated MMC-HVDC system under the severe grid faults. First, a synchronization stability model of the whole is stablished, the existing of stable equilibrium points (SEPs) and the damping characteristic of the whole system are analyzed. Then, a synchronization stability enhancement strategy is proposed based on the coordination of WT and MMC. Last, the effectiveness of proposed strategy is verified by time-domain simulation.

Choose Your Simulator Wisely: A Review on Open-source Simulators for Autonomous Driving

Simulators play a crucial role in autonomous driving, offering significant time, cost, and labor savings. Over the past few years, the number of simulators for autonomous driving has grown substantially. However, there is a growing concern about the validity of algorithms developed and evaluated in simulators, indicating a need for a thorough analysis of the development status of the simulators. To address existing gaps in research, this paper undertakes a comprehensive review of the history of simulators, proposes a utility-based taxonomy, and investigates the critical issues within open-source simulators. Analysis of the past thirty years' development trajectory reveals a trend characterized by an increase in open-source simulators and an expansion of their functionality scope. The categorization of simulators based on feature functionalities delineates five primary classes: traffic flow, sensory data, driving policy, vehicle dynamics, and comprehensive simulators. Furthermore, the paper identifies critical unresolved issues in open-source simulators, including concerns regarding the fidelity of sensory data, representation of traffic scenarios, and accuracy in vehicle dynamics simulation, all of which have the potential to undermine experimental confidence. Additionally, challenges in data format inconsistency, labor-intensive map construction processes, sluggish step updating, and insufficient support for Hardware-In-the-Loop testing are discussed as hindrances to experimental efficiency. In light of these findings, the survey furnishes task-oriented recommendations to aid in the selection of simulators, taking into account factors such as accessibility, maintenance status, and quality, while highlighting the inherent limitations of existing open-source simulators in validating algorithms and facilitating real-world experimentation. The rational design of weighting factors in the cost function for finite control set model predictive torque control (FCS-MPTC) has been a matter of great interest in power electronics and electrical drives. In order to solve this problem, a weighting factors autotuning strategy for FCS-MPTC of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) based on the adaptive multi-objective black hole algorithm (AMOBH) is proposed. In this paper, the design process of the FCS-MPTC algorithm is first analyzed in detail. Then, an AMOBH algorithm that can take into account both population convergence and population diversity is introduced, and based on this algorithm, the design problem of the weighting factors is successfully transformed into a multi-objective optimization problem by means of reconstructing the cost function and designing the motor operation information collected in real time as the objective functions of the multi-objective optimization algorithm. Simulation results show that the proposed method can find a set of weighting factor combinations suitable for different working condition requirements, and these weighting factors can effectively improve the operation performance of the PMSM system. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

Acoustic cameras have found many applications in practice. Accurate and reliable extrinsic calibration of the microphone array and visual sensors within acoustic cameras is crucial for fusing visual and auditory measurements. Existing calibration methods either require prior knowledge of the microphone array geometry or rely on grid search which suffers from slow iteration speed or poor convergence. To overcome these limitations, in this paper, we propose an automatic calibration technique using a calibration board with both visual and acoustic markers to identify each microphone position in the camera frame. We formulate the extrinsic calibration problem (between microphones and the visual sensor) as a nonlinear least squares problem and employ a batch optimization strategy to solve the associated problem. Extensive numerical simulations and real-world experiments show that the proposed method improves both the accuracy and robustness of extrinsic parameter calibration for acoustic cameras, in comparison to existing methods. Accurate calibration of acoustic sensing systems made of multiple asynchronous microphone arrays is essential for satisfactory performance in sound sour ce localization and tracking. State-of-the-art calibration methods for this type of system rely on the time difference of arrival and direction of arrival measurements among the microphone arrays (denoted as TDOA-M and DOA, respectively). In this paper, to enhance calibration accuracy, we propose to incorporate the time difference of arrival measurements between adjacent sound events (TDOA-S) with respect to the microphone arrays. More specifically, we propose a two-stage calibration approach, including an initial value estimation (IVE) procedure and the final joint optimization step. The IVE stage first initializes all parameters except for microphone array orientations, using hybrid TDOA (i.e., TDOA-M and TDOA-S), odometer data from a moving robot carrying a speaker, and DOA. Subsequently, microphone orientations are estimated through the iterative closest point method. The final joint optimization step estimates multiple microphone array locations, orientations, time offsets, clock drift rates, and sound source locations simultaneously. Both simulation and experiment results show that for scenarios with low or moderate TDOA noise levels, our approach outperforms existing methods in terms of accuracy.
