The joint design of control and transmission has been demonstrated to be a successful technique for enhancing the performance of industrial cyber-physical systems (ICPS). In the majority of existing works, the control cost and the transmission cost are defined independently, followed by a weighted total calculation. This approach suffers from a dimension consistency issue, leading the results to diverge from the system's actual optimal performance. Hence, it is necessary to consider the overall information of the loop and characterize the coupling relationship between control and transmission to construct the overall system performance function. This paper proposes a full loop age of information (FL-AoI) based control and transmission joint design architecture for multi-subsystem ICPS integrating multi-hop network. The state delay, input delay, and event trigger are all taken into consideration by FL-AoI to more fully portray the freshness of the information. We provide a novel control performance based on FL-AoI where the network characteristics are incorporated into the control cost, which could tackle the dimensionality mismatch brought by the form of weighted summation of the control and transmission cost. We also provide the FL-AoI-based strategy for the controller and event-triggering mechanism and derive the cost's boundary. The evaluation results demonstrate that, in comparison to the conventional joint design strategy, our solution increases the stability of the control system while decreasing the network burden.

Large-scale satellite networks are a crucial component of future communication systems. However, they pose several challenges to satellite routing design and link recovery. This paper proposes an Adaptive Load Balancing routing algorithm for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Satellite Cluster Networks (ALBSCN) to meet the needs of large-scale Low Earth Orbit LEO satellite networks. The constellation is divided into clusters, with each cluster maintaining the intra-cluster link state by electing a cluster head. The cluster head computes intra-cluster and inter-cluster routes. Messages are forwarded using inter-cluster multipath routing and intra-cluster routing techniques. We validated the algorithm's performance and compared it with other algorithms in terms of packet delivery delay using simulation. Simulation results indicate that the proposed clustering routing scheme effectively reduced packet loss and end-to-end delay, while also increasing network throughput.

Synthesis of Temporally-Robust Policies for Signal Temporal Logic Tasks using Reinforcement Learning

This paper investigates the problem of designing control policies that satisfy high-level specifications described by signal temporal logic (STL) in unknown, stochastic environments. While many existing works concentrate on optimizing the spatial robustness of a system, our work takes a step further by also considering temporal robustness as a critical metric to quantify the tolerance of time uncertainty in STL. To this end, we formulate two relevant control objectives to enhance the temporal robustness of the synthesized policies. The first objective is to maximize the probability of being temporally robust for a given threshold. The second objective is to maximize the worst-case spatial robustness value within a bounded time shift. We use reinforcement learning to solve both control synthesis problems for unknown systems. Specifically, we approximate both control objectives in a way that enables us to apply the standard Q-learning algorithm. Theoretical bounds in terms of the approximations are also derived. Offset-free model predictive control (MPC) provides a useful means for controlling systems with uncertainties and constraints, but suffers from the heavy computational burden of repeatedly solving an optimization problem in real time. Such computational issue precludes the possibility of its application in systems requiring high realtime requirements, such as autonomous driving system. To address this problem, we develop a provably safe deep learning-based offset-free MPC framework. Based on the nominal offset-free MPC, the proposed MPC not only reserves the ability of disturbance rejection, but also leverages deep neural networks for approximating the explicit MPC solution to greatly reduce online computational time. Furthermore, a gauge map is used to guarantee the satisfaction of safe constraints. The proposed MPC is used in trajectory tracking control for smart autonomous driving. The simulation results show that the proposed MPC is an order of magnitude faster than the nominal offset-free MPC in safety-critical systems.

Rolling bearing is of vital significance in industrial applications and Intelligent fault diagnosis (IFD) have been widely exploited in this field. However, cross-machine variations hinder the model performance across different machines in varying working conditions. To solve this issue, many unsupervised domain adaptation (UDA) approaches have been proposed recently, requiring direct access to the fully labeled source domain. However, privacy concerns are raised in traditional UDA scenario, since raw signals contain various private information. To address this issue, the source-free unsupervised domain adaptation (SFUDA) scenario is considered, where only the pre-trained source model is required, instead of the fully labeled source domain. In this paper, a SFUDA approach for intelligent fault diagnosis (IFD) is proposed. It consists of two steps: 1) source model generalization, where virtual adversarial training, R-Drop and label smoothing techniques are adopted to improve the generalization ability of the source model;and 2) target model adaptation, where information maximization is used for cluster assumption and mean teacher training paradigm is utilized to alleviate the catastrophic forgetting phenomenon. The proposed approach is verified on the Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) dataset. Experimental results on the show that the proposed SFUDA approach outperforms several typical UDA approaches, and its effectiveness is verified. © 2022 IEEE.

A detection method for granary storage states based on a support vector machine and domain knowledge

Automatic detection of granary storage states is an important technology to ensure national food security. In view of distribution characteristics of bottom pressure, this study theoretically explored a relationship between detected value of bottom pressure of granaries and granary storage states through the technologies, such as integrated learning and nonlinear regression. On this basis, this research built layout models of single-ring pressure sensors on the bottom of granaries and proposed a detection method for granary storage states based on domain knowledge of statistics of bottom pressure in granaries. The experiment demonstrates that the detection method for granary storage states based on a support vector machine (SVM) and domain knowledge shows high detection accuracy and low requirements for sensor performance and low detection cost. Therefore, it can meet the needs of remote online detection of granary storage states usually used. © 2020 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

In this paper, the problem of guarding a circular area is proposed and solved using a Stackelberg differential game theoretic approach. The objective of the attacker is to breach the perimeter of the defended area, while the defenders endeavor to thwart such attempts. The dynamics of the attack-defense game are modeled according to the distance and position relations among defenders, attackers, and the center of defense area. The optimal Stackelberg equilibrium control strategies for both defenders and attackers are designed to guarantee the defense mission's success. Then, the effectiveness of the proposed method is validated through numerical simulation.

Space-air-ground integrated networks (SAGIN) is one of the new network architectures in the 6th Generation Mobile Communication technology (6G), which can provide higher speed and lower latency network access and coverage for ground user terminals. Under the premise of comprehensive connection, it provides solutions for service problems such as information acquisition, transmission, and processing. Given the remote geographical environment and the limited computing capability of users, SAGIN networks can provide reliable computing offload services within their coverage area by employing mobile edge computing servers on satellites and UAVs. In terms of the energy consumtion minimization problem, A Joint optimizing of offloading decision, task allocation, computing frequency and UAV deployment (JODFQ) algorithm is proposed, to decompose the original non-convex problem into three sub-problems that are iteratively solved alternately, while meeting the maximum tolerable latency of underlying tasks. Simulation results have verified the convergence and feasibility of the proposed algorithm. Compared with algorithms that use local-satellite, full-satellite and fixed UAV position schemes, the JODFQ algorithm effectively reduces the total system energy consumption. The research findings serve as a valuable reference for achieving low energy consumption and high efficiency SAGIN systems.

A polarization-diversity omnidirectional glass dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) with gain and bandwidth enhancements is presented in this communication. It employs high-order TM01δ+2 and TE01δ+3 modes to improve the antenna gains of the vertical and horizontal polarizations, respectively. However, their high quality factors result in narrow bandwidths. When the modes of feeding circuits are combined with them, the overlapping bandwidth of the two polarizations is only 6.5%. To overcome this, an air gap is introduced into the dielectric resonator (DR), modifying its shape from cylindrical to I-shaped. This reduces the effective dielectric constant and quality factor, increasing the overlapped bandwidth from 6.5% to 16.0%. In addition, the peak gain is increased from 2.66 to 4.62 dBi by reducing the back lobe. To verify the idea, a DRA made of K9 glass is designed for the 3.3-3.6 GHz WiMAX band. The prototype antenna has a measured overlapping bandwidth of 13.8% and a peak gain of 4.14 dBi. © 2025 IEEE.

This paper centers around the examination of a downlink system comprising of a base station (BS) located at the center of a circular cell. Within this cell, we find cache-equipped users uniformly distributed. Our aim is to explore an innovative approach to enhance spectral efficiency by dividing the users into two groups, effectively utilizing the principles of nonorthogonal multiple access (NOMA) and coded caching. Introducing the NOMA over coded caching scheme, we propose a novel method to elevate the service rate. We derive closedform expressions to accurately quantify the performance of NOMA over coded caching in terms of the service rate. Simulation experiments are conducted to validate the superiority of our proposed algorithm. The results demonstrate the remarkable efficacy of the NOMA over coded caching schemes in significantly improving the service rate, surpassing the conventional coded caching and non-encoding caching schemes.
