We address the problem of output stabilization for the class of nonlinear minimum-phase systems with a well-defined relative degree whose output is affected by measurement noise. In the proposed control structure the derivatives of the output are estimated by means of a new high-gain observer proposed in Astolfi and Marconi [2015], which, with respect to high-gain observers conventionally used in literature, has limited gain power. The advantage in using the proposed observer is in its implementation for systems with high relative degree and in the sensitivity to the sensor noise. Simulation results are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed control structure.

Coordination control of multiple rigid bodies attracts much attention of researchers due to its wide applications. This paper presents the pose synchronization problem of the moving rigid bodies whose dynamics is described by the group SE(3).The case of bidirectional neighbor graphs with switching interconnection topologies is considered. We design a distributed control law based on relative rotation matrices and relative positions between the neighboring rigid bodies, and show that the SE(3)reaches pose synchronization if and only if the neighbor graphs are infinitely jointly connected, which relaxes the theoretical results in the existing literature.

The qubit systems have been the central issue of quantum physics and quantum information processing, and various properties and applications concerning about qubits have been extensively discovered and verified experimentally. However,it is nontrivial to generalize the techniques and methods which effectively deal with the problems involving qubits system and is hard to verify their utility for higher dimensional system, for instance a qutrit. In this paper, we employ Gell-Mann basis to parameterize the density operator for three-level systems instead of using Pauli matrices to represent the qubit state. This generalization representation is used to exploit the rich geometric structures and abundant propeties of qutrits. We give the sufficient and necessary conditions for a 3 × 3 Hermitian operator to be positive semidefinite and investigate the dynamical evolution of the geometrical picture for qutrits when exposed to the depolarizing effects induced by the environment.

This paper investigates representation of a multivariable linear time-invariant system by matrix fraction descriptions (MFD). The main theoretical results in our recent paper [1] have resolved several long-standing issues of MFD models, including uniqueness of MFD pairs {A(z) B(z)} for a given impulse response of the system, complete characterization of the orders of all possible MFDs of a given system, testing criteria for determining whether a matrix pair is an MFD of the system, and algorithms for deriving all MFD representations from certain Toeplitz matrices constructed from impulse responses. For real-time implementation, identification algorithms are introduced that estimate all MFDs of a given system from its input-output data. The results are then extended to cover ARMAX systems. This conference paper aims to reach a broader audience and stimulate potential applications of the methodology and algorithms by highlighting the main results, elaborating key ideas with more discussions, extending simulation studies, and including more examples.

In this paper, aiming at the indoor scene under monitoring by visual sensor network (VSN), an object recognition approach based on structural feature is presented. Firstly, we regard the output of existing line segment detector LSD with proper parameters as the preliminary extraction result and it still will be further restored and split. Then, we give an inference model based on structural features of object including line segment ontology characteristics and relative relationship between the line segments. Finally, the objects are recognized with position information through inference. The effectiveness of the approach is verified, and the results show that our approach does not rely on segmentation and has robustness on partial defect and structural deformation to some extent.
