The kth-order polynomial range model (PRM) for Medium-Earth-Orbit (MEO) Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) signal processing is proposed, analyzed, and verified in this paper. The coefficients of the PRM are calculated according to the relative state vectors between the satellite and the given target on earth, which implies power series expansion around the beam center crossing time. In addition, the relevant two-dimensional spectrum is deduced out as well by using the principle of stationary phase (POSP) and the series reversion approximation. The accuracy of this spectrum is flexible and limited both by the order of the PRIM and the order of the spectrum in an expanded form. Therefore, the PRMbased spectrum is general for MEO SAR with any azimuth resolution at any orbit height

Motion compensation is an indispensable step for generating a high quality image in the airborne SAR system. In bistatic SAR, there are two separate platforms and their velocities cannot keep same all the time. So the echoes are transmitted and received at uniform positions, respectively, which deteriorate the imaging results. In this paper, an azimuth resample method for compensating the velocity variance along the flying direction is promoted, and the difference of azimuth resample between monostatic SAR and bistatic SAR is pointed out. Finally, simulated results show the validity of the method.

a novel single channel SAR-GMTI method is proposed in this paper. When the azimuth mismatch filter performs compression, it induces shifted difference between the stationnry and moving targets because of having different Doppler center. The proposed method employs this character to separate moving targets from stationary targets. It can produce two images by pulse compression which make use of two symmetrical mismatch filters in azimuth direction, and then cancel stationary and retain moving targets by subtracting one image from another. Compared with traditional methods, it is applicable to both low and high squint case and the detection capability is significantly improved. The simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The development and performance of a prototype coded Active Radar Calibration (ARC) in S-band,which is used as a ground calibration reference standard for Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR), are described. The coded ARC uses phase shifting and delay techniques which affect the SAR signal in azimuth and *** ratio of the ARC signal to the background signal is improved. An internal gain stabilization subsystem, which ensures the stability of the complete signal path and Effective Isotropic Radiated Power(ERIP),is included in the prototype coded ARC.
