Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) tomography (TomoSAR) is an advanced remote sensing technology that has the ability to acquire three-dimensional information of targets. To enhance target features, different reaularization terms, including L 1 norm, total variation norm, and morphology term, have been introduced into the TomoSAR inversion model. However, there is a lack of attention to establishing a TomoSAR imaging framework with a modular structure that provides flexibility in specifically enhancing different features. In this article, a novel 3D tomographic reconstruction framework based on plug-and-play (PnP) priors and Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers (ADMM) is proposed. The PnP-ADMM framework achieves flexibility through the selection of appropriate priors for the features of targets, leading to a trade-off between the performance of feature enhancement and computational complexity. Simulation and real data experiments verify the effectiveness of the proposed method in flexibly selecting priors for feature enhancement of specific targets.

DeepEraser: Deep Iterative Context Mining for Generic Text Eraser

In this work, we present DeepEraser, an effective deep network for generic text removal. DeepEraser utilizes a recurrent architecture that erases the text in an image via iterative operations. Our idea comes from the process of erasing pencil script, where the text area designated for removal is subject to continuous monitoring and the text is attenuated progressively, ensuring a thorough and clean erasure. Technically, at each iteration, an innovative erasing module is deployed, which not only explicitly aggregates the previous erasing progress but also mines additional semantic context to erase the target text. Through iterative refinements, the text regions are progressively replaced with more appropriate content and finally converge to a relatively accurate status. Furthermore, a custom mask generation strategy is introduced to improve the capability of DeepEraser for adaptive text removal, as opposed to indiscriminately removing all the text in an image. Our DeepEraser is notably compact with only 1.4M parameters and trained in an end-to-end manner. To verify its effectiveness, extensive experiments are conducted on several prevalent benchmarks, including SCUT-Syn, SCUT-EnsText, and Oxford Synthetic text dataset. The quantitative and qualitative results demonstrate the effectiveness of our DeepEraser over the state-of-the-art methods, as well as its strong generalization ability in custom mask text removal. SwinIQA: Learned Swin Distance for Compressed Image Quality Assessment

Image compression has raised widespread interest recently due to its significant importance for multimedia storage and transmission. Meanwhile, a reliable image quality assessment (IQA) for compressed images can not only help to verify the performance of various compression algorithms but also help to guide the compression optimization in turn. In this paper, we design a full-reference image quality assessment metric SwinIQA to measure the perceptual quality of compressed images in a learned Swin distance space. It is known that the compression artifacts are usually non-uniformly distributed with diverse distortion types and degrees. To warp the compressed images into the shared representation space while maintaining the complex distortion information, we extract the hierarchical feature representations from each stage of the Swin Transformer. Besides, we utilize cross attention operation to map the extracted feature representations into a learned Swin distance space. Experimental results show that the proposed metric achieves higher consistency with human's perceptual judgment compared with both traditional methods and learning-based methods on CLIC datasets. Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is extensively employed in earth remote sensing, including both civilian and military sectors. Currently, establishing the correspondence between strong scattering regions in SAR images and the 3D geometry of the target has become a research hotspot. Traditional methods based on scattering center modeling overly rely on prior knowledge and manual annotation. However, neural network-based approaches often lack the constraints of SAR imaging principles when performing feature extraction. In this paper, we propose a method for analyzing strong scattering in SAR images based on a differentiable simulator to visualize the correspondence between strong scattering in SAR images and the 3D geometry of the target. Specifically, the differentiable simulator accumulates the scattering intensity in the scattering simulation stage to generate simulated SAR images at multi-pose. By computing the loss with the SAR image in the dataset (ground truth), the differentiable simulator can provide a direct mapping from the strong scattering in SAR images to the target's 3D structures. The effectiveness of the method is validated on a dataset of simulated SAR images based on the MSTAR. From the result we obtained, the correspondence between the 3D structures of the target model and the strong scattering in the image can be intuitively and clearly determined.

Compressed sensing (CS) technology has been applied to topographic synthetic aperture radar (TomoSAR) imaging due to the sparsity of elevation signals. The traditional CS algorithms discretize the elevation into many grids and assume that the scatterers are located on grids, therefore, the accuracy of the traditional CS algorithms is limited by the off-grid effect. Although there are currently methods to address the off-grid effect, such as atomic norm minimization (ANM), its application is limited by the baseline distribution form of TomoSAR, which only applies to uniformly observed scenarios. Alternating Descent Conditional Gradient (ADCG) has been applied in many fields as a gridless imaging algorithm. In this paper, we apply ADCG to TomoSAR imaging for the first time, achieving the reconstruction of non-uniform baseline observation scenes. The effectiveness of ADCG in TomoSAR imaging was verified by comparing it with iterative soft thresholding (IST) and orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP) through simulation experiments.

One-shot Generative Domain Adaptation in 3D GANs

3D-aware image generation necessitates extensive training data to ensure stable training and mitigate the risk of overfitting. This paper first considers a novel task known as One-shot 3D Generative Domain Adaptation (GDA), aimed at transferring a pre-trained 3D generator from one domain to a new one, relying solely on a single reference image. One-shot 3D GDA is characterized by the pursuit of specific attributes, namely, high fidelity, large diversity, cross-domain consistency, and multi-view consistency. Within this paper, we introduce 3D-Adapter, the first one-shot 3D GDA method, for diverse and faithful generation. Our approach begins by judiciously selecting a restricted weight set for fine-tuning, and subsequently leverages four advanced loss functions to facilitate adaptation. An efficient progressive fine-tuning strategy is also implemented to enhance the adaptation process. The synergy of these three technological components empowers 3D-Adapter to achieve remarkable performance, substantiated both quantitatively and qualitatively, across all desired properties of 3D GDA. Furthermore, 3D-Adapter seamlessly extends its capabilities to zero-shot scenarios, and preserves the potential for crucial tasks such as interpolation, reconstruction, and editing within the latent space of the pre-trained generator. Cloud detection is a crucial step in the preprocessing of satellite remote sensing images. Existing methods tend to have misjudgments when dealing with specific scenarios, such as challenges in distinguishing thin clouds from the background and addressing missing cloud boundaries. To solve this problem, we designed a novel spatial–Frequency Domain Feature Enhancement Block (SFDE) embedded in a U-shaped network called SFDE-net. SFDE consists of three units: the Dual Frequency Feature Unit (DFF), the spatial Domain Feature Unit (SDF), and the Cross-Domain Feature Fusion Unit (CDF). DFF globally learns the boundaries and overall structure of clouds in the frequency domain, SDF captures fine-grained information in the spatial domain, and CDF adaptively fuses features from both DFF and SDF. Our method’s effectiveness was evaluated on two public datasets, GF-1 WFV and LandSat8. Extensive experiments demonstrated that the proposed SFDE-net achieved accurate detection accuracy and outperformed several state-of-the-art methods.

Deep learning-based 3D object detectors often require large-scale labeled 3D datasets, which can be expensive to annotate. To tackle this issue, we introduce a core-set sampling strategy within an active learning framework, selecting highly informative data from a data pool to reduce reliance on such datasets. Additionally, we introduce a scale-sensitive loss function into the 3D object detector to mitigate the disparities in the influence of small and large objects on model learning, thereby enhancing the accuracy of small object detection. Our experiments on the KITTI dataset demonstrate that our method achieves comparable results to the baseline using only 20% of the data. Notably, our approach outperforms the baseline in small object detection, with an 8% accuracy improvement for pedestrians and a 4% improvement for cyclists. Remote sensing data has strong correlation and continuity in space and time,so time series remote sensing images have low-rank *** this dataset,we repaired images using low-rank tensor ***,we preprocessed the MODIS land surface temperature data and employed spatio-temporal interpolation to initially fill in the missing values caused by cloud ***,we treated the land surface temperature time series data as a third-order spatio-temporal tensor and introduced Fourier transform on the time dimension to convert it into a space-frequency *** performing singular value decomposition and Gaussian low-pass filtering on this tensor,followed by inverse Fourier transform,we obtained a space-time ***,we further optimized the missing tensor using the alternating direction method of *** data accuracy using the method was validated through simulation experiments,where artificial masks were added and subsequently *** resulting mean absolute error(MAE)falls within the range of 2.1℃to 4.9℃.This dataset includes the following data for the Tibetan Plateau on a daily basis for the years 2000-2020:(1)the optimized surface temperature data for the cloud-shaded regions of the MOD11A1,MYD11A1 products(MOD11A1_QTP_PART,MYD11A1_QTP_PART);(2)optimized MOD11A1/MYD11A1 data(MOD11A1_QTP_TEMP,MYD11A1_QTP_TEMP);and(3)original MOD11A1 and MYD11A1 products(MOD11A1_QTP_ORIGIN,MOD11A1_QTP_ORIGIN).All data have a spatial resolution of 1 km and are stored in an integer data format,with pixel value representing the thermodynamic temperature of the surface with a scale factor of 0.02 in *** dataset is archived *** format,and consists of 43833 data files with data size of 143 GB(compressed into 21 files with 138 GB).

In Versatile Video Coding (VVC), local affine motion compensation (LAMC) is adopted to handle complex motions, such as rotation and zooming. However, it is inefficient to use LAMC to handle the global motion due to the following two reasons. First, the use of LAMC may lead to some extra bit cost on the affine motion model parameters. Second, the precision of LAMC is restricted by the MV precision of the control points. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a global homography motion compensation (GHMC) framework to better characterize the global motion. For each coding block, an extra mode is added to perform motion compensation based on an 8-parameter global homography motion model. In addition, an extrapolation scheme is designed to derive the parameters from reference frames to save the bit cost for signaling them. The proposed framework is implemented into the VVC reference software VTM-6.0. Experimental results show that, on average, 0.69% and 0.66% BD-rate reduction is achieved under Low Delay P and Low Delay B configurations, respectively, for sequences with rich complex global motions.
