Gaofen-3-02(GF3-02)is the first C-band synthetic aperture radar(SAR)satellite with terrain observation with progressive scans of SAR(TOPSAR)imaging mode in China,which plays an essential role in marine environment *** the weak scattering characteristics of the ocean,the system thermal noise superimposed on SAR images has significant interference,especially in cross-polarization ***-Equivalent Sigma-Zero(NESZ)is a measure of the sensitivity of the radar to areas of low *** NESZ is defined to be the scattering cross-section coefficient of an area which contributes a mean level in the image equal to the signal-independent additive noise *** TOPSAR,NESZ exhibits the shape of the SAR scanning gain curve in the azimuth and the shape of the antenna pattern in the ***,the accurate measurement of NESZ plays a vital role in the application of spaceborne SAR sea surface cross-polarization *** paper proposes a theoretical calculation method for the NESZ curve in GF3-02 TOPSAR mode based on SAR noise inner calibration data and the imaging algorithm.A method for correcting the error existing in the theoretical curve of NESZ is also proposed according to the relationship between sea surface backscattering and wind speed and the same characteristics of target scattering in the overlapping area of adjacent *** to assessment with wide-swath TOPSAR cross-polarization data,the GF3-02 TOPSAR mode has a very low thermal noise level,which is better than−33 dB at the edge of each beam,and controlled below−38 dB at the center of the *** two-dimensional reference curves of the NESZ of each beam are provided to the GF3-02 TOPSAR *** discussing the relationship between normalized radar cross section(NRCS)and wind speed,we provide a formula for NRCS related to wind speed and radar incidence *** with the NRCS derived from this formula and the NESZ-subtracted NRCS of SAR images,the bias is−0.0048

An energy efficient truncated inner product unit is proposed in this paper. The proposed unit is pipelined and processes the m pairs of n-bit operands in serial, so that only one unit is required and it can be reused in each recurrence. Truncated inner product is produced so that no accumulation is needed for the lower part. The array reduction unit is bit-level pipelined to improve throughput and reduce the initial delay. A two-level [4:2] adder is proposed to accumulate redundant vectors with non-uniform input arrival. The proposed inner product is compared with other truncated inner product units using fully merged arithmetic, partially merged arithmetic and the counter based inner product for different precision and vector length. Our proposed inner product unit has significant reduction in area, power and energy. © 2019 IEEE.

Space-based radar has better coverage and is not limited by the curvature of the earth. Aircraft target tracking is particularly important in space-based radar system. However, the long observation distance and strong nonlinear observation increases the challenge of target tracking. Therefore, we proposed a space-based radar nonlinear tracking method for air targets based on variational Bayesian probability hypothesis density (VB-PHD) filter. The relationship between state and observation is established. Then, the VB method is adopted to deal with uncertainty of measurement noise variances. Besides, the cubature filter is introduced to deal with the strongly nonlinear models, and the recursion process is completed by using the third-order spherical radial volume rule. Finally, simulation scenarios with different measurement noise parameters were constructed, and the tracking result comparisons show that it effectively solves nonlinear problems, and tracking precision can be significantly improved. © 2024 IEEE.

A cepstrum moving target detection （CEPMTD） algorithm based on cepstrum techniques is proposed for passive coherent location （PCL） radar systems. The primary cepstrum techniques are of great success in recognizing the arrival times of static target echoes. To estimate the Doppler frequencies of moving targets, we divide the radar data into a large number of seg- ments, and reformat these segments into a detection matrix. Applying the cepstrum and the Fourier transform to the fast and slow time dimensions respectively, we can obtain the range information and Doppler information of the moving targets. Based on the CEPMTD outlined above, an improved CEPMTD algorithm is proposed to improve the detection performance. Theoretical analyses show that only the target＇s peak can be coherently added. The performance of the improved CEPMTD is initially vali- dated by simulations, and then by experiments. The simulation results show that the detection performance of the improved CEPMTD algorithm is 13.3 dB better than that of the CEPMTD algorithm and 6.4 dB better than that of the classical detection algorithm based on the radar cross ambiguity function （CAF）. The experiment results show that the detection performance of the improved CEPMTD algorithm is 1.63 dB better than that of the radar CAF.

Stabilization of Time-Delay Markovian Jump systems via Probability Rate Synthesis and State Feedback

This paper considers the stabilization problem for Markovian jump systems with time delays. Both the probability rate matrix and the state feedback control law are to be designed. A sufficient condition is established for such designs such that the resulting closed-loop Markovian jump system is stochastically stable. This condition is given in terms of a system of linear matrix inequalities with rank constraints, and can be solved using some existing algorithms. When the system has polytopic uncertainties, the robust stabilization problem is studied as well. Finally, a numerical example is given to show the validity of the proposed method.

Many recent state-of-the-art image retrieval approaches are based on Bag-of-Visual-Words model and represent an image with a set of visual words by quantizing local SIFT（scale invariant feature transform） features. Feature quantization reduces the discriminative power of local features and unavoidably causes many false local matches between images, which degrades the retrieval accuracy. To filter those false matches, geometric context among visual words has been popularly explored for the verification of geometric consistency. However, existing studies with global or local geometric verification are either computationally expensive or achieve limited accuracy. To address this issue, in this paper, we focus on partialduplicate Web image retrieval, and propose a scheme to encode the spatial context for visual matching verification. An efficient affine enhancement scheme is proposed to refine the verification results. Experiments on partial-duplicate Web image search, using a database of one million images, demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed *** on a 10-million image database further reveals the scalability of our approach.

The compensation of channel imbalances plays a vital role in signal processing of the azimuth multi-channel (AMC) synthetic aperture radar (SAR). In the operational AMC SAR system, the channel imbalance is usually considered to be a constant in both the time and frequency domain for one image. However, since the antenna patterns of all channels cannot be strictly consistent, the channel imbalances may vary with the Doppler frequency. This paper establishes the signal model of AMC SAR with channel imbalances changing with Doppler frequency and proposes a novel compensation method during the reconstruction for the echo signals received by all channels. This method has been verified by simulations and real data acquired by Gaofen-3 (GF-3). The result shows that this method has excellent potential for improving the image quality for AMC SAR. © 2021 IEEE.

Composite regularization models are widely used in sparse signal processing, making multiple regularization parameters selection a significant problem to be solved. Variety kinds of composite regularization models are used in SAR imaging, including L1 and TV penalty, L1 and L2,1 penalty, etc. In this article, a new adaptive multiple regularization parameters selection method named L-hypersurface is proposed. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by experiments. Simulation experiments indicate that the selected optimal regularization parameters have satisfied reconstruction results, both visually and numerically. Furthermore, experiments on Gaofen-3 SAR satellite data are also exploited to show the performance of the proposed method. © IET Conference Proceedings. All rights reserved.

SAR image simulation plays a useful role in SAR target interpretation and recognition. The current SAR target simulation methods require high precision of models and simulation parameters, and are only forward processes which lack the feedback adjustment of real image. In this paper, a method of predicting simulation parameters from real images is proposed, which is based on convolutional neural networks(CNN). The architecture and the loss function of the CNN are modified to obtain better performance of the parameter inversion. From the simulation results, the predicted parameters improve the similarity between the simulation images and the real images. © VDE VERLAG GMBH Â Berlin Â Offenbach.

Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have achieved stateof-the-art results on many visual recognition tasks. However, current CNN models still exhibit a poor ability to be invariant to spatial transformations of images. Intuitively, with sufficient layers and parameters, hierarchical combinations of convolution (matrix multiplication and nonlinear activation) and pooling operations should be able to learn a robust mapping from transformed input images to transform-invariant representations. In this paper, we propose randomly transforming (rotation, scale, and translation) feature maps of CNNs during the training stage. This prevents complex dependencies of specific rotation, scale, and translation levels of training images in CNN models. Rather, each convolutional kernel learns to detect a feature that is generally helpful for producing the transforminvariant answer given the combinatorially large variety of transform levels of its input feature maps. In this way, we do not require any extra training supervision or modification to the optimization process and training images. We show that random transformation provides significant improvements of CNNs on many benchmark tasks, including small-scale image recognition, large-scale image recognition, and image retrieval. © 2016 ACM.
