A new packet-selection based transmission scheme is proposed on a dual-hop link with buffer aided amplify-and-forward relay, where the relay with a buffer can record the channel information of source-relay hop and store the received packets. In order to satisfy the constraint of equivalent end-to-end SNR, the relay may pick up a packet in the buffer to transmit, with consideration of the channel statuses of both the source-relay hop and the relay-destination hop. Therefore, by adjusting the packet transmission order in the relay, the outage probability can be decreased in the proposed transmission scheme. Both theoretical analyses and simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms traditional ones by a significant margin of 2-4 dB gain in terms of outage probability.

Strap-down inertial navigation systems are widely applicable in both military and civil industries. The outputs of gyroscope and accelerometer are polluted by noises. Different form the conventional technologies, the weighting filter presented in this work is superior to both the complementary filter and Kalman filter. Furthermore, to eliminate the negative effects brought by the variation of noise statistical characteristics, a fuzzy-logic based regulator is introduced to adjust the weight coefficient adaptively. Finally, experiments are conducted to validate the efficiency of the filter.

Along-Track Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (ATISAR) has the potential of measuring the radial velocity of the slowly moving target. The accuracy of the radial velocity is mainly determined by the accuracy of the interferometric parameters. Sensitivity equations are good ways of analysing the impacts of system parameters for interferometric SAR. Former sensitivity analysis for ATI-SAR has been mainly focused on the case of no squint angle. In this paper, we explain the necessity of analysing the sensitivity equations in the presence of squint angle. Then the expression of the radial velocity in the presence of squint is derived and the sensitivity equations are obtained. Finally, the sensitivity of some interferometric parameters and the impact of squint angles are analysed and simulated for a particular accuracy requirement.

Mobile applications are becoming increasingly popular. More and more people are using their phones to enjoy ubiquitous location-based services (LBS). The increasing popularity of LBS creates a fundamental problem: mobile localization. Besides traditional localization methods that use GPS or wireless signals, using phone-captured images for localization has drawn significant interest from researchers. Photos contain more scene context information than the embedded sensors, leading to a more precise location description. With the goal being to accurately sense real geographic scene contexts, this article presents a novel approach to mobile visual localization according to a given image (typically associated with a rough GPS position). The proposed approach is capable of providing a complete set of more accurate parameters about the scene geo-context including the real locations of both the mobile user and perhaps more importantly the captured scene, as well as the viewing direction. To figure out how to make image localization quick and accurate, we investigate various techniques for large-scale image retrieval and 2D-to- 3D matching. Specifically, we first generate scene clusters using joint geo-visual clustering, with each scene being represented by a reconstructed 3D model from a set of images. The 3D models are then indexed using a visual vocabulary tree structure. Taking geo-tags of the database image as prior knowledge, a novel location-based codebook weighting scheme proposed to embed this additional information into the codebook. The discriminative power of the codebook is enhanced, thus leading to better image retrieval performance. The query image is aligned with the models obtained from the image retrieval results, and eventually registered to a real-world map. Airborne Along-Track Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (ATI-SAR) baseline error is a main error resource affecting the precision of velocity measurement of moving objects and therefore should be calibrated externally. The Jet Propulsion laboratory (JPL) has proposed a calibration scheme for tasks of PacRim98 and PacRim2000 based on several static objects on the ground. In this paper, the influence of phase center uncertainty on baseline determination by using PacRim method proposed by JPL is analyzed. According to the analysis, the phase center uncertainty can cause a constant part of error to the result of baseline calibration. In order to deal with this problem, an improved calibration method on the basis of sensitivity equations and some ground moving targets, whose velocities are already known, is proposed in this paper. The simulation results show that our proposed calibration method has improved the accuracy of baseline calibration and has obviously prohibited the effect of antennas' phase center uncertainty.

geospatial objects detection within complex environment is a challenging problem in remote sensing area. In this paper, we derive an extension of the Relevance Vector Machine (RVM) technique to multiple kernel version. The proposed method learns an optimal kernel combination and the associated classifier simultaneously. Two feature types are extracted from images, forming basis kernels. Then these basis kernels are weighted combined and resulted the composite kernel exploits interesting points and appearance information of objects simultaneously. Weights and the detection model are finally learnt by a new algorithm. Experimental results show that the proposed method improve detection accuracy to above 88%, yields good interpretation for the selected subset of features and appears sparser than traditional single-kernel RVMs.
