Driven by the rapid development of intelligent driving vehicles, predicting the trajectories of pedestrians on the road is crucial for decision-making during driving and even road safety. In this paper, we propose a novel method for trajectory prediction, namely, Continuous Geodesic Self-Attention Models with Gated Fusion (CGSAG). We use geodesic attention to measure the similarity between trajectory points, and utilize a gating mechanism to fuse the geodesic features extracted by multi-layer graph convolution. We then use Neural Ordinary Differential Equations (Neural ODE) to model the continuous-time dynamics of the trajectory. We show that CGSAG improves state-of-the-art performances on several human trajectory prediction datasets, including ETH/UCY, SDD, and Ind. At the same time, we conduct ablation studies to prove the effectiveness and efficiency of our proposed method.

Nowadays, Sleep disorder is a common disease, and spindle spindles are important features of the second stage non-rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep. In this paper, we propose an improved automatic detection method of spindles based on wavelet transform. The spindles automatic detector is mainly composed of wavelet transform and clustering. We collected the electroencephalography (EEG) signals of six patients with sleep disorders all night for ten hours, and then preprocessed the data and other operations, and then used our improved method to detect the sleep EEG signals by spindles. By comparing with the previous automatic detection method not improved and another automatic detection method, the results show that the accuracy of sleep spindles detection can be effectively improved. The accuracy of the improved detector is 5.19% higher than before, and 9.7% higher than that of another method based on amplitude threshold. Finally, we made a simple comparison between people with sleep disorders and normal people. We found that there were significant differences in spindle density between people with sleep disorders and people without sleep disorders. The average spindle density in the normal population averaged 2.59 spindles per minute. People with sleep disorders had an average spindle density of 1.32 spindles per minute. In future research, our research direction is to improve the accuracy of spindles automatic detection by improving the spindles detector and study the difference of spindles between patients with sleep disorders and normal people in a large number of samples, so that the difference of spindles can be used as the basis for the diagnosis of sleep disorders. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Vertex-frequency analysis, particularly the windowed graph Fourier transform (WGFT), is a significant challenge in graph signal processing. Tight frame theories is known for its low computational complexity in signal reconstruction, while fractional order methods shine at unveil more detailed structural characteristics of graph signals. In the graph fractional Fourier domain, we introduce multi-windowed graph fractional Fourier frames (MWGFRFF) to facilitate the construction of tight frames. This leads to developing the multi-windowed graph fractional Fourier transform (MWGFRFT), enabling novel vertex-frequency analysis methods. A reconstruction formula is derived, along with results concerning dual and tight frames. To enhance computational efficiency, a fast MWGFRFT (FMWGFRFT) algorithm is proposed. Furthermore, we define shift multi-windowed graph fractional Fourier frames (SMWGFRFF) and their associated transform (SMWGFRFT), exploring their dual and tight frames. Experimental results indicate that FMWGFRFT and SMWGFRFT excel in extracting vertex-frequency features in the graph fractional Fourier domain, with their combined use optimizing analytical performance. applications in signal anomaly detection demonstrate the advantages of FMWGFRFT. Hyperspectral LiDAR (HSL) possesses the advantages of the LiDAR and the hyperspectral detection, and detects ranging and spectrum information synchronously, by one HSL system. The data fusion is also avoided. At present, the spectrum range of reported HSLs usually covers only 500 nm-1000 nm (from visual (VIS) to near infrared (NIR) band). However, there is requirement to extend the spectrum range to short wave infrared (SWIR) band, which often contains more useful spectral information. In this paper, a HSL covering the spectrum from VIS to SWIR is reported. In the HSL, the echoes are divided into two sections and are detected by the different optoelectronic devices, of which the spectral response ranges are respectively compatible to the corresponding echoes. The HSL detection experiment in the laboratory was carried out. The waveforms of the echoes were analyzed, and the spectra of different targets were measured by the HSL. The experiment results demonstrate the capability of the prototyped HSL that obtaining the ranging information and the spectrum information of the targets in VIS-SWIR bands synchronously.

In this paper, the lifting platform structure of the father robot and the development of the insect-inspired biomimetic underwater microrobot are presented. The objective is to decrease the load of microrobot and realize more functions. In previous researchers, the platform of the father robot is fixed, which is not conducive to adopt and release the son robot. The structure of the lifting platform can effectively solve the problem in theory. The insect-inspired microrobot used wood which has high hydrophilism. It causes the body of microrobot increased weight and short-term works. The fillable structure with waterproof character which is made by a 3D printer. The new structure also can be changed weight for achieving different functions underwater efficiently. Then, two kinds of communication between the light source and microrobot like chasing rotation and fixed distance chasing are described in order to prove the feasibility of the software. In all these cases, experimental results show the performance of the microrobot.

Stereoscopic image quality assessment (SIQA) has encountered non-trivial challenges due to the fast proliferation of 3D contents. In the past years, deep learning oriented SIQA methods have emerged and achieved spectacular performance compared to conventional algorithms which are only relied on extracting hand-crafted features. However, most existing deep SIQA evaluators are not specifically built for stereoscopic content and consider little prior domain knowledge of the 3D human visual system (HVS) in network design. In this paper, to better simulate the binocular rivalry phenomenon, we propose a Predictive Auto-encoDing Network (PAD-Net) for blind/No-Reference stereoscopic image quality assessment (NR-SIQA). The proposed encoder-decoder architecture is inspired by the predictive coding theory that the cognition system tries to match bottom-up visual signal with top-down predictions. Besides, we design the Siamese framework to mimic the binocular rivalry in the 3D HVS based on the likelihood and prior maps generated from the predictive coding process. Extensive experimental results on three publicly available stereoscopic image quality databases demonstrate that the devised approach outperforms state-of-the-art algorithms for predicting the perceptual quality of both symmetrically and asymmetrically distorted stereoscopic images with various distortion types. Integrating Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) plays a crucial role in urban area surveillance and situational awareness, benefiting from the low cost, small size, and high flexibility of SAR carried by drones. However, the dense arrangement of high-rise buildings in urban environments creates Urban Canyons and numerous visual blind spots due to occlusion, which weakens the perception capability of SAR. Additionally, SAR imaging results of moving vehicles on the roads between buildings result in severe defocusing due to their non-cooperative motion. In this paper, we establish a vehicle signal model for SAR imaging with UAVs that considers the vehicle body’s translation and the wheels’ rotation. The range history modulation and imaging characteristics of returns caused by translation and micro-motion are derived. Simulation results validate the correctness of the theoretical analysis, and the proposed theory helps explain SAR imaging results, providing support for high-precision focusing and three-dimensional imaging of non-line-of-sight (NLOS) SAR images.

The evolution of multiple pulses and the pump hysteresis phenomenon were observed in a passively mode-locked Er-doped fiber laser using an Sb2S3-PVA saturable absorber. As the pump power was increased, the generations of onefold, twofold, and threefold pulses were meticulously documented. When the pump power was decreased, the evolution of fivefold and sixfold pulses was carefully recorded, accompanied by a clear pump hysteresis phenomenon. A thorough analysis was conducted to examine and reveal the inversely proportional relationship between the RF spectrum modulation periods and the total pulse intervals of the multi-pulse bunches including from onefold to sixfold pulses. © 2023, The Authors. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) possess high mobility and flexible deployment capabilities, prompting the development of UAVs for various application scenarios within the Internet of Things (IoT). The unique capabilities of UAVs give rise to increasingly critical and complex tasks in uncertain and potentially harsh environments. The substantial amount of data generated from these applications necessitates processing and analysis through deep neural networks (DNNs). However, UAVs encounter challenges due to their limited computing resources when managing DNN models. This paper presents a joint approach that combines multiple-agent reinforcement learning (MARL) and generative diffusion models (GDM) for assigning DNN tasks to a UAV swarm, aimed at reducing latency from task capture to result output. To address these challenges, we first consider the task size of the target area to be inspected and the shortest flying path as optimization constraints, employing a greedy algorithm to resolve the subproblem with a focus on minimizing the UAV’s flying path and the overall system cost. In the second stage, we introduce a novel DNN task assignment algorithm, termed GDM-MADDPG, which utilizes the reverse denoising process of GDM to replace the actor network in multi-agent deep deterministic policy gradient (MADDPG). This approach generates specific DNN task assignment actions based on agents’ observations in a dynamic environment. Simulation results indicate that our algorithm performs favorably compared to benchmarks in terms of path planning, Age of information (AoI), energy consumption, and task load balancing. Compressed sensing technique is widely used in the field of multiple input multiple output (MIMO) radar imaging to suppress sidelobes and noise, bringing better imaging performance. However, many constraints are introduced to the sparse reconstruction model, current sparse microwave imaging model is based on several assumptions, such as far field assumption, which might not hold in some circumstances. In this paper, a novel two-dimensional sparse reconstruction method based on approximated observation is proposed. First, we obtain the measurement matrix by the inverse back-projection operator, and construct a two-dimensional sparse reconstruction model. Then, we adopt the minimax concave constraint as the regularization term and use the iterative soft threshold algorithm (ISTA) for sparse reconstruction. The method retains the advantages of the BP algorithm and the sparse reconstruction algorithm at the same time, and the distance between the target and the antenna array is not constrained by image reconstruction performance of the sparse reconstruction algorithm. Simulations and experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
