A series of new(Al_(18)Co_(13)Cr_(10)Fe_(14)Ni_(45))(100−x)Tix(x=0,0.5,1)eutectic high-entropy alloys(EHEAs)were designed and prepared with the aid of empirical parameter calculations and JMatPro software *** effects of Ti addition on the microstructures,phase structures,and mechanical properties of Al_(18)Co_(13)Cr_(10)Fe_(14)Ni_(45) EHEA were *** results show that(Al_(18)Co_(13)Cr_(10)Fe_(14)Ni_(45))_((100−x))Ti_(x)(x=0,0.5,1)EHEAs are composed of the FCC and B2 *** the increase in Ti content,the strength of the EHEAs *** volume fraction of the FCC phase decreases,and the volume fraction of B2 phase increases;the size of nanoprecipitates within the B2 phase decreases and the number of them increases,which could be responsible for the high strength due to the addition of *** them,(Al_(18)Co_(13)Cr_(10)Fe_(14)Ni_(45))99.5Ti0.5 alloy exhibited excellent properties with yield strength,ultimate tensile strength,and ductility of 690 MPa,1065 MPa,and 9.18%,respectively.

It is very appealing that 5-hydroxymethylfurfural(HMF)is electrocatalytical oxidized as 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid(FDCA)linking to non-classical cathodic hydrogen(H_(2))***,the electrocatalysts for electrocatalytic HMF oxidative reaction(e-HMFOR)have been facing low Faradaic efficiency(FE)and high water splitting ***,we propose a strategy of the NiSeO_(3)@(CoSeO_(3))_(4)heterojunction by constructing a Co-Ni paired site,where the Co site is in charge of adsorbing for HMF while the electrons are transferred to the Ni site,thus giving the NiSeO_(3)@(CoSeO_(3))_(4)heterojunction superior electrocata lytic performances for e-HMFOR and water *** optimizing conditions,the NiSeO_(3)@(CoSeO_(3))_(4)heterojunction has high conversion of 99.7%,high selectivity of 99.9%,and high FE of 98.4%at 1.3 V,as well as low cell voltage of 1.31 V at 10 mA cm^(-2)in 1 M KOH+0.1 M *** study offers a potential insight for e-HMFOR to high value-added FDCA coupling water splitting to produce H_(2)in an economical manner.

Influence of minor cerium addition on microstructure and fluidity of as-cast Al-Cu-Mn-Mg alloy

Al-Cu-Mn alloys are widely used to produce automobile components like cylinder heads and engine blocks because of their capability to retain excellent thermal and mechanical characteristics at high ***,the Al-Cu-Mn-based alloys demonstrate restricted fluidity,leading to casting defects such as shrinkage and incomplete *** research investigated the microstructure and fluidity of Al-4.7Cu-1.0Mn-0.5Mg(wt%)alloy with minor cerium(Ce)*** as-cast alloys predominantly compriseα-Al matrix,accompanied by the presence of Al_(2)Cu,Al_(6)Mn,and Al_(8)Cu_(4)Ce *** influence of adding Ce on the fluidity of the Al-4.7Cu-1.0Mn-0.5Mg alloy was investigated using a trispiral fluidity test mold in this *** findings suggest that the addition of Ce within the range of 0.1 wt%to 0.5 wt%in the Al-4.7Cu-1.0Mn-0.5Mg alloy results in an enhancement in ***,the alloy containing 0.4 wt%Ce exhibits a significant increase in fluidity distance,from 349.7 to 485.7 *** improvement can be attributed to the reduction in viscosity,the refinement of secondary dendrite arm spacing,and the modification of secondary phase ***,a higher concentration of Ce leads to a decrease in fluidity length,potentially due to the formation of Al_(8)Cu_(4)Ce.

Impact fracturing of rock-like material using carbon dioxide under different temperatures and pressures

Unconventional resources (oil, gas, and geothermal) are often buried deep underground within dense rock strata and complex geological structures, making it increasingly difficult to create volumetric fractures through conventional hydraulic fracturing. This paper introduces a novel method of supercritical energetic fluid thermal shock fracturing. It pioneers a CO_(2) deflagration impact triaxial pneumatic fracturing experimental system, using high-strength similar materials to simulate deep, hard rock masses. The study investigates the rock-breaking process and crack propagation patterns under supercritical CO_(2) thermal shock, revealing and discussing the types of thermal shock-induced fractures, their formation conditions, and discrimination criteria. The research indicates that higher supercritical CO_(2) thermal shock pressures and faster pressure release rates facilitate the formation of radial branching fractures, circumferential cracks, and branch cracks. Typically, CO_(2) thermal shock generates 3–5 radial main cracks, which is significantly more than the single main crack formed by hydraulic fracturing. The formation of branched cracks is often caused by compression-shear failure and occurs under relatively harsh conditions, determined by the confining pressure, rock properties, peak thermal shock pressure, and the pressure sustained post-decompression. The findings are expected to offer a safe, efficient, and controllable shockwave method of supercritical fluid thermal shock fracturing for the exploitation of deep unconventional oil and gas resources.

Feature-Aligned Stacked Autoencoder: A Novel Semisupervised Deep Learning Model for Pattern Classification of Industrial Faults

Autoencoder is a widely used deep learning method, which first extracts features from all data through unsupervised reconstruction, and then fine-tunes the network with labeled data. However, due to the limited number of labeled data samples, the network may lack sufficient generalization ability and is prone to overfitting. This article proposes a new semisupervised deep learning method called feature-aligned stacked autoencoder (FA-SAE). FA-SAE takes advantage of the unlabeled data during the fine-tuning process by aligning the feature of both labeled and unlabeled data. In FA-SAE, a new training loss function is designed by integrating the Sinkhorn distance measure of the difference between the features extracted from labeled and unlabeled data through the neural network into the cross-entropy classification loss. The effectiveness of the proposed FA-SAE is verified through its application to two industrial processes, and the application results demonstrated that the proposed FA-SAE has better generalization ability and higher fault classification accuracy as compared to the state-of-the-art methods. © 2020 IEEE.

Thermodynamic Modeling and Heat-Moisture Transfer Characteristic Analysis of in Situ Thermal Desorption System for Polluted Soil

In Situ Gas Thermal Desorption (ISGTD) is one of the effective approaches for organic contaminated soil. To investigate the heat-moisture transfer characteristics of soil during the heating process, a radially layered coupled heat-moisture model of the ISGTD system is established. The temperature and moisture distribution along the radial direction of the heat source, as well as the synergistic action of heat-moisture transfer at different heating stages are analyzed. The effects of heat intensity and initial water content on the heating performance are discussed. The results demonstrate that the liquid water migration driven by temperature gradient is greater than that driven by water content gradient and the liquid water migration in each soil unit increases from the heat-up stage to the superheating phase inside-out radially. The gas flow rate directly affects the stable temperature and heating time, while the initial water content only contributes to the heating time when the stable temperature remains unchanged. The correctness of the numerical model and results is verified by comparing them with on-site experimental data. Considering that high initial water content will lead to an extension of the heating time in the first two stages, further optimization design can be carried out for less gas flow rate and shorter heating time to achieve energy-saving remediation of high moisture soil. The above findings are of guiding significance in the engineering applications of contaminated soil remediation. © 2024, Science Publications. All rights reserved.

Autonomous relative optical navigation based on unified modeling of external systematic errors

To solve the problem that external systematic errors of the optical camera cannot be fully estimated due to limited computing resources,a unified dimensionality reduction representation method for the external systematic errors of the optical camera is proposed,and autonomous relative optical navigation is *** camera translational and misalignment errors are converted into a three-dimensional rotation error,whose differential model can be established through specific attitude control and appropriate ***,the rotation error and the relative motion state are jointly estimated in an augmented Kalman filter *** with the traditional method that estimates the camera translational and misalignment errors,the proposed method reduces the computational complexity in that the estimated state dimension is ***,as demonstrated by numerical simulation,the estimation accuracy is improved significantly.
