Connected and automated vehicles are widely agreed to bring tremendous benefits to the traffic system. But the understanding of them is still challenging due to the complexity of the mixed traffic flow of human-driven (HDVs), automated vehicles (AVs), and connected and automated vehicles (CAVs), and due to our limited knowledge of the impacts of adverse weather conditions. Given this, this study was driven to test the safety performance of the above mixed traffic flow both in sunny and snowy conditions under various market penetration rates (MPRs) using SUMO. Minimum gap, the acceleration/deceleration ability of vehicles, and the drivers’ desired (minimum) time headway were specifically calibrated for car-following behaviors by a Kolmogorov-Smirnov test based on data collected at an intersection in China. Three surrogate safety measures, i.e., time to collision (TTC), Time-Exposed TTC (TET), and brake rate (BR), were utilized to evaluate the real-time crash risk variations. The results show that 1) the safety performance improved in sunny and snowy conditions when the traffic flow was mixed with AVs and CAVs; 2) the improvement of AVs and CAVs in avoiding serious conflicts was more significant in the snowy condition, and 3) the performance of the braking rate was different when MPRs increased in the sunny and snowy conditions. In addition, the difference in safety benefits between AVs and CAVs in sunny and snowy conditions was analyzed. The findings of this study provide valuable insights for managing connected and automated traffic under the snowy condition on urban roads.

In the human pose estimation task, on the one hand, 3-D pose always has difficulty in dividing different 2-D poses if the view is limited;on the other hand, it is hard to reduce the lifting ambiguity because of the lack of depth information, it is an important and challenging problem. Therefore, two-stage representation refinement based on the convex combination for 3-D human pose estimation is proposed, in which the two-stage method includes a dense-spatial-temporal convolutional network and a local-to-refine network. The former is applied to determine the features between each video frame;the latter is used to get the different scales of pose details. It aims to address the difficulty of estimating 3-D human pose from 2-D image sequences. In such a way, it can better use the relations between every frame in the sequence of the pose video to produce more accurate results. Finally, we combine the above network with a block called convex combination to help refine the 3-D pose location. We test the proposed approach on both Human3.6m and MPII datasets. The result confirms that our method can achieve better performance than improved CNN supervision, a simple yet effective baseline, and coarse-to-fine volumetric prediction. Besides, a robustness test experiment is carried out for the proposed method while the input is interrupted. The result verifies that our method shows better robustness. © 2024 IEEE.

In the process of aligning and assembling prefabricated segmental beams, the measurement method of using total station to obtain spatial pose has the problems of high manual dependence, low measurement efficiency and high construction risk. The existing non-contact measurement methods are analyzed. It is concluded that photogrammetry has the conditions to realize automatic measurement and can reduce certain construction risks. According to the complex situation of bridge construction site and the harsh environment, traditional camera calibration methods are not applicable. Therefore, a self-calibration method is proposed. At the same time, according to the self-calibration algorithm, all photos taken cannot be solved, and there are problems of photo redundancy. The algorithm is further optimized to obtain a focal length calibration method based on global scanning, and the camera shooting is used to test and verify the construction site of prefabricated segmental beam assembly to explore whether the measurement accuracy of the method can meet the construction requirements in the actual construction environment. The results show that the measurement method can be realized in the construction environment of precast segmental beams. And the measurement accuracy meets the assembly requirements of precast segmental beams. © 2023 SPIE.

Winter jujube(Ziziphus jujuba'Dongzao')is greatly appreciated by consumers for its excellent quality,but brand infringement frequently occurs in the ***,we first determined a total of 38 elements in 167 winter jujube samples from the main winter jujube producing areas of China by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer(ICP-MS).As a result,16 elements(Mg,K,Mn,Cu,Zn,Mo,Ba,Be,As,Se,Cd,Sb,Ce,Er,Tl,and Pb)exhibited significant differences in samples from different producing *** linear discriminant analysis(LDA)and orthogonal projection to latent structures discriminant analysis(OPLS-DA)showed better performance in identifying the origin of samples than unsupervised principal component analysis(PCA).LDA and OPLS-DA had a mean identification accuracy of 87.84 and 94.64%in the testing set,*** using the multilayer perceptron(MLP)and C5.0,the prediction accuracy of the models could reach 96.36 and 91.06%,*** on the above four chemometric methods,Cd,Tl,Mo and Se were selected as the main variables and principal markers for the origin identification of winter ***,this study demonstrates that it is practical and precise to identify the origin of winter jujube through multi-element fingerprint analysis with chemometrics,and may also provide reference for establishing the origin traceability system of other fruits.

In this study,the real 3D model of the feather shaft that is composed of medulla and cortex is characterized by X-ray computer tomography,and the structural features are quantitatively *** and tensile tests are conducted to evaluate the mechanical performance of the feather shaft and cortex at different *** analysis of the 3D model shows that the medulla accounts for∼70%of the shaft volume and exhibits a closed-cell foam-like structure,with a porosity of 59%.The cells in the medulla show dodecahedron and decahedron morphology and have an equivalent diameter of∼30μ*** axial compression,the presence of medulla enhances the shaft ***,the combined effect of the medulla and cortex increases the buckling strength of the middle and distal shaft by 77%and 141%,respectively,compared to the calculated value of the shaft using linear mixed *** tensile properties of the cortex along the shaft axis are anisotropic because of the different fiber *** the fiber orientation gradually becomes uniform in the axial direction,the Young’s modulus and tensile strength of the cortex on the dorsal gradually increase from calamus to the distal shaft,and the fracture mode changes from tortuous fracture to V-shaped *** cortex on the lateral shows the opposite trend,that is the distal shaft becomes weaker due to fiber tangles.

This paper presents an improved stability condition for neural networks with a time-varying ***,an improved Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional(LKF) is constructed by introducing the delay-product term and the augmented ***,a less conservative delay-dependent stability criterion for neural networks with a time-varying delay is established by utilizing the generalized reciprocally convex combination and a relaxed quadratic function ***,a numerical example is used to illustrate the merit and effectiveness of the proposed stability criterion.

With the rapid advancements in space offensive and defensive countermeasure technologies, the scope of international confrontation has expanded beyond the traditional domains of sea, land, and air, reaching into the realm of space. In modern military warfare, the focus has shifted from solely physical and informational aspects to include the cognitive domain. Within this domain, intent recognition emerges as a crucial technology, offering tactical insights and decision-making guidance for future wars. This paper presents an intention recognition algorithm for space target behaviors, utilizing a long short-term memory (LSTM) network. By incorporating time series motion parameters and the relative relationships between enemy and friendly satellite, the algorithm identifies the tactical intentions behind space target orbital behaviors. Additionally, a space target attack and defense scenario simulation environment is established using MATLAB and C-W equations, enabling the creation of a dataset for space target recognition. Through the proposed method, the simulation effectively discerns the orbital behavior intentions of space targets, providing valuable guidance for battlefield decision-making. © 2023 IEEE.
