For the multi-objective multimodal transportation path optimization problem, based on the analysis of the objective function, the multi-objective path optimization model of container multimodal transportation with class period limitation is constructed by considering the four factors of transportation time, transportation cost, carbon emission, and multimodal logistics service quality, taking into account the different preferences and differentiated demands of different multimodal transportation participating decision makers, and setting different objective functions. The model is solved by a modified genetic algorithm based on the TOPSIS method, and the optimal transportation scheme under different weight combinations is obtained by solving it with MATLAB software using the Chengdu-Shanghai transportation network as an example.

Electrode wear during electrical discharge machining (EDM) is inevitable, and tool electrodes of different materials exhibit different wear rates. For a laminated electrode consisting of various material foils (LE-VMF), the components suffer from significantly different amounts of wear and also influencing each other, however, the form and cause of the wear are not clear. In this paper, the wear of electrode foils and their mutual influence during the EDM process using symmetric and asymmetric LE-VMFs were investigated through experiment. The wear forms of a single foil electrode and a foil of the same material in a LE-VMF were also compared. The experimental results show that copper foil with a lower wear rate had a protective effect on an adjacent brass foil with a larger wear rate in a LE-VMF, while the protective effect of the brass foil in a symmetric LE-VMF was larger than that in an asymmetric LE-VMF. In addition, when the thickness of the brass foil was greater than 150 μm, the working surface of the brass foil in the LE-VMF did not show any concavity-like wear in the middle of its thickness, as was the case for the single brass foil electrode. © 2023, The Authors. In the daily maintenance process of substation, the defect detection of substation equipment is a critical problem. This task is challenging considering of the variety of defects, the rarely sample of various defects and the complex environment. This paper presents a flow-appearance fusion defect detection method for substation equipment in multiple scenes, which contains a Siamese optical flow module and a defect location module. The Siamese optical flow module is a pretrained optical flow network, which is utilized to obtain forward and backward optical flow between the normal image and the detect image. The optical flow represents the common changing features of different types of defects in multiple scenes. The defect location module utilizes MI-darknet53 to realize the extraction and fusion of appearance and flow features. Then the extracted multiscale features are used to build the feature pyramid network (FPN), which combines semantic defect information in high level and geometric defect information in low level. Finally, FPN is utilized to predict object-level defect areas in three different scales. Experiments show that our proposed method has good reliability and superior performance in the defect detection for the dataset of multi-scene substation equipment. © 2021 IEEE

Preparation of Solid Waste-Based Activated Carbon and Its Adsorption Mechanism for Toluene

Regenerated activated carbon(RAC)samples were prepared by carbon activation using waste activated carbon from solid waste resources as the carbon source precursor coupled with adding alkaline additives,and then were further modified by potassium ferrate to finally prepare high-performance carbon for VOCs *** the same time,the samples before and after modification were systematically studied through characterization techniques such as SEM,Raman spectrometry,FT-IR,XPS,and dynamic/static *** results showed that the specific surface area and pore volume of the RAC after modification by the strong oxidant potassium ferrate increased by 1.4 times;the degree of defects was enhanced and the content of oxygen-containing functional groups on the surface increased *** them,the sample modified with potassium ferrate for 24 h had the best dynamic toluene adsorption performance(375.5 mg/g),and the dynamic adsorption capacity was twice that of the original sample(192.8 mg/g).The static adsorption test found that the maximum adsorption capacity of RAC-6%K_(2)FeO_(4)+H_(2)SO_(4)-24h was 796 mg/g,which indicated that the potassium ferrate modification treatment could significantly increase the VOCs adsorption performance of *** addition,through consecutive toluene adsorption-desorption cycle tests,it was found that the RAC-6%K_(2)FeO_(4)+H_(2)SO_(4)-24h sample still retained 91%of adsorption activity after the fifth regeneration *** indicates that RAC-6%K_(2)FeO_(4)+H_(2)SO_(4)-24h has good cycle stability and great application value for the efficient purification of industrial waste VOCs gas.

Effects of Active and Reactive Power control on Inertia in DFIG-Based Wind Turbines

The inertia analysis for wind turbines (WTs) typically focuses on the electromechanical timescale. Active power control (APC) and phase-locked loop (PLL) are essential considerations while reactive power control (RPC) is often deemed negligible, particularly in stiff grid. However, such assumptions may be inappropriate. Therefore, this article aims to comprehensively examine the effects of APC and RPC on the inertia for doubly fed induction generator (DFIG)-based WTs. Firstly, phase motion models are developed by incorporating various combinations of control loops, including APC, RPC, and different PLL configurations. Subsequently, the impacts of the APC and RPC on the inertia are examined in detail. The analysis reveals that the APC diminishes inertia, whereas the RPC significantly enhances the inertia. Additionally, special attention should be given to phase characteristics of the inertia transfer function, as they can substantially influence inertial performance. Furthermore, an improved frequency support method is proposed, which achieves superior frequency response without necessitating the PLL bandwidth to be adjusted to extremely low values, such as 1 Hz or lower. Finally, the analysis and the proposed method are validated through experiments. © 1986-2012 IEEE.

Object pose estimation is important for robots to understand and interact with the real world. This problem is challenging because the various objects, clutter and occlusions between objects in the scene. Deep learning methods show better performances than traditional problems in this problem but training a convolutional neural network needs lots of annotated data which is expensive to obtain. This paper proposes a general method by using domain transfer technology to efficiently solve object pose estimation problem. Besides, the proposed method obtains mask to achieve high quality performance by combing an instance segmentation framework, Mask R-CNN. We present the results of our experiments with the LineMOD dataset. We also deploy our method to robotic grasp object based on the estimated pose. © 2021 IEEE.

This study investigated degradation behaviors of a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug Nabumetone(NMT)and its major metabolite 6-methoxy-2-naphthylacetic acid(MNA)in the coupling process of ultraviolet and monochloramine(UV/NH2Cl).The second-order rate constants of the contaminants reacting with reactive radicals(HO·,Cl·,Cl_(2)·-,and CO_(3)·^(-))were determined by laser flash photolysis ***·and Cl·contributed predominantly with 52.3%and 21.7%for NMT degradation and 60.8%and 22.3%for MNA *** presence of chlorides retarded the degradation of NMT,while promoted the destruction of MNA,which was ascribed to the photosensitization effects of MNA under UV *** functional theory(DFT)calculations revealed that radical adduct formation(RAF)was dominant pathway for both HO·and Cl·reacting with the contaminants,and hydrogen atom transfer(HAT)preferred to occur on side chains of NMT and *** reacted with NO_(2)·through single electron transfer(SET)with the second-order rate constant calculated to be 5.35×10^(7)(mol/L)^(-1)sec^(-1),and the contribution of NO_(2)·was predicted to be 13.0%of the total rate constant of NMT in pure water,which indicated that NO_(2)·played a nonnegligible role in the degradation of *** acute toxicity and developmental toxicity of NMT were enhanced after UV/NH_(2)Cl treatment,while those of MNA were *** transformation products of both NMT and MNA exhibited higher mutagenicity than their parent *** study provides a deep understanding of the mechanism of radical degradation of NMT and MNA in the treatment of UV/NH2Cl.

The estuary-bay system is a common and complex coastal ***,quantifying submarine groundwater discharge(SGD)and associated nutrient fluxes in the complex coastal environment is challenging due to more dynamic and complicated riverine discharge,ocean processes and human *** this study,SGD and SFGD(submarine fresh groundwater discharge)fluxes were evaluated by combining stable and radium isotopes in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area(GBA),a typical estuary-bay *** first built a spatially distributed radium mass balance model to quantify SGD fluxes in coastal areas of GBA integrating the Pearl River Estuary(PRE),bays and *** then used the stable water isotope(d2 H and d18O)end-member mixing model to distinguish submarine fresh groundwater discharge(SFGD)from *** on the 228Ra mass balance,the estimated SGD fluxes in the PRE,adjacent bay,and shelf areas were(6.14±2.74)×10^(8) m^(3) d^(-1),(3.00±1.11)×10^(7) m^(3) d^(-1),and(5.00±5.64)×10^(8) m^(3) d^(-1),*** showed that the largest area-averaged SGD was in the PRE,followed by that in the adjacent shelf and the *** differences may be mainly influenced by ocean forces,urbanization and benthic topographies controlling the variability of groundwater ***,the three end-member mixing model of ^(228)Ra and salinity was developed to confirm the validity of the estimated SGD using the Ra mass balance *** the two models,groundwater endmember and water apparent age estimation were the main sources of uncertainty in *** estimated SFGD flux was(1.39±0.76)108 m^(3) d^(-1),which accounted for approximately 12%of the total *** stable and radium isotopes was a useful method to estimate groundwater ***,the estimated SGD associated dissolved inorganic nitrogen(DIN)flux was one order of magnitude higher than other DIN *** was considered to be a significant contributor to the DIN loading to the *** findings

To investigate the seismic wave propagation mechanism in bench bedding rock slopes, a comprehensive approach combining shaking table tests and numerical simulations is employed. The primary focus of the study is to analyse the energy distribution characteristics using time-frequency analysis. The findings of the research demonstrate that the bench bedding rock slope displays an acceleration elevation amplification effect, indicating a heightened susceptibility of the slope top to seismic excitation. The acceleration amplification factor (AAF) exhibits an increasing trend with the frequency of the sinusoidal wave at each monitoring point. The maximum AAF is observed at an input frequency of approximately 25 Hz, followed by a gradual decrease for frequencies exceeding 25 Hz. Furthermore, an increase in the peak input acceleration results in a decrease in the slope’s natural frequency and an increase in the damping ratio, as ascertained through transfer function analysis. These observed changes signify the accumulation of damage within the slope and alterations in the propagation characteristics of seismic waves. Moreover, the analysis of the energy distribution reveals that the majority of the seismic wave energy is concentrated in the low-frequency range. However, as the elevation increased, there was a gradual decrease in the proportion of energy in the low-frequency range, accompanied by an increase in the proportion in the high-frequency range. These significant research findings enhance the understanding of the behavior and characteristics of seismic waves in bench bedding rock slopes, thereby contributing to improved seismic hazard assessment, dynamic response evaluation, and failure mechanism comprehension. © 2024, The Authors. In this paper, a fault-tolerant control scheme based on prescribed performance control is proposed to solve the pitch angle attitude control problem of large civil aircraft when actuator faults and external disturbances exist simultaneously. Firstly, the longitudinal motion model of civil aircraft with actuator fault is established. Among them, actuator faults and external disturbances are regarded as lumped disturbances. Then, a performance envelope is constructed based on the hyperbolic cosecant function which can adjust the transient convergence rate and the steady convergence rate respectively. In order to achieve fast online estimation of lumped disturbances, an RBF neural network observer is constructed. The introduction of tracking differentiator solves the problems of initial state constraint of prescribed performance control and "differential-explosion" in back-stepping control. After proving the stability of the system from the perspective of theoretical analysis, the simulation of pitch angle control under the condition of abrupt actuator faults and external disturbance is completed based on Boeing 747 longitudinal motion model. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
