A joint longitudinal and lateral guidance law design scheme is proposed for the reference trajectory tracking problem of the reentry gliding phase of hypersonic vehicles. With respect to the longitudinal and lateral motion model of the hypersonic vehicle, a longitudinal guidance law based on the Global Fast Terminal Sliding Mode (GFTSM) algorithm and a lateral guidance law based on the Extended State Observer (ESO) is designed respectively, which are combined to get the bank angle for the hypersonic vehicle and obtain the final guidance scheme. From theoretical analysis, it shows that the guidance scheme has the characteristics of global rapidity and finite-time convergence, and both longitudinal and lateral guidance law are robust to system uncertainties which are caused by certain parameter perturbation and external interference. The effectiveness and superiority of this joint guidance scheme compared to traditional guidance method are verified by simulation experiments using the specific gliding reentry model and reference trajectory of a hypersonic vehicle. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The structure with a new material type of functionally graded carbon nanotube reinforced polymer faces with three-dimensional graphene foam core (CNTRPFS-3DGrFC) sandwich panel is proposed. The equivalent properties of reinforced carbon nanotube (CNT) polymer face sheet and 3-D graphene foam (3DGrF) are calculated. The porosity and mass coefficient relationship are calculated from the mechanical properties of 3DGrF. The vibration characteristics are studied for the proposed structure by developing analytical solution considering the displacement fields of third-order shear deformation theory (TDST) and by using Hamilton’s principle. From the results, it is observed that for the Non varying porosity maximum at center (NVPC) pattern the resonance frequency of CNTRPFS-3DGrFC sandwich panel is shifted toward the right side. Also, as the porosity coefficient decreases, the peaks are shifted rightwards. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Toxic/hazardous gas leakage seriously jeopardizes public safety and the ecological environment, and the use of a UAV equipped with a TDLAS gas sensor to quickly estimate the location of the gas leakage source and the intensity of the leakage at the early stage of the gas leakage, and take timely measures to prevent the expansion of the accident can be effectively prevented. In this paper, the objective function based on the TDLAS gas sensor is constructed by using the position information of the UAV in the process of tracking the plume, the estimated ambient wind speed/direction information, the collected TDLAS measurements, and the Gaussian plume diffusion model, and then the simulated annealing algorithm is used to find the optimization of the objective function, and to solve for the leakage source location and the intensity of the leakage. The simulation results show that the success rate of the proposed method is about 86.7%, the average error of the estimated location is about 1.79 m, and the average error of the leakage intensity is 0.077, which can effectively estimate the location of the leakage source and the leakage strength.

In this study, computational fluid dynamics was used to calculate the drag coefficient and Nusselt number for oblate ellipsoids placed near the wall. The simulation results indicate that the drag coefficient and Nusselt number increase with increasing particle-wall distance. Compared to the cases in unbounded uniform flow, the maximal relative difference in drag coefficient and Nusselt number are 75.61% and 36.64%, respectively. Thus, the wall has a significant effect on the momentum and heat transfer between particles and fluids. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Considering the effects of fluctuating wind excitation on the dynamic performance of the pantograph-catenary coupling system, the ideal contact force between the pantograph and the catenary is taken as the control target, and the control of the pantograph is achieved through an actuator. Firstly, based on the three-mass block pantograph model, a pantograph-catenary coupling model is established for control purposes. Then, the equivalent vibration force on the contact line caused by the fluctuating wind excitation is derived, and the model of the pantograph-catenary system under fluctuating wind excitation is modified. Finally, a sliding-mode control method is adopted to design the pantograph active controller. The results indicate that the designed sliding mode controller is capable of suppressing the vibrations of the pantograph-contact wire system, thereby improving the quality of current collection. © 2024, Beijing Paike Culture Commu. Concerning the problem of odor source search with robots in a large outdoor environment, an odor source search method based on the improved wolf pack algorithm (IWPA) is proposed, in which each wolf corresponds to an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The environment is firstly traversed by the UAVs in partitions by using rectangular wave- shaped paths. Once odor plume is detected by any UAV, the WPA is applied to guide the UAVs towards the odor source. Considering the limited number of UAVs, in order to improve the utilization rate of UAVs, the wolf pack is simplified into two roles: the alpha wolf and other wolves. Meanwhile, to avoid collisions between UAVs and enable UAVs to fully sample around the suspected target position, a besieging algorithm based on a virtual force field is designed to calculate next flight direction for the UAVs. During this period, the odor source position is determined by the alpha wolf which is constantly elected by comparing the fitness values of all wolves. Simulation results show that the IWPA method can find the odor source in short time without falling into local extremum, demonstrating good convergence and being suitable for odor source search tasks in outdoor environments.

Wood broken defects, such as cracks, penetrating dead knots and wanes, will seriously weaken the strength of the wood and destroy the structral integrity of the wood. Therefore, these defects should be inspected and then cut during the production. Although vision-based detection methods have been proposed to detect wood defect regions, they can not detect the defects that change in depth. To solve this problem, this paper focuses on the defect detection by measuring depth difference through 3D laser data. First, the 3D laser data is preprocessed to remove the noise. Secondly, we construct a support profile by multiple mean filtering at the line-level. Next, the residual components are obtained by subtracting the support profile from the profile data and the defect is determined by comparing the residual components and the setting threshold. Finally, we perform merging and filtering operation to determine the final position of defects. The experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper investigates the problem of state monitoring of Intelligent Guided Vehicles (IGVs) operating in the complex port environment. Considering the perturbation suffered by the IGV, a two-step interval estimation method by integrating robust observer design with reachability analysis is proposed. First, we physically model the port IGV and its operating states subject to disturbances and noises, respectively. Then, a robust observer for the state monitoring of the considered IGV is designed and the existing conditions of the observer parameters are derived. In addition, based on the conditions for the existence of the proposed observer, the reachable set is obtained by the zonotope technique. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed two-step interval estimation algorithm for the considered port IGV is verified by numerical simulations. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

High-efficiency and low-cost knowledge sharing can improve the decision-making ability of autonomous vehicles by mining knowledge from the Internet of Vehicles(IoVs).However,it is challenging to ensure high efficiency of local data learning models while preventing privacy leakage in a high mobility *** order to protect data privacy and improve data learning efficiency in knowledge sharing,we propose an asynchronous federated broad learning(FBL)framework that integrates broad learning(BL)into federated learning(FL).In FBL,we design a broad fully connected model(BFCM)as a local model for training client *** enhance the wireless channel quality for knowledge sharing and reduce the communication and computation cost of participating clients,we construct a joint resource allocation and reconfigurable intelligent surface(RIS)configuration optimization framework for *** problem is decoupled into two convex *** to improve the resource scheduling efficiency in FBL,a double Davidon–Fletcher–Powell(DDFP)algorithm is presented to solve the time slot allocation and RIS configuration *** on the results of resource scheduling,we design a reward-allocation algorithm based on federated incentive learning(FIL)in FBL to compensate clients for their *** simulation results show that the proposed FBL framework achieves better performance than the comparison models in terms of efficiency,accuracy,and cost for knowledge sharing in the IoV.
