JHL-3 refers to a functional energetic material commonly used in aerospace solid propellants and weapon warheads. Its reliability is key to the performance and safety of the equipment. Therefore, this paper focuses on the definition of constitutive properties and the damage degree of such materials. We establish the damage-containing Z-W-T constitutive and introduce the ultrasonic nonlinear testing method to determine a corresponding relationship between the second-order relative nonlinear coefficient and the damage degree of the material under different damage states. This method was applied to confirm the same batch of grains, and the prediction error of the empirical model was obtained below 0.05. However, the error increased near the damage threshold (D = 0.301) where macroscopic cracks were generated. This confirms that the method is feasible for evaluating the damage degree of JHL-3 substitute materials. © 2023 IEEE.

Effects of biochar on rainwater redistribution, soil water evaporation and desiccation cracking: A case study of limestone soil in karst areas of southwest China

Soil desiccation cracking, which leads to increased water loss and the destruction of soil integrity, can significantly exacerbate drought conditions and soil degradation. Biochar derived from organic waste can effectively reduce soil desiccation cracking as a sustainable soil amendment. However, the effects of biochar on the entire process of rainfall infiltration, soil water evaporation, and subsequent desiccation cracking remain unclear. In this study, simulated rainfall-evaporation experiments were conducted on limestone soil in karst areas with severe water leakage and susceptibility to cracking, using improved soil with corn straw biochar (CSB), rice husk biochar (RHB), and bagasse biochar (BB) at 0 %, 2 %, 4 %, and 6 % application rates, respectively. Surface runoff (SR) and underground percolation (UP) were collected during rainfall events, whereas soil water storage (SWS) was measured after the rainfall events. Each sample was weighed at intervals during evaporation (3–5 days) to monitor the soil water content, and the corresponding crack morphology was photographed. The results indicated that SWS increased by 6.23 %–35.14 % while UP decreased by 11.39 %–49.95 % for the different types of biochar compared to the control. Biochar application increased the evaporation rate, but reduced the evaporation loss rate of soil water, allowing the soil to maintain a high water content for a longer evaporation period. The application of biochar inhibited crack propagation and reduced the final cracking degree, particularly when BB was applied. The biochar-amended soil had a smaller had lower crack ratio (Rcr), mean crack width (wcr), box-counting fractal dimension (Db), and crack network connectivity (Cnet) compared to the control. Based on our results, we suggest the application of 6 % CSB or BB to limestone soils in karst areas. This study provides a scientific basis for the use of biochar to increase soil water content and minimise cracking. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.

This thesis discloses a method for solving transformer load eigenvalues and weights, comprising processing of transformer load data, load analysis, extraction of eigenvalues, and solving for weights. The load analysis includes fitting algebraic polynomials of functions, residual plot validation, and F and R tests. Due to the diversity and time-varying nature of transformer loads, which leads to increased transformer losses, the analysis of transformer loads is carried out to solve this problem. Due to the complexity of the time-varying nature and diversity, there is no good solution at home or abroad, and there are disadvantages such as low accuracy, complex methods and relying mainly on the subjective judgement of the decision maker. The analysis of the load lies mainly in the analysis of eigenvalues and weights, and the method in this thesis starts with these two parts of the analysis in a simple way, using residual plots, F and R tests to assist in validating the algebraic polynomial of the fitted function to improve accuracy. The extracted eigenvalues best represent the stable value of output power in that typical subinterval as the mean of the load data. The use of a comprehensive subjective and objective weighting method takes into account the subjective judgement of the decision maker, supplemented by practical experience and combined with the actual situation, but also allows for objectivity, based on a solid foundation of mathematical model theory, so that subjectivity and objectivity are combined to ensure the reliability and practicality of the weights The weights in the method of this thesis refer to the proportion of the eigenvalues within each typical subinterval that are within the overall interval. © 2023 IEEE.

Uncertainties, including parametric and unstructured uncertainty, are the main obstacles for hydraulic systems to achieve high precision control. This paper investigates the asymptotic tracking problem of a pump-controlled hydraulic system subject to parametric uncertainties and matched and mismatched time-varying disturbances. First, a predefined performance function is introduced into the controller design to guarantee transient and final tracking accuracy. Then, a continuous differentiable friction model is utilized for feedforward compensation, reducing the designed conservativeness and improving the tracking performance. Moreover, robust terms suppress mismatched and matched disturbances and guarantee asymptotic stability. Adaptive dynamic surface control (ADSC) with nonlinear filters is adopted to reduce the burden of online calculation and improve control accuracy. As a result, a prescribed performance-based adaptive dynamic surface controller is proposed to achieve asymptotic tracking of a pump-controlled hydraulic system. The proposed control strategy is numerically verified and experimentally validated. © 2025 The Authors

This work develops an image-to-image target reconstruction network for capacitively coupled electrical resistance tomography. The novel target reconstruction network is constructed by two Unets to extract and fuse the multi-frequency features of the coarse images reconstructed by traditional image reconstruction algorithms, and incorporated with transfer learning to improve the generalization ability of the network. Experimental results show that the developed target reconstruction network is effective. The Unet-based image-to-image framework improves the target reconstruction quality with quantitatively higher image score. The introduced transfer learning strategy fills the gap between simulation data and experimental data, and further improves the performance of the network.

Steel plates are highly customized according to different customer demands. In this case, the outbound date, the specifications of the steel plates and the distribution of stacks must be simultaneously considered when the steel plates are stored in the yard. Improper storage of steel plates significantly increases the number of shuffles during outbound operations. To overcome the challenge, we propose an efficient steel plate storage scheme based on the actual scenario of existing steel plate distribution in the yard. Firstly, a model for steel plate storage scheduling is established to minimize the number of extra blocking plates. Then, three heuristic algorithms are designed to solve the problem. Comparative experiments are carried out to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. The experimental results show that the proposed method can sufficiently improve the efficiency of steel plates scheduling. © 2023 IEEE.

Boron-doped biochar(B-BC)was synthesized by pyrolysis using solid waste of sorghum straw as raw *** specific surface area of B-BC increased significantly by 2.38 times compared to that of pure *** enhancement allowed B-BC(0.3 g L^(−1))to achieve complete adsorption of 10 mg L^(−1)tartrazine(TTZ)within 40 ***,acidic conditions were more favorable for TTZ adsorption,achieving complete removal of TTZ in only 15 min at a pH of ***,the adsorption rate of TTZ by B-BC in the presence of 0.05 M Cl^(-)was approximately 2.12 times higher than that in the absence of Cl^(-).When other background electrolytes were present,excluding PO_(4)^(3−),complete adsorption of TTZ could also be achieved within 60 *** analysis and DFT calculations described the parameters of B-BC for TTZ adsorption,includingG(<0 kJ mol^(−1)),H(−2.199 kJ mol^(−1)),S(−6.068 J mol^(−1)K^(−1)),and the adsorption energy(E_(ads)=−0.6919 eV),indicating a tendency towards a spontaneous adsorption ***,the strong electron transfer ability of B-BC and the oxygen-containing groups promoted the activation of PDS and generation of active substances such as^(1)O_(2),O_(2)^(•−),and SO_(4)^(•−),thereby degrading TTZ into products with lower biological *** the added PDS was only 0.1 mM,the degradation rate constant of TTZ could reach 0.1481 min−***,boron doping enhanced the stability of biochar,enabling the complete removal of 10 mg L^(−1)TTZ even after recycling and *** summary,this study offers a practical solution for the resource utilization of solid waste sorghum straw and the treatment of TTZ-polluted wastewater.

To obtain a balance between strength and ductility in NiFeCoCrMn high-entropy alloy, the degree of dislocation strengthening was tuned via partial recrystallization during traditional thermomechanical processing(cold rolling and recrystallization). The tensile properties in each state were then examined. Significant improvements in uniform elongation and work hardening rate, with decrease in yield strength and ultimate tensile strength, are associated with increase in the recrystallized fraction, i.e., reductions in the degree of strain hardening. In particular, recrystallized fractions of 37% and 74% are obtained by annealing at 650 ℃ for 10 min and 15 min, respectively, which results in yield strengths of 1003 MPa and 742 MPa and uniform elongations of 4% and 24%, respectively. The strengthening is due to the unrecrystallized grains with a high density of dislocations, whereas the ductility benefits from the presence of recrystallized strain-free grains.
