In this paper, the contact parameters of beach sand are calibrated based on the discrete element method and the optimal design method, and the obtained parameters by calibration are used as input for the angle of repose simulation. The relative error between angle of repose simulation results and experimental results is 3.27%. Based on the penetration and shear tests, simulation models were constructed to study the pressure shear failure mechanism of beach sand under high-speed conditions. The high-speed penetration simulation shows that with the increase of the penetration rate, the influence area of the sinkage plate gradually increases, and the stress of sand particles also increases. When the penetration rate increased from 0.5 m/s to 8 m/s, the pressure on the plate increased 12.7 times, indicating that the bearing capacity of the sand increased significantly with the increase of the penetration rate. The high-speed shear simulation shows that in the stable shear stage, the average shear torque initially increases slightly with the increase of speed, and then decreases significantly when the speed exceeds 4 m/s. This is because as the shear rate increases, the disturbance of the soil by the shear plate increases, the velocity of soil particles increases, resulting in a decrease in the number of soil particles in contact with the shear plate, thereby reducing the shear torque. © 2025 by the authors.

Artificial bee colony algorithm for the protein structure prediction based on the toy model

The protein structure folding is one of the most challenging problems in the field of bioinformatics. The main problem of protein structure prediction in the 3D toy model is to find the lowest energy conformation. Although many heuristic algorithms have been proposed to solve the protein structure prediction (PSP) problem, the existing algorithms are far from perfect since PSP is an NP-problem. In this paper, we proposed an artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm based on the toy model to solve PSP problem. In order to improve the global convergence ability and convergence speed of the ABC algorithm, we adopt a new search strategy by combining the global solution into the search equation. Experimental results illustrate that the suggested algorithm can get the lowest energy when the algorithm is applied to the Fibonacci sequences and to four real protein sequences which come from the Protein Data Bank (PDB). Compared with the results obtained by PSO, LPSO, PSO-TS, PGATS, our algorithm is more efficient.

Development of an HCN dual laser for the interferometer on EAST

A two-color continuous wave（CW） discharge-pumped far-infrared（FIR） hydrogen cyanide（HCN） laser was developed as the source of an interferometer for measuring the line-averaged electron density in the Experimental advanced Superconducting Tokamak（EAST）. The output power of the dual laser system was about 120 m W from each laser on the 337 μm（0.89 THz）line. The polarization of each output beam was fixed using thin tungsten filaments and oscillated in the EH11 mode. Different megahertz intermediate frequencies（IF） and a slight frequency offset（～1 MHz） were generated in this system to replace the traditional rotating grating with～10 k Hz IF, and this can improve the time resolution of the interferometer significantly. The experimental result showed that different IF signals were obtained by successfully adjusting the cavity length. In particular, the beat frequency was captured at ～1.3 MHz by a Schottky mixer when the length of the resonant cavities was changed by 5 μm by an automatic adjustment system. In order to study the character of IF, a long time record of the IF signal was carried out,and the IF signal could be stabilized for a few minutes in the range of 2 MHz to 3 MHz. A realtime IF stability control system was initially designed for long pulse discharge experiments on the EAST. The ～MHz frequency response and good phase sensitivity of the dual laser HCN interferometer will allow the system to track fast density profiles and resolve fast MHD events,such as tearing/neoclassical tearing, disruptions, etc.

This paper presents a stratified image hiding scheme based on chaotic algorithm. In the pretreatment process chaotic sequences are used to encrypt the secret image. The histogram of the processed image is similar to that of white noise. A stratified secret data embedding thought is adopted in the embedding process. As the experimental results show, this algorithm has relatively large embedding capacity, good invisibility and robustness. © 2010 IEEE.

With the rapid development of DNA computing, people began to use DNA technology to encrypt information. In this paper, we combine the biological characteristics of DNA and the improved sequence of Logistic mapping method, encrypt the image. The biological characteristics of DNA can better scramble image pixel, and the improved sequence can better change the pixel values. The encryption effect of this paper is better than traditional encryption, and the correlation of adjacent pixels is very low. © 2010 IEEE.

Palmprint recognition has become popular and significant in many fields because of its high efficiency and accuracy in personal identification. In this paper, we present a scheme for palmprint features extraction based on deep convolutional neural network (CNN). The CNN, which naturally integrates low/mid/high-level feature, performs excellently in processing images, video and speech. We extract the palmprint features using the CNN-F architecture, and exactly evaluate the convolutional features from different layers in the network for both identification and verification tasks. The experimental results on public PolyU palmprint database illuminate that palmprint features from the CNN-F respectively achieve the optimal identification rate of 100% and verification accuracy of EER= 0.25%, which demonstrate the effectiveness and reliability of the proposed palmprint CNN features. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2018.

In the computational biology, DNA strand displacement technique is used to construct the logic gate model and molecular circuits. But with the increase of number of the reaction strands, the basic logic gates cannot meet the accuracy in the reaction process. This paper improved the logical unit OR gate, AND gate to solve this problem on the basic of the seesaw model and the mechanism of DNA strand displacement reaction. Since the basic circuit of the decoder is an array of AND gates, the improvement module is applied to the decoder. The molecular circuit of decoder is constructed to realize the dynamic link between the input signal and the output signal. It is concluded that the sensitivity and accuracy of the improved decoder in the molecular circuit is improved by the Visual DSD software. The improvement module laid the foundation for the development of molecular circuits. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2017.

Parallel corpora are essential resources for the construction of bilingual term dictionary of historical classics. To obtain large-scale parallel corpora, this paper proposes a sentence alignment method based on mode prediction and term translation pairs. On one hand, the method rebuilds the sentence alignment process according to characteristics of the translation of historical classics, and adds mode prediction into the sentence alignment. On the other hand, due to the lack of bilingual ancient Chinese dictionary, the method exploits the term translation pairs extracted from manually aligned sentence pairs to perform alignment. The method first predicts the alignment mode probability according to the character number, punctuation number and some characters of Chinese sentence, then performs sentence alignment using length alignment probability, term alignment probability and mode probability. Besides, the method selects anchor sentence pairs based on sentence length and predicted mode to prevent the spread of alignment errors. The experiment on "Shi Ji" demonstrates that mode prediction and term translation pair both enhance the performance of sentence alignment obviously. © 2014 CLP 2014 - 3rd CIPS-SIGHAN Joint Conference on Chinese Language Processing. Self-assembly is the process that the component form an ordered form or structure. Because of the biochemical characteristics of DNA molecules, they become a research emphasis in the field of selfassembly. DNA-based self-assembly technology has been widely used in the fields of nanometer machining, molecular circuit, polymer materials, and so on. DNA self-assembly is an effective mechanism that nanometer structure is built bottom-up. In order to overcome the problem that any kind of self-assembled model can only solve the single algorithm, in this paper, a new DNA self-assembly algorithmic model is designed to solve compound logic operators problem. Five types of DNA tiles are designed according to the characteristic of compound operation problem, namely Initial Tile, Process Tile, Operation Tile, End Tile and Boundary Tile. In recent years, Text-To-Speech (TTS) technology has developed rapidly. People have also been paying more attention to how to narrow the gap between synthetic speech and real speech, hoping that synthesized speech can be integrated with real rhythm. A rhythmic feature embedding method for Text-To-Speech was proposed in this thesis based on Tacotron2 model, which has arisen in the field of TTS in recent years. Firstly, rhythmic feature extraction through World vocoder can reduce redundant information in rhythmic features. Then, rhythmic feature fusion based on Variational Auto-Encoder (VAE) network can enhance rhythmic information. Experiments are carried out on the data set LJSpeech-1.0, and then subjective evaluation and objective evaluation are carried out on the synthesized speech respectively. Compared with the comparative literature, the subjective blind hearing test (ABX) score increased by 25%. At that same time, the objective Mel Cepstral Distortion value (MCD) declined to 12.77. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
