DNA sequence set design by improved genetic algorithm

It has been proved that information encoding and processing in DNA is an important problem for biomolecular computing, including the encoding design problem. In recent years, there has been growing interest in the applications of DNA encoding theory in genetics and bioengineering, especially in the construction of synthetic DNA strands. In the paper, we use the improved genetic algorithm to design DNA sequences with combinational constraints including h-distance (H), hamming distance (HD) and GC-content. Furthermore, we improve the theoretical lower bounds of DNA encoding satisfying the above combinational constraints by using improved genetic algorithm, comparing our experimental results with the previous work. From the results, we can see that we succeed in obtaining more DNA sequences and give practical values satisfying h-distance, hamming distance (HD) and GC-content, and shorten the range of DNA encoding bounds. As far as we know, these results we obtain are the first time, and provide the direction for the future work such as the research of theoretical bounds of DNA encoding and algorithms Copyright © 2014 American Scientific Publishers.

Traditional 3D NoC router may encounter the situations of congestion and hot spot. And it also doesn't have the function of multicast. In this paper, we present a new routing arithmetic called Multicast Rotational Routing Arithmetic (MRRA). It can handle several destination addresses at the same time, recombine packets, sent the same data to the different destination nodes, and avoid the congestion. The proposed algorithm is implemented by the new multicast 3D NoC router which is also proposed in this paper. The 3D NoC router is designed in Verilog HDL, simulated by Modelsim, synthesized and prototyped by Synplify and FPGA respectively. The experiment results show that the multicast router of MRRA can achieve a very good performance in terms of throughput and delay. The increased area utilization also can be tolerated. © 2014 IEEE.

Obstacle Avoidance Path Planning of Space Manipulator Based on Improved Artificial Potential Field Method

This paper proposes an approach about obstacle collision-free motion planning of space manipulator by utilizing a Configuration-Oriented Artificial Potential Field method in 3-D space environment. Firstly, the artificial potential field method, which is usually used in 2-D space, is extended to 3-D space. Secondly, improving the artificial potential field method enables to carry out obstacle avoidance planning for the configuration of entire space manipulator (including the end-effector and links). Finally, the approach is combined with the inverse kinematics calculation which is based on the Generalized Jacobian Matrix for planning a collision-free motion of space manipulator. At the end of the article, by simulating the method mentioned above, the validity of the proposed method is verified.

Because DNA self-assembly technique has its unique molecular function and control of nanomaterials synthesis, DNA computing model based on the self-assembly owns great prospects for development. At present, humans have been widely used image to record and express the objective world, and image also becomes a kind of extremely important multimedia information storage and transmission format. In order to enhance the security of image, people have started to use DNA self-assembly to study DNA cryptography-based image encryption. In this paper, design of image encryption-oriented DNA self-assembly is introduced. The paper gives the self-assembly definition of elementary XOR-DNA cellular automata and elementary T-shaped XOR-DNA cellular automata. Combined with the characteristics of image encryption, the design of image encryption self-assembly is given by the definition of elementary T-shaped DNA cellular automata. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2014.

Extracting semantic polarity of Chinese Multiword Expression, especially some newly generated Multiword Expression from internet(such as weibo or microblog), is an important task for sentiment analysis of web texts or other real word text as some Multiword Expressions can express more integrative sentiments than words units. This paper proposes a method that contains a novel latent discriminative algorithm, which attempts to attack this problem by integrating discriminative model and latent value model. Although Chinese Multiword Expressions consist of multiple words, the semantic polarity of the Multiword Expression is not just simple integration of polarities of the component words, as some words can invert the affective polarity so the Multiword Expressions can have totally opposite semantic polarity, such as ironic texts. In order to capture the property of such Multiword Expressions, hidden semi-CRF which includes a latent valuable layer, which can be used to address dual-sequence labeling tasks synchronously, is adopted. The method is tested experimentally by adopting a manually labeled set of positive and negative Multiword Expressions from microblog or other internet resources, and the experiments have shown very promising results, which is comparable to the best value ever reported. © 2014-IOS Press and the authors. Through the analysis and study of the emotional characteristics in Chinese micro-blog, this paper proposed a multidimensional sentiment classification method based micro-blog emotion classification, emoticon in micro-blog is adopted to train the support vector machine and divide micro-blog into seven types of emotions: happiness, fondness, sorrow, anger, fear, detestation and surprise. We used micro-blog emoticon to initial screen large-scale unmarked data, and automatically labeled them into seven types, then used this emotional corpus as training set to train the emotion classifier to classify micro-blog data into multiple emotion categories. The experimental results show that precision of unigram model for each type can reach 63.7%. Meanwhile, different feature selection methods for support vector machines and Naive Bayes classifier experiment have been adopted in the experiment, the precision and recall has reached more than 71%. © 2014 IEEE.

An improved collision detection algorithm based on OBB

In this paper, we present an effective algorithm based on the Oriented Bounding Box (OBB). Particularly, the article focus on how to reduce the amount of the time that the intersection of bounding boxes are detected for increasing the efficiency of collision detection algorithm through the following three steps. Firstly, the detection time of bounding box intersection is decreased by a pre-treatment method. Secondly, we optimize the traversal approach of the bounding box tree and reduce the depth of the two fork tree under take into account the temporal and spatial correlation of motion of virtual environment. Then, we reduce the breadth of tree result from this algorithm compares the distance between the bounding boxes and traverse the node of distance that near the tree. At last, the validity of the algorithm is verified by programming simulations.

Biomedical relations play an important role in biological processes. In this work, we combine information filtering, grammar parsing and network analysis for gene-disease association extraction. The proposed method first extracts sentences potentially containing information about gene-diseases interactions based on maximum entropy classifier with topic features. And then Probabilistic Context-Free Grammars is applied for gene-disease association extraction. The network of genes and the disease is constituted by the extracted interactions, network centrality metrics are used for calculating the importance of each gene. We used breast cancer as testing disease for system evaluation. The 31 top ranked genes and diseases by the weighted degree, betweenness, and closeness centralities have been checked relevance with breast cancer through NCBI database. The evaluation showed 83.9% accuracy for the testing genes and diseases, 74.2% accuracy for the testing genes. © 2014 Association for Computational Linguistics

Quickly recovering and securing the advanced vehicle performance by changing structures, upgrading equipment become a key point to win the modern war. The armored vehicle is a complicated coupling system and the structure components are closely connected. Thus the change design is a complicated coupling system design problem. We provide the-state-of-art of the change design in response to environmental changes, and discuss the key technologies of armored vehicle adaptive change design responding to complex environment (AVACDCE). We also discuss design strategies and principles, change design decision and environmental adaptability evaluation, structural conflict elimination, performance optimization and layout optimization design in the limited space, and interface and assembly. In additional, we provide the design flow of the AVACDCE. Our studies can provide support for the armored vehicle adaptive change design responding to the complicated environment. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Multi-depot vehicle routing problem (MDVRP for short) is complex and a typical NP-Hard problem in manufactories, especially in assembly plant. We herein present an ant colony algorithm with memory grouping list (ACMGL for short) to solve this problem. To handle affiliation between clients and depots, we present certain point grouping (CP Grouping) and uncertain point grouping (UP Grouping) and obtain variable grouping purposes, make a grouping memory list for each depot store the optimal value and path of uncertain grouping after UP grouping, and thus improve the efficiency of the operation. Experimental results verified our algorithm in the computational efficiency. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
