A semi-automatic laser bonding system is developed to provide a localized heating manner for semiconductor device and MEMS encapsulation, especially for devices which have thermal-sensitive materials inside. This system consists of five modules, including laser module, motion module, fixture module, monitoring module and control module. Several bonding tests are carried out using this system with different sets of system parameters, including laser power, laser beam radius and laser moving velocity. Good bonding results are achieved with proper combinations of the system parameters, which also certifies this system is workable.

On the basis of the analysis to the framework of AM-OLED display controllers, a key module — synchronous module is studied. In this paper, a FIFO circuit(first in first out) is designed using Gray convert technology and dual-port ram, which realizing scatheless transmit between different clock domain. The working principle of FIFO is analyzed, and the optimized FIFO circuit structure was put forward to improve the working stability of the FIFO. The synchronous module circuit was implemented by Verilog HDL language simulated through VCS(Verilog compiled simulator). The design had been applied successfully to a type of full colour TFTLED panel driver controller with gray levels 256, frame scanning frequency 60 Hz ~ 100 Hz. The testing results showed that this controller worked well with a stable and vivid display.

Seam carving is a new image retargeting method, which can alleviate the distortion on the main content of the image compared to the traditional scaling method. However, the original seam carving method uses the gradient amplitudes of pixels to construct the energy map, but neglects the gradient directions of pixels. Actually, the gradient direction refers to the direction where the pixel has the maximum rate of change. We can use the gradient direction of pixels to construct the direction map, and then naturally generate multiple seams from top to bottom based on the direction map. In addition, we use the priority windows to avoid intersecting seams. Experimental results show that our method can accelerate the speed of seam carving about 98 times while maintaining the quality of the image retargeting result.

Depth estimation is an active research area with the developing of stereo vision in recent years. It is one of the key technologies to resolve the large data of stereo vision communication. Now depth estimation still has some problems, such as occlusion, fuzzy edge, real-time processing, etc. Many algorithms have been proposed base on software, however the performance of the computer configurations limits the software processing speed. The other resolution is hardware design and the great developments of the digital signal processor (DSP), and application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) and field programmable gate array (FPGA) provide the opportunity of flexible applications. In this work, by analyzing the procedures of depth estimation, the proper algorithms which can be used in hardware design to execute real-time depth estimation are proposed. The different methods of calibration, matching and post-processing are analyzed based on the hardware design requirements. At last some tests for the algorithm have been analyzed. The results show that the algorithms proposed for hardware design can provide credited depth map for further view synthesis and are suitable for hardware design.

The quality of virtual view based on multi-view video (MVD) plus depth format is often evaluated by PSNR or subjectively judged. However, due to synthesizing arbitrary view images, the virtual view images mostly have no reference images and are only assessed using non-reference. Virtual view images synthesized by depth estimation reference software (DERS) and view synthesis reference software (VSRS) often accompanied with blockiness and other distortions on the edge. In addition, matching level for the depth map and the corresponding texture maps of left and right views also affects the quality of the virtual view. This paper compares the edge similarity of the depth and the corresponding texture maps which generate the intermediate virtual view and combined with the virtual view's blockiness which causing blur to evaluate the quality of the virtual view. Experiment results show that the proposed method can reflect the quality of the virtual view better.

Microprocessor performance has improved rapidly these years. In contrast, memory latencies and bandwidths have improved little. The result is that the memory access time has been a bottleneck which limits the system performance. Memory controller (MC) is designed and built to attacking this problem. The memory controller is the part of the system that, well, controls the memory. The memory controller is normally integrated into the system chipset. This paper shows how to build an advanced Microcontroller Bus Architecture (AMBA) compliant MC as an advanced High-performance Bus (AHB) slave. The MC is designed for system memory control with the main memory consisting of SRAM and ROM. Additionally, the problems met in the design process are discussed and the solutions are given in the paper.
