Depth maps are used for synthesis virtual view in free-viewpoint television (FTV) systems. When depth maps are derived using existing depth estimation methods, the depth distortions will cause undesirable artifacts in the synthesized views. To solve this problem, a 3D video quality model base depth maps (D-3DV) for virtual view synthesis and depth map coding in the FTV applications is proposed. First, the relationships between distortions in coded depth map and rendered view are derived. Then, a precisely 3DV quality model based depth characteristics is develop for the synthesized virtual views. Finally, based on D-3DV model, a multilateral filtering is applied as a pre-processed filter to reduce rendering artifacts. The experimental results evaluated by objective and subjective methods indicate that the proposed D-3DV model can reduce bit-rate of depth coding and achieve better rendering quality.

Isotropic conductive adhesives (ICAs) with stable contact resistance and high thermal conductivity are highly desirable. In this paper, a new ICA filled with silver fillers and singlewall carbon nanotubes (SCNTs) was developed. SCNTs were acidified in a mixture of 98% H2SO4 and 68% HNO3 with a volume rate of 3:1 at 50 0C for 3 h. Carboxyl and hydroxyl groups were produced on SCNTs, and the purity of SCNTs also greatly improved. To prepare the ICAs, acidified SCNTs were firstly ultrasonically dispersed in acetone, then added into the matrix resin, and finally mixed with silver fillers. The bulk resistivity of the fabricated ICAs filled with silver fillers and acidified SCNTs was larger, their lap shear strength lower, their contact resistance stability improved, and their moisture absorption remained almost unchanged. In the curing process, the released heat was greatly reduced and transferred to the surroundings for good thermal conductivity of SCNTs, but the curing temperature was not affected. Therefore, acidified SCNTs can be used in ICAs, and in general, will create a good effect on ICAs.

Indium-Tin-Oxide (ITO) film prepared by DC magnetron sputtering was used as a current spread layer for LEDs. After the annealing treatment, the physical prosperities of p-GaN based LED have been investigated. The N2 annealing improved the surface roughness of ITO film to reach the smallest value (8 nm RMS) and exhibited an ohmic contact for ITO/p-GaN interface with the forward voltage decreasing. In comparison with electron beam evaporation, the ITO film prepared by DC magnetron sputtering had better optical and electronic prosperities after the annealing treatment.

Fluid dispensing was one of the main packaging technologies in the electronics industry. This study developed a control system for the adhesive jetting machine to match the no-contact requirement with high frequency and *** main control body was the computer and the control objects were the motion platform, jetting dispenser and temperature controller. The system had two control levels: the top level for the body and the bottom level for the objects. The developed software applied a hybrid programming based on Lab VIEW and Motion Assist 2.0 to provide a better operation performance and friendly interface. The prototype machine could achieve the programmed tasks after the mechanical structure and control system fabrication and the developed software installation.

High-power LEDs have been widely used and have a big potential market due to the many advantages compared to conventional light sources. Reliability is one of the most important issues for the application of LEDs. In order to study the degradation mechanism and the stability of LED withstanding cyclical exposures to temperature variations, life test was carried out under temperature cycle testing. The experiment was designed basing on the EIAJ ED-4701/100. Four groups of 1 W high power LEDs adopting different material and structures were utilized. The temperature cycle accelerated life test under the condition of -25℃/125℃. After the accelerated test, the optical performance of the four kinds of devices were compared and analyzed, and the thermal performance of the LEDs was also tested, analyzed and discussed. At last, the reliability differences of high-power LEDs were analyzed and degradation mechanism of high power LEDs under temperature cycling was discussed.

With the rapid development of technologies for high density assembly and packaging in electronic industry, isotropic conductive adhesive (ICA) has been paid more and more attention as a potential substitute for solder, due to its advantages of low processing temperature, simple processing conditions and good manufacturability. However, studies into the reliability of ICA are not as abundant as those of solder. As a composite material, the failure feasibility of ICA not only depends not only on the variation in performance of different constituent parts, such as high temperature aging of the polymer, aging due to moisture absorption and oxidization of filler particles, but also on interface changes. Thus, the failure mechanism of ICA seems to be complicated and studies into the reliability of ICA are also necessary. Reliability in humidity and heat has been investigated in previous works, and in this paper high temperature reliability will be studied as a comparison. Some reliability tests and results will be given and some failure mechanisms discussed. Finally, we present some discussion about the further optimization of reliability for follow-up studies.
