Partial label learning (PLL) addresses situations where each training example is associated with a set of candidate labels, among which only one corresponds to the true class label. As the candidate labels often come from crowdsourced workers, their generation is inherently dependent on the features of the instance. Existing PLL methods primarily aim to resolve these ambiguous labels to enhance classification accuracy, overlooking the opportunity to use this feature dependency for causal representation learning. This focus on accuracy can make PLL systems vulnerable to stylistic variations and shifts in domain. In this paper, we explore the learning of causal representations within an instance-dependent PLL framework, introducing a new approach that uncovers identifiable latent representations. By separating content from style in the identified causal representation, we introduce CausalPLL+, an algorithm for instance-dependent PLL based on causal representation. Our algorithm performs exceptionally well in terms of both classification accuracy and generalization robustness. Qualitative and quantitative experiments on instance-dependent PLL benchmarks and domain generalization tasks verify the effectiveness of our approach. © 2025, Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (***). Multimodal sarcasm detection aims to identify whether utterances express sarcastic intentions contrary to their literal meaning based on multimodal information. However, existing methods fail to explore the model's "ability to understand" the semantics expressed by sentences in the image context from semantic diversity perspectives. In this paper, we propose a multi-view semantic awareness method, which concretizes semantics from multiple perspectives to improve the model's ability to capture different semantic features. Specifically, two learnable prefixes are attached to the text representation respectively to construct semantic representations from both the literal meaning and sarcastic intention perspectives. Then, image-text information is further fused through cross-attention to guide the semantic representation of different perspectives in the image context. Finally, the semantics expressed by prefixes are strengthened through KL divergence, thereby encouraging the model to capture two distinctive semantic features. Experiments on benchmark datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our method. © 2025 IEEE.

Multi-instance partial-label learning: towards exploiting dual inexact supervision

Weakly supervised machine learning algorithms are able to learn from ambiguous samples or labels, e.g., multi-instance learning or partial-label learning. However, in some real-world tasks, each training sample is associated with not only multiple instances but also a candidate label set that contains one groundtruth label and some false positive labels. Specifically, at least one instance pertains to the ground-truth label while no instance belongs to the false positive labels. In this paper, we formalize such problems as multi-instance partial-label learning(MIPL). Existing multi-instance learning algorithms and partial-label learning algorithms are suboptimal for solving MIPL problems since the former fails to disambiguate a candidate label set, and the latter cannot handle a multi-instance bag. To address these issues, a tailored algorithm named MIPLGP, i.e., multi-instance partial-label learning with Gaussian processes, is *** first assigns each instance with a candidate label set in an augmented label space, then transforms the candidate label set into a logarithmic space to yield the disambiguated and continuous labels via an exclusive disambiguation strategy, and last induces a model based on the Gaussian processes. Experimental results on various datasets validate that MIPLGP is superior to well-established multi-instance learning and partial-label learning algorithms for solving MIPL problems.

Human skeleton data, which has served in the aspect of human activity recognition, ought to be the most representative biometric characteristics due to its intuitivity and visuality. The state-of-the-art approaches mainly focus on improving modeling spatial correlations within graph topologies. However, the interframes motional representations are also of vital importance, and we argue that they are worth paying attention to and exploring. Therefore, a temporal refinement module with contrastive learning mechanism is proposed, fuzing as a complementary to the conventional spatial graph convolution layer. In addition, in order to further exploiting the interframe variances and generalizing graph convolutional network (GCN) operation to temporal dimension, a temporal-correlation matrix is introduced to effectively capture dynamic dependencies within frame-pairs, enhancing semantic feature representation. Moreover, since GCN is a typical local operator which lacks of capability to fully model the long-term relations along spatial and temporal variation, to move beyond the limitation, a spatial-temporal cascaded aggregation (STCA) module is designed to enlarge the receptive filter scale. The overall recognition framework consists of three above novelties, which is capable of achieving remarkable performance by evaluating on benchmark datasets (i.e., NTU RGB+D 60, NTU RGB+D 120, PKU-MMD, and Kinetics Skeleton 400). Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed framework, e.g., performing recognition accuracy rate of 90.9% and 96.8% on NTU RGB+D 60, 87.9% and 88.9% on NTU RGB+D 120. © 2020 IEEE.

To address the challenges associated with insufficiently extracting and utilizing features at different levels, overlooking the connection between label meanings and text, and facing problems of over-compression or information loss when extracting global information using recurrent neural networks in the field of multi-label text categorization, this paper introduces an innovative model known as MFFLEN (MultiFeature Fusion and Label Embedding Neural network). First, a back-translated enhanced label set is constructed by back-translated splicing enhancement of the original label set. This set, together with the text, is then input into the embedding layer, which consists of the pre-trained model of bert-baseChinese, thus establishing the initial connection between the text and the labels within the same vector space. Then, to comprehensively extract multi-level semantic features, the model uses a convolutional layer to extract local features and an embedding layer to extract sentence-level features. A bidirectional attention embedded GRU (BAE-GRU) layer is used to extract hybrid finegrained features, which are then fed into the attention layer to further extract hybrid labeled features based on labeling information. Finally, these three different types of features are fused and multi-label text classification results are obtained using a classifier. The experiments proved that the MFFLEN model achieved 73.82% and 88.44% macro-F1 and 88.00% and 88.86% micro-F1 on the two datasets CAIL 2018 Small and CAIL 2018 Split, respectively, which is better than other baseline models. © 2024 IEEE.

This article presents and implements a firmware upgrade solution for embedded systems, which aims to address the vulnerability of using the same file that can be easily copied or stolen. When upgrading firmware, a txt file is sent by the upper-level software, which is encrypted using the SM4 algorithm. This encryption is based on a hardware-unique ID and a pre-stored upper-level software-unique ID, which act as encryption keys. During the upgrade, a secure downloader utilizes its hardware-unique ID and a pre-stored upper-level software-unique ID as decryption keys to decrypt the file. If the decryption key does not match the encryption key, the decrypted txt file will not be readable. Once decrypted, the firmware is downloaded to the target device using BSL (Bootstrap Loader) technology. Practical tests have shown that this method can achieve "one file, one key,"effectively preventing unauthorized use of the upgraded firmware. © 2024 SPIE.

'security first' is the most concerned issue of Linux administrators. security refers to the integrity of data. The authentication security and integrity of data are higher than the privacy security of data. Firewall is used to realize the function of access control under Linux. It is divided into hardware or software firewall. No matter in which network, the firewall must work at the edge of the network. Our task is to define how the firewall works. This is the firewall's policies and rules, so that it can detect the IP and data in and out of the network. At present, there are three or four layers of firewalls on the market, which are called network layer firewalls, and seven layers of firewalls, which are actually the gateway of the agent layer. But for the seven layer firewall, no matter what your source port or target port, source address or target address is, it will check all your things. Therefore, the seven layer firewall is more secure, but it brings lower efficiency. Therefore, the usual firewall schemes on the market are a combination of the two. And because we all need to access from the port controlled by the firewall, the work efficiency of the firewall has become the most important control of how much data users can access. This paper introduces two types of firewalls iptables and TCP_Wrappers. What are the differences between the use policies, rules and structures of the two firewalls? With the quick advancement in text generation ability of Large Language Model(LLM), concerns about the misuse of machine-generated text(MGT) have grown, raising potential violations of legal and ethical standards. Some existing studies concentrate on detecting machine-generated text in open-source models using in-model features, but their performance on closed-source large models is limited. This limitation occurs because, in the closed-source model detection, the only reference that can be obtained is the texts, which may differ significantly due to random sampling. In this paper, we demonstrate that texts generated by the same model can align both semantically and statistically under similar prompts, facilitating effective detection and traceability. Specifically, we fine-tune a BERT encoder through contrastive learning to achieve semantic alignment in randomly generated texts from the same model. Then, we propose a method called Machine-Generated Text Detection with Rewritten Texts, which designed several prompt refactoring methods and used them to request rewritten text from LLMs. Semantic and statistical relationships between rewritten and original texts provide a basis for detection and traceability. Finally, we expanded the text dataset with multi-parameter random sampling and verified the performance of MAGRET on three text-generated datasets. Experimental results show that previous methods struggle with closed-source model detection, while our approach significantly outperforms baseline methods in this regard. It also shows MAGRET's stable performance in detection and tracing tasks across various randomly sampled texts. © 2025 Association for Computational Linguistics.

Automated skin lesion classification in dermoscopy images remains challenging due to the existence of artefacts and intrinsic cutaneous features, diversity of lesion morphology, insufficiency of training data, and class imbalance problem. To address these challenges, we propose a new densely connected convolutional network termed AttDenseNet-121, which is obtained by integrating the convolutional block attention module (CBAM) into DenseNet-121. CBAM is a simple yet efficient attention module, which is further improved by adding a novel pooling layer (multiscale-pooling) to effectively enhance its attention capability. The optimized CBAM strengthens the representation power of DenseNet-121 by emphasizing meaningful features and suppressing unnecessary ones, thus significantly enhancing the classification performance. Besides, to handle the imbalanced dataset, we employ an improved focal loss function rather than the traditional cross-entropy loss function to train AttDenseNet-121. The improved focal loss is calculated from a different perspective compared with the original focal loss. It makes the distribution of positive samples and negative samples in each batch the same as that in the original data, successfully mitigating the negative influence of class imbalance on this multi-class classification task. We conduct extensive experiments on the public benchmark dataset (HAM10000) and the results indicate that our proposed method achieves superior performance compared with that of the baselines and state-of-the-art algorithms. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.
