Point clouds from real-world scenarios inevitably contain complex noise, significantly impairing the accuracy of downstream tasks. To tackle this challenge, cascading encoder-decoder architecture has become a conventional technical route to iterative denoise. However, circularly feeding the output of denoiser as its input again involves the re-extraction of underlying surface, leading to unstable denoising process and over-smoothed geometric details. To address these issues, we propose a novel denoising paradigm dubbed PD-Refiner that employs a single encoder to model the underlying surface. Then, we leverage several lightweight hierarchical Underlying Surface Inheritance Refiners (USIRs) to inherit and strengthen it, thereby avoiding the re-extraction from the intermediate point cloud. Furthermore, we design adaptive edge-aware supervision to improve the edge awareness of the USIRs, allowing for the adjustment of the denoising preferences from global structure to local details. The results demonstrate that our method not only achieves state-of-the-art performance in terms of denoising stability and efficacy, but also enhances edge clarity and point cloud uniformity. © 2024 ACM.

Group Emotion Recognition (GER) seeks to identify emotional states within multi-person groups. The complexity of the environment and the reliance on a single group emotion label often result in noisy individuals with inconsistent emotional expressions, hampering accurate emotion classification. Mainstream GER networks attempt to downweight noisy individuals, but when their numbers are high and over-relying on a single group label, the negative impact of noise on individuals remains significant, further complicating classification and diminishing accuracy. To address these limitations, we propose the Multi-Scale Contextual and Noise Suppression Model (MCon-NSM), a novel framework that enhances GER by capturing fine-grained interaction contexts and collaboratively suppressing noise at both the individual and group label levels. Extensive experiments on the GAF series datasets demonstrate that our method achieves results comparable to state-of-the-art techniques, validating its effectiveness in mitigating noise in GER. © 2025 IEEE.

Due to its open-source nature, Android operating system has been the main target of attackers to exploit. Malware creators always perform different code obfuscations on their apps to hide malicious activities. Features extracted from these obfuscated samples through program analysis contain many useless and disguised features, which leads to many false negatives. To address the issue, in this paper, we demonstrate that obfuscation-resilient malware family analysis can be achieved through contrastive learning. The key insight behind our analysis is that contrastive learning can be used to reduce the difference introduced by obfuscation while amplifying the difference between malware and other types of malware. Based on the proposed analysis, we design a system that can achieve robust and interpretable classification of Android malware. To achieve robust classification, we perform contrastive learning on malware samples to learn an encoder that can automatically extract robust features from malware samples. To achieve interpretable classification, we transform the function call graph of a sample into an image by centrality analysis. Then the corresponding heatmaps can be obtained by visualization techniques. These heatmaps can help users understand why the malware is classified as this family. We implement IFDroid and perform extensive evaluations on two datasets. Experimental results show that IFDroid is superior to state-of-the-art Android malware familial classification systems. The Broad Learning System (BLS) has been extensively developed and applied across various fields due to its significant advantages, including high efficiency, strong generality, and scalability. However, in practical applications where both inputs and outputs are contaminated by noise, traditional BLS demonstrates suboptimal performance in handling sample data. This study introduces a novel regularized total least squares broad learning system (RTLS-BLS) designed to enhance the robustness of BLS when noisy values are present in both the input and the output of the training set. Initially, the k-support norm is integrated into the BLS-based autoencoder (BLS-AE), embedded within BLS, to extract robust features from the original input data. The BLS-AE equipped with the k-support norm effectively addresses or mitigates issues related to overly sparse (based on L1-norm) or overly dense (based on L2-norm) regularization of extracted features. Subsequently, regularized total least squares (RTLS) are employed to assess the output weights of BLS, further enhancing its robustness. Moreover, simultaneous perturbation measures for the coefficient matrix and the output are provided. Experimental results from two function approximation tasks, eight benchmark regression tasks, and two network interface flow datasets demonstrate that the proposed RTLS-BLS achieves significantly robust performance under noisy conditions compared to other methods. © 2025 Codon Publications. knowledge graphs (KGs) play an increasingly im-portant role in many knowledge-aware tasks. However, existing KGs are struggle with incompleteness, which motivates knowledge graph completion (KGC), that is, predicting the lost links between entities based on observed triples. Reasoning over relation paths in incomplete KGs is popular. Nonetheless, some significant issues are still remained to be addressed, such as path noise and ambiguity of inferred relation. To address these problems, we propose a novel path augmented _Reasoning model with avoidance of Path noise and Disambiguation of inferred relation in this paper, referred to as RPD. In this model, we calculate the sum of resource allocation for each relation path to measure its reliability to avoid the inference of path noise. To address the ambiguity of an inferred relation, we introduce position embedding to denote the relation position along the path when learning path representation. Extensive experiments conducted on benchmark datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposal RPD model in the handling of KGC tasks compared to SOTAs.

Semi-supervised semantic segmentation (SSS), which allows for learning a better model with a small fraction of labeled samples and a large amount of unlabeled ones, is valuable yet challenging in medical image analysis. Recent works (e.g., UniMatch) have found that weak-to-strong consistency via augmentation is especially conducive to SSS training. However, they inadvertently introduce cognitive biases for unlabeled images, making it difficult to segment accurately near the target's edge regions. In this paper we present a lightweight bias-correct module to self-correct these mistakes between the strong perturbations. Based on it, we design a new framework named BcMatch by plugging it into UniMatch to reduce such cognitive biases stemming from incorrect pseudo-labels for unlabeled images. Moreover, we also introduce a bias correction loss, which works in tandem with the consistency loss to guide the model learning, focusing more on the edge regions of the targets. Experiments on the representative semi-supervised segmentation dataset, ACDC, demonstrate our BcMatch surpasses UniMatch by a large margin, attaining new state-of-the-art performance. Academic collaboration has become one of the topics of large-scale social network analysis. The information extracted from academic collaboration also shows the contextual value in combination with other data. For academic collaborative social networks with intricate collaborative relationships, previous research methods mainly focused on network structure and community discovery, lacking in mining the characteristics of relationships in collaborative networks. There were some limitations in the research perspective. In this work, we propose a collaborative relationship representation method that is more suitable for academic collaborative social networks. It marks the attribute characteristics of nodes in collaborative relationships and highlights collaborative relationships in visualization. By adopting this new representation of collaborative relationships, we designed a visual analysis framework NcoVis, to visualize academic collaborative social networks. We further visually analyze the link relationship groups guided by nodes, and explore the potential representation of the structure and attribute characteristics of link relationships, so that analysts can explore the theme and structural change characteristics of link relationships, communities and the whole network in collaborative social networks. To prove the proposed framework, we conducted a case study on the academic collaboration literature data set, and analyzed the questionnaire with Likert scale through the user evaluation experiment, which verified the effectiveness of our method and the practicability of NcoVis. © 2022 IEEE.

Disaster prevention, mitigation and relief have always been one of the core businesses of governance. However, there are a series of problems in disaster prevention, mitigation and relief business support, especially in the prevention and control of the risk of compound chain-generated natural disasters, such as insufficient sensing capability, low accuracy of monitoring and warning, and lagging assessment models. In order to cope with these challenges, the work of using tower big data for disaster analysis in complex environments is proposed. Currently, the number of communication towers in the country is huge and widely distributed, and they are affected by various abnormalities in natural disasters. Therefore, through the construction of the tower disaster big data analysis system, big data technology and tower data are used to enhance the effectiveness of disaster monitoring and early warning, and provide brand new support for the disaster prevention, mitigation and relief operations. © 2024 IEEE.

Synthetic aperture radar (SAR), as an active microwave remote sensor with high-resolution earth observation, is easily affected by radio frequency interference (RFI). Pulse radio frequency interference (PRFI), as a typical form of RFI, pollutes SAR raw data with bright stripes, which increases the difficulty of SAR image interpretation. However, the conventional eigen subspace projection (ESP) method decomposes the whole pulse into the interferences and the useful signals, resulting in the loss of useful signals in the non-interference positions with the pulse. To solve this problem, this paper proposes an improved SAR PRFI suppression method based on ESP. Firstly, the receiving pulses containing PRFI are detected and the specific position of PRFI in the pulse are determined by eigenvalue decomposition and energy accumulation in time-frequency domain, respectively. Secondly, the PRFI signal is separated from the useful signal by applying the ESP method only to the data where the PRFI is located. Finally, the PRFI signal projected by ESP is eliminated from the raw data. Simulation results shown that the proposed method can better protected useful signals and improve SAR image quality compared with conventional methods. © 2023 SPIE.

Task scheduling has a significant impact on the resource availability and operation cost of the system in cloud computing. In order to improve the efficiency of task execution in the cloud for a given computational resource, the improved whale optimization algorithm is applied to the multi-objective optimization model for cloud task scheduling. Specifically, the quasi-opposition-based learning strategy is added in the initiation phase to increase the diversity of the population. Meanwhile, a novel nonlinear convergence factor was introduced to augment the local search capability. Experimental results indicate that the improved whale optimization algorithm converges faster and searches with higher precision in finding the optimal task scheduling solution compared to existing meta-heuristic algorithms. In addition, the modified algorithm achieves superior system resource usage when dealing with both small and large tasks.
