We study the problem of answering queries given a set of mappings between peer ontologies. In addition to the schema mapping between peer ontologies, there are axioms to give constraints to classes and properties. We propose a set of rules to build graphs for the axioms. Because the axioms have different properties, the generated graphs are classified into four sets. In each peer, its RDF/OWL query languages can support regular expressions. If it wants to be transitive along semantic paths in peer knowledge management systems, we must rewrite conjunctive and disjunctive queries between peers. Because conjunctive queries are well-understood, we focus on a novel algorithm to rewrite disjunctive queries along semantic paths based on the graphs. For all atoms of a disjunctive query, we consider its union as a set and find the maximum rewritings over peers through a graphical way. Finally we do extensive simulation experiments. The simulation results show our algorithm can generate more rewritings than the naive rewriting algorithm at each distance.

The difficulties of modeling complex knowledge system lie in a large quantity of knowledge rules and the difficulty in organizing rules and grasping their mutual logical relationships. This article proposed a concept of hierarchical fuzzy Petri nets (HFPN), which is more suitable for modeling complex knowledge system than other fuzzy Petri net models. In addition, the concepts of abstract place and abstract transition in HFPN are allowed to describe and analyze the knowledge system at diverse abstract levels. Therefore, using HFPN, the iterative and incremental methods can be applied to modeling complex knowledge system. In addition, structured approach can be naturally applied to the process of modeling knowledge system.

For the problem of multimedia applications not obtain assuring service immediately after mobile IP handoff we propose dynamic policy and design the dynamic policy scheme of resource management in mobile IP. Based on the prediction information of the mobile node, the mechanism automatically produces dynamic policies to do admission control and to prepare resources before handoff occurs. And then it uses core policies existed as reference and applies product space conditional event algebra to trigger enforcement of dynamic policy. When the resources in access domain fell short of mobile nodes' requisition, it adopts "step back" arithmetic to update dynamic policies to further adjust resource possession according to the priority to assure the services credibility. By analysis, it is shown that this scheme can guarantee QoS of applications with higher priority and significantly improve the success rate of handoff. Also this management model is much more flexible than traditional methods.

It is very important in the field of bioinformatics to apply computer to perform the function annotation for new sequenced bio-sequences. Based on GO database and BLAST program, a novel method for the function annotation of new biological sequences is presented by using the variable-precision rough set theory. The proposed method is applied to the real data in GO database to examine its effectiveness. Numerical results show that the proposed method has better precision, recall-rate and harmonic mean value compared with existing methods.
