Artificial intelligence has attracted more and more attention and has been widely used in all walks of life, especially in the education industry;artificial intelligence has gradually become the core. Aiming at the problem of robot trajectory planning in artificial intelligence, this paper applies the project teaching method to the course of artificial intelligence, regards trajectory planning as a project, analyses and studies it, uses ant colony algorithm to find the optimal planning path. Through the teaching of the project, the students will understand the ant colony algorithm more deeply. The algorithm is programmed independently to achieve the final trajectory optimisation. Students become the main body of the classroom, give full play to the initiative and enthusiasm of the students, through the operation of the project to train the students' innovative ability and cooperation ability, and improve the overall quality of the college students. We theoretically propose the realization of a three-dimensional (3D) spin Hall effect (SHE) of light by tightly focusing a linearly polarized light. Owing to the spin-orbital interaction in focusing, the left and right circularly polarized components of light are partly converted into each other, acquiring opposite vortex phases. As the superposition of the vortex and the initial vortex-free light, the two polarized components exhibit spiral intensity patterns which rotate oppositely around the propagation axis. Consequently, the two spin components are distributed alternatively in both the azimuthal and the longitudinal directions, leading to a 3D array of split spin components, and the transverse intensity is also spit asynchronously. Moreover, that array is rotatable by the incident polarization, and the longitudinal spacing in the array can be controlled by the numerical aperture of the lens. The 3D SHE of light finds an additional degree of freedom available to control the spin state of the photon, which may be valuable in optical manipulation and quantum information.

Carbon neutrality goals are driving the increased use of renewable energy (RE). Large-scale use of RE requires accurate energy generation forecasts; optimized power dispatch, which minimizes costs while satisfying operational constraints; effective system control to ensure a stable power supply; and electricity markets that support bidding and trading decisions associated with RE. However, the uncertainties in RE generation make renewable power systems challenging to operate. For example, the intermittent nature of wind power can make it difficult to balance the supply and demand of electricity in real time; therefore, traditional power sources could be needed to meet the demand, which can increase electricity prices. This Review outlines the potential of artificial intelligence-based methods for supporting renewable power system operation. We discuss the ability of machine learning, deep learning and reinforcement learning methods to facilitate power system forecasts, dispatch, control and markets to support the use of RE. We also emphasize the applicability of these techniques to different operational problems. Finally, we discuss potential trends in renewable power system development and approaches to address the associated operational challenges such as the increasingly distributed nature of RE installations, diversification of energy storage systems and growing market complexity.

The robustness of the network is its ability to withstand unexpected failures. There is an urgent need to enhance the robustness of sparse networks as they are prone to breakage. Among the various ways to enhance network robustness measured by the edge connectivity of the entire network, shielding candidate edges is a popular method when redundant edges are not affordable. However, existing tree-cutting favors dense graphs with exponential cropped-tree growth of search space, but the search space only scales linearly in sparse graphs. We explore sparse-graph limitations by extending cropping to maximum depth while maintaining sublinear overhead, leveraging ancestor-node constraints and cropping-chain theorems for optimal efficiency. Compared with the optimal algorithm, the results in representative network types show that the robustness measurement of small-scale graphs can be enhanced to 100%, and the ratio of acceleration can be greater than 105. In large-scale graphs with millions of nodes, robustness can be improved to over 99%, while the time can be as low as tens of seconds. © 2013 IEEE.

An improved distributed nonlinear observer for leader-following consensus via differential geometry approach

This paper is concerned with the leader-following output consensus problem in the framework of distributed nonlinear observers. In stead of certain hypotheses on the leader system, a group of geometric conditions is put forward to develop a novel distributed observer strategy with less conservatism, thereby definitely improving the applicability of the existing results. To be more specific, the improved distributed observer can precisely handle consensus problems for some nonlinear leader systems which are invalid for the traditional strategies with the certain assumption, such as Elastic Shaft Single Linkage Manipulator (ESSLM) systems and most of first-order nonlinear systems. We prove the sufficient conditions for the exponential stability of our distributed observer's error dynamic by proposing two pioneered lemmas to show the relationship between the maximum eigenvalues of two matrices appearing in Lyapunov type matrices. Then, a partial feedback linearization method with zero dynamic proposed in differential geometry is employed to design a purely decentralized control law for the affine nonlinear multiagent system. With this advancement, the existing results can be regarded as a specific case owing to that the followers can be chosen as an arbitrary minimum phase affine smooth nonlinear system. At last, the novel distributed observer and the improved purely decentralized control law are applied in the distributed control framework to construct a closed-loop system. We also prove the stability of closed-loop system to achieve leader-following consensus, i.e., the distributed control framework is proved to satisfy certainty equivalence principle. This paper focuses on multi-agent systems with uncertain disturbances, in which only the bounding functions on the disturbances and the bounds on the initial state of each agent are known. By designing a neighborhood interval observer for this kind of multi-agent system, the estimation of the sum of the relative state of each agent associated with itself and its neighbors is frstly realized. Then, on the basis of these estimated information, local control algorithm is designed to drive the system to achieve bounded consensus.

As the solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) system work environment is a high-temperature environment for a long time, it is difficult to obtain the SOFC stack internal state change directly. When the fault occurs, it is difficult to determine where the fault occurs. Moreover, the existing literature ignores the impact of faults, which creates many problems for SOFC system control. Therefore, a state observer-based fault detection method, which is used to detect the input flow sensor fault and the fuel input fault, is proposed. Their advantage is that they do not need data processing. To realize the fault detection, the observer is used to track the changes of SOFC stack chamber temperature. To obtain the observer estimation parameter, an approach from the actual stack structure parameters is employed to approximate the observer parameters. The results show the proposed fault detect method can judge fuel input fault type quickly and shield the disturbances signals from the sensor effectively. The proposed method also can be used to other operating points or air input fault. © 2018 Chinese Automatic control Society and John Wiley & Sons Australia, Ltd

Pneumatic Muscles (PMs) - driven exoskeleton has a promising prospect in the field of rehabilitation and assistance, because of the PMs intrinsic features of compliance and high force-to-weight ratio. However, the precise control of PMs-driven exoskeleton still remains a challenging problem due to the hysteresis, time-varying parameters of PMs and complexity of the mechanism. To solve this problem, this paper presents a super twisting controller (STC), essentially a second-order sliding mode control, to realize the human gait tracking control of lower limb exoskeleton. As a result, the disturbances and uncertainties of the system can be handled, and the chattering caused by the traditional sliding mode control (SMC) could be eliminated. The stability of the closed-loop system is ensured according to the Lyapunov theorem. In addition, we conduct experiments in real exoskeleton system and the results illustrate the validity of the super twisting algorithm..

Rolling bearing faults are among the primary causes of breakdown in mechanical equipment. Aiming at the vibration signals of rolling bearing which are non-stationary and easy to be disturbed by noise, a novel fault diagnosis method based on curvelet transform and metric learning is proposed. This method consists of 3 parts. The first one is feature engineering which includes reshaping the original timing features of rolling bearings, employing curvelet transform to transform reshaped features and making its coefficients as the new features. Curvelet transform can analyse the original signal from many angles. The second one is employing metric learning to map these new features into special embedding space. The last one is applying KNN classifier to detect the rolling bearing faults. Metric learning can effectively improve the performance of KNN by learning a mapping matrix to modify the distribution of samples. The proposed method overcomes the problems such as the subjectivity and blindness of manual feature extraction, poor coupling in each stage and sensitive to the effect of noise. Extensive simulations based on several data-sets show that the our method has better performance on bearing fault diagnosis than traditional methods.

Optimize TSK fuzzy systems for regression problems: Mini-batch gradient descent with regularization, droprule, and adabound (MBGD-RDA)

Takagi-Sugeno-Kang (TSK) fuzzy systems are very useful machine learning models for regression problems. However, to our knowledge, there has not existed an efficient and effective training algorithm that ensures their generalization performance, and also enables them to deal with big data. Inspired by the connections between TSK fuzzy systems and neural networks, we extend three powerful neural network optimization techniques, i.e., mini-batch gradient descent (MBGD), regularization, and AdaBound, to TSK fuzzy systems, and also propose three novel techniques (DropRule, DropMF, and Drop-Membership) specifically for training TSK fuzzy systems. Our final algorithm, MBGD with regularization, DropRule and AdaBound (MBGD-RDA), can achieve fast convergence in training TSK fuzzy systems, and also superior generalization performance in testing. It can be used for training TSK fuzzy systems on datasets of any size;however, it is particularly useful for big datasets, on which currently no other efficient training algorithms exist.
