Although correlation filter based trackers have recently demonstrated excellent performance, they still suffer from the boundary effects. The cosine window is introduced to alleviate the boundary affects, which however may result in poor performance in case of occlusion or fast motion. To address this problem, we propose a simple yet effective framework, which builds a spatially attentive model with multiple features to guide the detection of the correlation filter based trackers. The proposed method not only can breakthrough the spatial extent of cosine window, but also can provides prior information about the target object. Moreover, to model a robust object prior, we propose a generic strategy for adaptive fusion and update of multiple features. Extensive experiments over multiple tracking benchmarks demonstrate the superior accuracy and real-time performance of our methods compared to the state-of-the-art trackers.

Based on the three elements model of pneumatic muscle actuators(PMA), this paper proposed a T-S fuzzy logic control with genetic algorithm optimization and achieved the trajectory tracking control of PMA. To guarantee the stability of control system, the Lyapunov direct method was used. And the LMI Toolbox of Matlab was used in this paper to solve linear matrix inequalities(LMls) and calculate the state feedback gains. Finally, the results of experiment demonstrated that, T-S fuzzy logic control with genetic algorithm optimization can achieve desired control performance, which overcome the chattering of trajectory tracking, reduced tracking error effectively and improved the accuracy of control.

In this paper,the distributed optimization problem is investigated under a second-order multi-agent *** the proposed algorithm,each agent solves the optimization via local computation and information exchange with its neighbors through the communication ***,in comparison with the existing second-order distributed optimization algorithms,the proposed algorithm is much simpler due to one coupled information exchange among the agents is *** achieve the optimization,the distributed algorithm is proposed based on the consensus method and the gradient *** optimal solution of the problem is thus obtained with the design of Lyapunov function and the help of LaSallel's Invariance Principle.A numerical simulation example and comparison of proposed algorithm with existing works are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the theoretical result.

Machine learning (ML) is revolutionizing research and industry. Many ML applications rely on the use of large amounts of personal data for training and inference. Among the most intimate exploited data sources is electroencephalogram (EEG) data, a kind of data that is so rich with information that application developers can easily gain knowledge beyond the professed scope from unprotected EEG signals, including passwords, ATM PINs, and other intimate data. The challenge we address is how to engage in meaningful ML with EEG data while protecting the privacy of users. Hence, we propose cryptographic protocols based on Secure Multiparty Computation (SMC) to perform linear regression over EEG signals from many users in a fully privacy-preserving (PP) fashion, i.e. such that each individual's EEG signals are not revealed to anyone else. To illustrate the potential of our secure framework, we show how it allows estimating the drowsiness of drivers from their EEG signals as would be possible in the unencrypted case, and at a very reasonable computational cost. Our solution is the first application of commodity-based SMC to EEG data, as well as the largest documented experiment of secret sharing based SMC in general, namely with 15 players involved in all the computations. Chimera states in spatiotemporal dynamical systems have been investigated in physical, chemical, and biological systems, and have been shown to be robust against random perturbations. How do chimera states achieve their robustness? We uncover a self-adaptation behavior by which, upon a spatially localized perturbation, the coherent component of the chimera state spontaneously drifts to an optimal location as far away from the perturbation as possible, exposing only its incoherent component to the perturbation to minimize the disturbance. A systematic numerical analysis of the evolution of the spatiotemporal pattern of the chimera state towards the optimal stable state reveals an exponential relaxation process independent of the spatial location of the perturbation, implying that its effects can be modeled as restoring and damping forces in a mechanical system and enabling the articulation of a phenomenological model. Not only is the model able to reproduce the numerical results, it can also predict the trajectory of drifting. Our finding is striking as it reveals that, inherently, chimera states possess a kind of “intelligence” in achieving robustness through self-adaptation. The behavior can be exploited for the controlled generation of chimera states with their coherent component placed in any desired spatial region of the system.

Deep learning is widely used in computer vision. In this study, we present a new method based on Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and subspace learning for face recognition under two circumstances. A very deep CNN architecture called VGG-Face, which learned on a large scale database, is used as feature extractor to extract the activation vector of the fully connected layer in the CNN architecture. Then, two types of subspace learning methods, namely, linear discriminate analysis (LDA) and whitening principal component analysis (WPCA), are respectively introduced to learn the subspace of the activation vectors for face recognition under multiple samples per subject and single sample per subject circumstances. The goals of applying subspace learning to the activation vectors are obtaining compact representation (dimensionality reduction) and performance improvement. Experiments on two face databases (CMU PIE and FERET) demonstrate the effectiveness of VGG-Face + LDA and VGG-Face + WPCA, compared with state-of-the-art methods. © 2017 IEEE.

This paper investigates second-order consensus of networked systems with heterogeneous intrinsic nonlinear dynamics via a geometrical method, in which the nonlinear dynamics are governed by both velocity and position. First, two necessary conditions are deduced for the existence of consensus solutions by analyzing the inherent nonlinear dynamics of isolated nodes. Then a closed invariant set is constructed via geometrical methods. The nonempty of the set implies the existence of consensus solution. Assuming that the primary and the second dimension about the above invariant set are the same linear subspace, the system can be divided into two simple subsystems through a linear transformation. In addition, some sufficient conditions are proposed for reaching the global consensus based on matrix theory and Lyapunov method. Finally, numerical simulation results are provided to illustrate the validity of theoretical analysis. IEEE

As the main force of power generation in China, coal-fired power plants have great significance for energy conservation and emission reduction. The oxygen content in flue gases is an important index to reflect the combustion efficiency of the boiler, and the accurate monitoring is an effective way to improve combustion efficiency. Based on the BP neural network, a soft-sensing model for oxygen content in flue gases is proposed in this paper, this article, taking a boiler combustion system of 600 MW coal-fired power plant unit in Jiaxing, Zhejiang as the research object, through real-time measurement data of DCS system, a flue gases oxygen content model is established, and this model has realized the soft measurement to flue gases oxygen content, the simulation results prove the validity of the soft sensing model. This model has great significance to the monitoring of the oxygen content in flue gases of boiler combustion system and the further study of combustion optimization on this basis.

Economic dispatch is one of the fundamental problems in the power system research. The existing algorithms are either discrete iterative algorithms or continuous-time dynamical algorithms. By virtue of the hybrid techniques, a hybrid consensus-based algorithm is proposed in this paper, which consists of a finite-time continuous-time algorithm and a discrete-time interacted scheme. Moreover, inspired by the cluster synchronization and the benefit of the projection operator, a supervised strategy is carried out to ensure that each generator unit will work within its power generation constraint. For a better understanding of the supervised hybrid distributed algorithm, the detailed pseudo-code is presented. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the algorithm. © 2017
