The significant progress of vision-language pre-trained models (VLMs) and large language models (LLMs) have provided a feasible new mode for image captioning, which relies on VLMs to process images and then utilizes LLMs to generate captions, simplifying the caption generation process and making it lighter. Based on this mode, to address the issues of deviation between the generated captions and the content of image expressions, incomplete descriptive information, and resource hungry in previous Chinese image captioning models, we propose a Chinese image captioning model via double decoding based on Visual Prompts, DDVP. This model employs the CLIP model as the encoder, the GPT2 model as the decoder, and introduces Visual Prompts, which are keywords related to image content. The model adopts a double decoding approach, first decoding to generate Visual Prompts and then decoding to generate the final captions based on the Visual Prompts. Through evaluation, we have demonstrated that our model achieves competitive results on the AIC-ICC dataset, and while maintaining fluency, the generated captions of DDVP can also cover the information in the image more comprehensively and accurately. © 2024 SPIE.

Nowadays, image recognition plays a pivotal role in acquiring data via sensors. However, the adaptability of traditional algorithms is hindered by the unpredictable nature of open environments, varying sensor quality, and image dimensions. Challenges arise in adverse conditions like inclement weather, low light, and optical distortions. Retinex-based methods have emerged as a viable solution, effectively enhancing images plagued by shadows or poor lighting. Yet, issues surface when images possess saturated colors;the conventional multi-scale Retinex with color restoration risks color inversion. Moreover, during gain compensation, extreme histogram values occupy significant gray level space, obscuring vital image details. This study delves into these challenges and proposes an enhanced multi-scale Retinex algorithm. Our approach substitutes logarithmic functions with tansig functions, eliminating color inversion risks. Additionally, a novel gain compensation method, integrating histogram stretching with Gamma correction, refines image clarity. The algorithm's robustness is evidenced in diverse scenarios, including adverse weather, low light, underwater imaging, and non-uniform lighting. Experimental results validate our method's superiority, surpassing other Retinex-based techniques both qualitatively and quantitatively. This research contributes valuable insights into image enhancement methodologies, fostering advancements in sensor-based data gathering in Smart Spaces. © COPYRIGHT SPIE. Reversible solid oxide cell (RSOC) demonstrates considerable promise in multimodal energy conversion architectures, particularly as a technology for hydrogen-based energy storage systems. Nevertheless, under dynamic operating regimes with time-varying current inputs, realizing time-efficient and reliable transitions to steady-state operation remains difficult. This difficulty arises from the intricate coupling of thermal, electrical, and gaseous processes within the RSOC system. This study aims to address these challenges by developing a 5 kW mathematical model of the RSOC system. The proposed model enables systematic investigation of thermal safety issues arising during current switching operations while introducing a thermal constraint control strategy to enhance both system efficiency and thermal safety performance. This efficiency-driven study employs the Grid Search algorithm to identify optimal steady-state operating points for the RSOC system, ensuring strict adherence to safety constraints across varying current inputs. Furthermore, by integrating the pre-identified optimal operating points as feedforward control with Model Predictive control (MPC)-based feedback correction, this hybrid strategy effectively mitigates stack temperature gradient overshoot while synchronously ensuring optimal system efficiency throughout current transition processes. Under simulated variable current inputs, the proposed RSOC system model and control strategy demonstrate the capability to constrain stack temperature gradient overshoot within 2.3K while enhancing transient efficiency by 5 %–8 %, achieving a peak system efficiency of 85 %. It provides a novel methodology for safe and efficient working with intermittent renewable energy. © 2025 Hydrogen Energy Publications LLC

In this article, an adaptive event-triggered asymp¬totically fault-tolerant control (FTC) issue for nonlinear systems with actuator faults is investigated. An extended neural networks (NNs) technique is introduced to estimate unknown functions of the system under consideration. Compared with traditional NNs that ignore approximation errors, the proposed extended NNs further processes approximation errors, reducing the conservatism of the proposed algorithm. Then, within the framework of backstepping method, a new adaptive control strategy is developed by combining event-triggered mechanism (ETM) and bound estimation (BE) approach, which ensures the asymptotic convergence of system states while also reducing the transmission of unnecessary information, thus improving the utilization of communication resources. At the same time, the designed controller eliminates the adverse effects of actuator failures and system nonlinear terms. Finally, a simulation example of a single-link robot system is provided to demonstrate that the developed control strategy can ensure that all signals are bounded and system states are asymptotically convergent. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper proposes an enhanced approach utilizing the YOLOv7 model for automated construction site environment detection and management. The method leverages high-resolution surveillance cameras and computer vision techniques to achieve this goal. The proposed method starts with data collection of the construction site environment. Then produce accurate bounding boxes. These bounding boxes serve as input to an improved YOLOv7 network model, enabling feature extraction and generating high-scoring feature maps with associated weights. Utilizing these weights, image segmentation is performed to obtain the desired detection heads. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the method in identifying and annotating various environmental features within the construction site, leading to significant improvements in detection accuracy. Compared to similar techniques, this method offers faster detection speed, higher accuracy, and reduced error rates. The proposed construction site environment detection method provides an efficient and automated solution for on-site management in the construction industry, with practical applications and value. © 2023 IEEE.

Security-constrained economic dispatch (SCED) is one of the most important problems in power system operations. Corrective SCED (CSCED) is a type of SCED that considers corrective capabilities of the power system and adjusts base case decisions according to post-contingency states. Because of the large scale of the CSCED problem, it is difficult for purely model-based approaches to meet the time limits in real-time practical operations. To leverage historical operation data, this paper develops a novel hybrid model-based and data-driven framework to accelerate the solution process of CSCED. In the offline stage, our previous model-based contingency filtering approach is utilized to label active statuses of contingencies against historical net load samples. In the online stage, a multi-label classifier based on the K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) algorithm quickly generates an active contingency set corresponding to the real-time net load. This active contingency set can be used to calculate the economic dispatch decisions in one shot. In addition, the accuracy of our framework can be further improved by adding an optional contingency filtering procedure at the end. Numerical testing results on the IEEE RTS-96 system demonstrate the accuracy and computational efficiency of the hybrid framework as compared to a purely model-based approach. © 2021 IEEE

Grid-following inverters remain the primary interface for modern renewable energy systems due to their strong power output performance. As the global demand for clean and efficient energy conversion increases, optimizing the stability of inverter systems is crucial for integrating renewable sources into the power grid. In certain energy conversion scenarios, current sensors are placed on the inverter side due to equipment constraints and space limitations, which can impact the stability of the inverter. Although the stability of inverter-side current feedback (ICF) configurations has been studied, methods to further enhance their stability remain underexplored. In this paper, the stability of ICF grid-following inverters is analyzed using a passivity-based design approach, focusing on a point of common coupling voltage controller. The proposed controller is thoroughly analyzed, and a detailed design strategy is presented to ensure stability under varying grid impedance conditions. Experimental results validate the theoretical analysis, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed design in enhancing the stability of ICF grid-following inverters. These advancements contribute to improving energy conversion efficiency and reliability. © 2025 IEEE.

The scarcity of fault samples presents a significant challenge for fault diagnosis in industrial processes. Conventional methods often fail to deliver satisfactory results when dealing with small sample sizes. In addressing the issue of small sample fault diagnosis in industrial processes, this paper utilizes the Variational Mode Reconstruction(VMR) algorithm to screen the best components decomposed by the Variational Mode Decomposition(VMD) through the envelope entropy then random weighting them and signal reconstruction to achieve data enhancement, to enrich the sample size and to prevent the model overfitting phenomenon due to the scarcity of samples. Meanwhile, this paper integrates Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Long Short-term Memory Neural Network (LSTM) to propose a network model of spatio-temporal feature fusion for feature extraction and classification. The experiments demonstrate that this model not only enhances data diversity but also ensures consistency before and after enhancement, effectively mitigating overfitting. Furthermore, it guarantees high recognition and generalization rates in fault diagnosis. © 2024 IEEE.

The safety protection of process control systems plays a crucial role in the overall safety of critical *** have increased the complexity of existing safety protection analysis. Traditional safety analysis methods fall short in accounting for cyberattack factors, making it challenging to conduct safety protection analysis under cyberattacks. To address this issue, this paper presents a new safety protection analysis method that considers multiple safety factors explicitly including cyberattacks using formal verification. The method consists of three main components: exhaustive system safety specifications,formal models, and system safety validation. The system safety specification component adds a cyberattack factor to system safety requirements based on the system theory process analysis(STPA) method. The formal model component considers the system's dynamic operation process, and safety protection behaviors under typical attack behaviors. The system safety validation component validates the effectiveness of system safety protection under cyberattacks by the UPPAAL tool, from the perspective of whether system safety constraints are triggered and whether the change curve of process variables is compliant. Finally, the effectiveness of the presented approach is carried out for a simplified fluid catalytic cracking(FCC) fractionating system.

This study addresses the complexities of orchestrating multi-target transportation tasks within multi-agent systems, constrained by load capacity. The primary objective is to engineer an advanced path planning framework that assures collision avoidance and optimal load distribution. Diverging from conventional single-path strategies, this research incorporates load factors and requires continuous dynamic multi-target point and path planning to ensure agents can efficiently navigate through a series of predetermined key points. To address this complex requirement, a two-stage multi-agent task allocation and path planning method is proposed. First, an initial solution is obtained using a suboptimal algorithm, followed by optimization iterations using the large neighborhood search algorithm to improve task allocation. In the second stage, an accelerated algorithm based on priority search is used to plan optimal paths for each agent in a predetermined order. The proposed algorithm's effectiveness is comprehensively evaluated through a series of experimental evaluations and comparisons with the commercial solver Gurobi within a limited time. The results show that the proposed method achieves optimality in both running time and minimum path cost while ensuring the load balance of agents.
