A simple method was developed to prepare the uniform hematite hollow submicro-spheres with controllable structure and different diameter based on monodisperse poly(styrene-co-acrylic acid) [P(St-co-AA)] particles. The structure and formation mechanism of the hollow spheres were investigated in detail. The control mechanism of shell thickness was also discussed. The results indicated that the shell thickness and coarseness of the synthesized core-shell hematite hollow spheres could be tuned simply by the surface carboxyl content of the P(St-co-AA) particles. This method provided a new approach for the structure control in the preparation of hollow spheres. A Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) test shows that the prepared hollow spheres have large surface areas which were decreased along with the increase of the diameter. The magnetic properties of the as-obtained hematite hollow spheres were investigated. The result showed that the coercivity and saturated magnetization were increased along with the increase of the shell thickness, and the remanent magnetization was increased along with the decrease of the diameter.

Lithium metal anode with high theoretical capacity is considered to be one of the most potential anode materials of the next generation. However, the growth of lithium dendrite seriously affects the application of lithium metal anode and the development of lithium metal batteries(LMBs). Herein, an ultrathin Li3N film modified separator to homogenize the lithium ions and protect the lithium metal anode was reported. Due to the intrinsic properties of Li3N, the functional separator possessed good thermal stability, mechanical properties and electrolyte wettability, and the homogenization of the lithium ion was realized without increasing the interface impedance. With this functional separator, the Li/Li symmetrical cell could achieve a long cycle with low overpotential for 1000 h at a current density of 1 m A cm-2. Furthermore, when the full battery was assembled with Li FePO4and the discharge capacity could be maintained at 151 m Ah g-1after 400 cycles at 1 C. In addition, the full battery also showed good rate performance, and provided a high discharge capacity of 114 m Ah g-1at 5 C.

We introduced a modified pressureless sintering strategy by SPS with a new T-shape die and tapered punches, which helps the evaporation of melted Al and reduces the sample sticking with the inner wall of the die. Thus, the die breaking risk in the sintering process or the de-molding process is avoided at all. At a low temperature and short holding time, a high purity of Cr_2 AlC was obtained in this SPS process from the optimization of different molar ratios of raw materials. Simultaneously, the high porosity of the as-obtained sample was also a distinguishing feature worth noticing. The reaction mechanism for this process was also discussed in detail. This study presented a new venue for future development of high purity "MAX" materials and others related materials by a modified pressureless sintering strategy.

The influence of pretreatment of fibre on interfacial and mechanical properties of glass fibre/ polypropylene composites was investigated. Firstly, the glass fibres were coated with the blends of m-IPP (maleic anhydride grafting isotatic polypropylene ) and m-APP ( maleic anhydride grafting amorphous polypropylene) in different, ratios. Secondly, the interfaced reaction of the coated composites was analysed by FTIR, which shows that the interfacial chemical reaction between m-IPP/m-APP in the fibre coating and the fibre surface- bound coupling agent is in existence. Thirdly, the microstructure of the coated composites wax studied by SEM. The results indicate that the coating treatment is effective on improving interfacial adhesion of the, fibre-matrix and the right amount of m-APP added to the coal impels the plastic deformation surrounding the point of cracks , which makes cracks turn to region and prevents from further interface debonding. Lastly, the mechanical properties were evaluated by measurement, of the flexural strength and impact strength of the composites. It was found that, the flexural strength and impact strength of the composites with coating fibre are higher than those of uncoating fibre composite. The results of these investigations draw the conclusion that the pretreatment of fibre with m-IPP/m-APP blends can form an optimize interlayer between the fibre and the PP matrix, which improves both the strength and lough-ness of the composites.

In this paper, a novel accelerated test method was proposed to analyze the durability of MEA, considering the actual operation of the fuel cell vehicle. The proposed method includes 7 working conditions: open circuit voltage (OCV), idling, rated output, overload, idling-rated cycle, idling-overload cycle, and OCV-idling cycle. The experimental results indicate that the proposed method can effectively destroy the MEA in a short time (165 h). Moreover, the degradation mechanism of MEA was analyzed by measuring the polarization curve, CV, SEM and TEM. This paper may provide a new research direction for improving the durability of fuel cell.

In the current work hydroxyapatite Ca10(PO4)6 ·OH2(HA) was sintered with the addition of 3 wt% aluminum isopropoxide(C9H21AlO3) powder and 3 wt % Teflon powder(-C2 F2-). Sample was prepared by following sol-gel technique. Obtained pellets of samples were sintered. For investigation of effects of temperature on microstructures and mechanical properties the samples were sintered at various temperatures. For studying the phase composition, microstructures and elemental analysis the sintered samples were characterized by X-rays diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and energy dispersive X-rays diffraction(EDAX) respectively. After sintering the samples mechanical properties, i e, grains size, apparent density, Vickers hardness, bending strength and compressive strength were found to be 2.14-18.76 μm, 1.523 6-0.752 g/cm3, 3.60-0.600 GPa and bending strength 33.265 8-14.900 MPa, 75-33 MPa, respectively. As a result of sintering fluoridated composite material was obtained.

The specific binding of receptor to ligand covalently attached to surface with different surface densities was studied using streptavidin-biotin model pair. Biotinylated substrates with different spacer thicknesses as formed through a simple reaction between amine immobilized surfaces and N-hydroxysucciimide groups at the end of biotin modifi ed PEG in anhydrous organic solutions("grafting to" technique). The amount of the specifi cally adsorbed protein was measured as a function of spacer thickness between hard surface and biotin moieties. It has been shown that the amount of specifically adsorbed streptavidin decreases with the increase spacer thickness and the protein adsorbs onto the functionalized surfaces in a single molecular manner. It provides an interesting model system for studying single molecular interactions.

Ceramic and polytetrafluoroethylene composites as dielectric materials have a low dielectric loss at high frequency and play an important role in the modern communication ***,room temperature phase transformation of PTFE resins,which is accompanied by a large volume change(>400 ppm/℃),seriously affects the dimensional stability and performance stability of *** LD125 modified glass fiber(GF)was introduced to the CaO-Li2 O-Sm2O3-TiO2(CLST)/PTFE composite,to reduce the thermal expansion coefficient(CTE)of the *** tri-phase composites(CLST/PTFE/GF)show the low dielectric loss and excellent *** effect of GF content on the dielectric properties and CTE was also *** CLST/PTFE filled with 5%GF exhibits the best overall performance,which is a promising microwave dielectric material for microwave communication.
