Scene text recognition has been studied for decades due to its broad applications. However, despite Chinese characters possessing different characteristics from Latin characters, such as complex inner structures and large categories, few methods have been proposed for Chinese Text recognition (CTR). Particularly, the characteristic of large categories poses challenges in dealing with zero-shot and few-shot Chinese characters. In this paper, inspired by the way humans recognize Chinese texts, we propose a two-stage framework for CTR. Firstly, we pre-train a CLIP-like model through aligning printed character images and Ideographic Description Sequences (IDS). This pre-training stage simulates humans recognizing Chinese characters and obtains the canonical representation of each character. Subsequently, the learned representations are employed to supervise the CTR model, such that traditional single-character recognition can be improved to text-line recognition through image-IDS matching. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method, we conduct extensive experiments on both Chinese character recognition (CCR) and CTR. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method performs best in CCR and outperforms previous methods in most scenarios of the CTR benchmark. It is worth noting that the proposed method can recognize zero-shot Chinese characters in text images without fine-tuning, whereas previous methods require fine-tuning when new classes appear. Infrared detection technology has the advantages of all-weather detection and good concealment,which is widely used in long-distance target detection and tracking ***,the complex background,the strong noise,and the characteristics of small scale and weak intensity of targets bring great difficulties to the detection of infrared small targets.A multi-channel based on attention network is proposed in this paper,aimed at the problem of high missed detection rate and false alarm rate of traditional algorithms and the problem of large model,high complexity and poor detection performance of deep learning ***,given the difficulty in extracting the features of infrared multiscale and small dim targets,the multiple channels are designed based on dilated convolution to capture multiscale target ***,the coordinate attention block is incorporated in each channel to suppress background clutters adaptively and enhance target *** addition,the fusion of shallow detail features and deep abstract semantic features is realized by synthesizing the contextual attention fusion ***,it is verified that,compared with other state-of-the-art methods based on the datasets SIRST and MDFA,the proposed algorithm further improves the detection effect,and the model size and computational complexity are smaller.

Task-Oriented Multi-user Semantic Communication based on Deep Over-the-Air Computation

The presence of large-scale heterogeneous IoT devices and AI-based applications has brought significant transmission and computation pressure on the wireless communication system. In this paper, we propose a novel multi-user semantic communication framework based on deep over-the-air computation called SC-DAC to tackle this challenge. By integrating communication and computation through a deep over-the-air computation (AirComp) encoder, SC-DAC is able to utilize the superposition of multiple access channels, facilitating multi-user information fusion during transmission and eliminating the need for multi-user detection at the receiver. Further, to achieve the optimal task results, the semantic encoders, decoders, and AirComp encoder are jointly optimized, where stochastic gradient descent (SGD) algorithm and deep double-Q network (DDQN) are employed to optimize the encoder/decoder parameters. The simulation results demonstrate that as the number of users increased, the performance of the system remains relatively stable and shows potential in resource utilization. What's more, when applied to the AI-based tasks such as multi-user multimodal action recognition and semantic segmentation, SC-DAC enhances the accuracy of action recognition by 26% compared with traditional methods and by about 30%-50% compared with other multi-user semantic communication methods under conditions of low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), while it enhances the accuracy of semantic segmentation by 0.22 to 0.32 compared to other methods © 1967-2012 IEEE.

With the development of blockchain technology, the existing online auction technology is developing from the trusted third party as auction intermediary to the disintermediation to the third party. Aiming at the problems existing in the existing sealed bid auction scheme based on blockchain, such as the leakage of bidders' privacy information, illegal acquisition or tampering of bidders' bids in sealed auction, etc. Based on blockchain as the bottom layer, an auction scheme with decentralization, bid privacy,anonymous verifiability, tamper-proof and collusion-proof is constructed. ASVChain uses encryption mechanism to encrypt each bidder's offer to ensure the privacy of the bid,and uses ring signature technology to sign the encrypted offer, providing safe and verifiable steps while ensuring that each bidder's personal information is not leaked, and preventing illegal tampering while resisting collusion. The security analysis shows the advantages of this scheme compared with the existing scheme. The experiment analyzes and tests the influence of the number of bidders on the bidding time, and the results show that the time consumption of the proposed auction scheme meets the daily auction demand.

Efficient, temperature-insensitive electromagnetic attenuation materials are critical for high microwave absorption at high temperatures. This study presents SiC/TiC/SiTiOC hybrid nanofiber mats constructed using an in-situ synthesis method;these mats incorporate SiC/TiC as the microwave loss unit and SiTiOC as the antioxidant unit, offering an innovative approach to high-temperature microwave absorption. The introduction of high-conductivity TiC not only optimizes the dielectric constant and impedance matching of the material but also enhances its thermal cycling stability. This design ensures steady electromagnetic attenuation, enabling the hybrid nanofiber mats to maintain robust absorption performance in the X-band, even at high temperatures. At 873 K, the material demonstrates an effective absorption bandwidth of 3.6 GHz and a minimum reflection loss of-45.55 dB. Compared to single-system absorbers, such as SiC/C nanofiber materials, with a single system, the multicomponent SiC/TiC/SiTiOC hybrid nanofiber mats deliver reliable absorption performance in the temperature range of 293–873 K. This study confirms that highly conductive titanium-based ceramic materials used for dielectric property regulation effectively address the challenges of poor temperature stability and limited reusability in high-temperature carbon-ceramic absorbing materials, providing valuable insights and guidance for designing efficient microwave absorbers that can operate across a wide temperature range.

Hair editing is a critical image synthesis task that aims to edit hair color and hairstyle using text descriptions or reference images, while preserving irrelevant attributes (e.g., identity, background, cloth). Many existing methods are based on StyleGAN to address this task. However, due to the limited spatial distribution of StyleGAN, it struggles with multiple hair color editing and facial preservation. Considering the advancements in diffusion models, we utilize Latent Diffusion Models (LDMs) for hairstyle editing. Our approach introduces Multi-stage Hairstyle Blend (MHB), effectively separating control of hair color and hairstyle in diffusion latent space. Additionally, we train a warping module to align the hair color with the target region. To further enhance multi-color hairstyle editing, we fine-tuned a CLIP model using a multi-color hairstyle dataset. Our method not only tackles the complexity of multi-color hairstyles but also addresses the challenge of preserving original colors during diffusion editing. Extensive experiments showcase the superiority of our method in editing multi-color hairstyles while preserving facial attributes given textual descriptions and reference images. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation. One of the problems with Smart Transportation is the problem of cost and travel time. This problem is known as the Variable Routing Problem (VRP). In some real cases, in addition to considering route selection, there are limitations on the capacity and time period for the vehicle to serve each customer known as Time Windows, so VRP has developed into Variable Routing Problem with Time Windows (VRPTW). One way to solve VRPTW is to use metaheuristic methods. However, the metaheuristic method has a weakness, which are it can get stuck in local optimums and fail to find better global solutions. To overcome this, a combination with other methods or known as hybrid is needed. The formulation of this research problem is how to develop a Smart transportation model using a metaheuristic hybrid algorithm. The purpose of this study is to develop a Smart transportation model using a metaheuristic hybrid algorithm. The method used is to combine two metaheuristic algorithms, which are the Dragonfly Algorithm (DA) and the Variable Neighborhood Search (VNS). The result of this research is a new algorithm model which is a hybrid between DA and VNS. Through a combination of global exploration using DA and local exploitation using VNS, this algorithm is expected to be able to find a better solution and faster convergence in solving VRPTW problems © 2024 IEEE.

CRLNet: Cascaded Resolution Learning Network for Natural Scenes Segmentation

The natural environment presents a multitude of scenes with diverse content, posing challenges for satisfactory segmentation results using existing segmentation networks. In response, we propose a Cascaded Resolution Learning Network (CRLNet) to enhance segmentation performance through global textual embedding and multi-resolution feature learning. The CRLNet constructs a multi-path segmentation system that integrates multi-resolution feature data from different paths, thereby progressively enhancing local feature learning. Two key modules, the Partition-Fusion Channel Attention Module (PFCAM) and the Features Learning Module (FLM), are pivotal components of CRLNet. The PFCAM serves as a computationally efficient channel attention module to mitigate segmentation confusion stemming from similar objects. Meanwhile, the FLM is tailored to learn resolution feature maps from different paths, facilitating the refinement of object representation and enhancing segmentation performance. Extensive experiments conducted on real natural scene datasets demonstrate the superiority of the proposed CRLNet over existing efficient segmentation methods in terms of accuracy. © 2025 IEEE.

The rebroadcasting of screen-recaptured document images introduces a significant risk to the confidential docu-ments processed in government departments and commer-cial companies. However, detecting recaptured document images subjected to distortions from online social networks (OSNs) is challenging since the common forensics cues, such as moiré pattern, are weakened during transmission. In this work, we first devise a pixel-level distortion model of the screen-recaptured document image to identify the robust features of color artifacts. Then, we extract a chromaticity map from the recaptured image to highlight the presence of color artifacts even under low-quality samples. Based on the prior understanding, we design a chromaticity map adapter (CMA) to efficiently extract the chromaticity map, and feed it into the transformer backbone as multi-modal prompt tokens. To evaluate the performance of the pro-posed method, we collect a recaptured office document im-age dataset with over 10K diverse samples. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed CMA method outper-forms a SOTA approach (with RGB modality only), reducing the average EER from 26.82% to 16.78%. Robustness eval-uation shows that our method achieves 0.8688 and 0.7554 AUCs under samples with JPEG compression $(QF=70)$ and resolution as low as $534\times 503$ pixels.

This work presents a high isolation UWB-MIMO antenna with a bandwidth up to 8.6 GHz based on a Minkowski fractal structure. The proposed antenna is fed by microstrip and comprises two orthogonal monopole antennas, which delivers a decent isolation effect. Moreover, the ground is designed as two separated blocks with an I-shaped branch for improving the isolation degree between the units. The resultant isolation degree of this antenna is greater than 25 dB. Besides, the electromagnetic interference in the partial frequency band (such as Wi-Max band (3.45–4.45 GHz), WLAN band (5.1– 5.8 GHz), and X-band (7.25–7.75 GHz)) is further prevented through etching a split-ring resonator (SRR) and C-slot on the unit. The antenna reflection coefficient of the UWB-MIMO antenna at the notch is 3.5 dB, which indicates that the antenna has a conspicuousness anti-interference effect. Through the above judicious design, the proposed UWB-MIMO antenna possesses a relative bandwidth of 113% (up to 8.6 GHz). The envelope correlation coefficient between antenna units is less than 0.005, and the antenna radiation efficiency is up to 80%. The results indicate that the proposed MIMO antenna meets UWB applications. © 2021, Electromagnetics Academy. All rights reserved.
