This paper aims to enhance the efficiency of teaching and learning by leveraging computer vision technology for automated analysis of student behavior in the classroom. We propose a feature-enhanced method for recognizing student behavior, which integrates an Upsampling module (UPS) and a convolutional block layer (CBL) module into the YOLOv5 model. This innovative approach significantly improves the detection and feature extraction capabilities for student targets, effectively addressing challenges associated with small-sized targets and lowresolution images. Through algorithm optimization, it achieves a balance in sample diversity, enhancing the model's adaptability and generalizability in complex classroom environments. Building upon these technological advancements, we have developed a Classroom Student Posture Perception System (CSP2S). This system integrates functions for data collection, student behavior detection, and result visualization. The CSP2S operates in realtime by capturing and analyzing students' behavioral dynamics while providing teachers with immediate feedback. Experimental results demonstrate that this system substantially reduces teachers' workload in student assessment, offering significant potential to improve teaching effectiveness. These robust technical advancements provide strong support for future applications in real educational environments. © 2023 IEEE.

In the case of the specific task of identifying named entities within electronic medical record, it is hard to determine the boundary of nested entities, and existing NER systems have insufficient decoding performance. Based on the pre training model BERT, this paper introduces a novel network structure called Biaffine Layer using a bidirectional LSTM layer. The network uses a dual affine attention mechanism for semantic information learning, which can better interact with the semantic information of entity heads and entity tails, thereby achieving better recognition results for entities. Due to the sparsity of named entity datasets and the uneven distribution of entity categories, traditional binary cross entropy loss functions require multiple rounds of training to decode entities. In this paper, we have modified the binary cross entropy loss function to make the proposed model faster decode the entities that need to be identified. The model performs well, according to the experimental findings. The approach suggested in this paper offers a fresh approach to the NER issue raised by electronic medical records, and it is anticipated to considerably boost the effectiveness and caliber of clinical medical research. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Image interpretation experts play a crucial role in various domains in daily life such as military, healthcare, and education. Accurately assessing an individual's ability to perform such tasks is of great importance. In this study, we designed an image interpretation task with three levels of occlusion, which better reflected the real-world working environments. Using the Eyelink 1000plus eye-tracking system, we collected both behavioral data and eye-tracking data from 64 participants while they performed the image interpretation tasks. Through confirmatory factor analysis, we extracted the $g$ -factor, representing the comprehensive image interpretation ability, from the behavioral performance data of the tasks with different levels of occlusion. We divided all participants into two groups according to their $g$ -factors and conducted statistical analyses on their eyetracking data. The results showed that, under all three levels of mental workload, the high-ability group exhibited fewer fixations, saccades, and blinks. Additionally, the high-ability group showed significantly longer fixation duration under the medium and high mental workload conditions. Furthermore, our study also provided a few machine learning algorithms for assessing individuals' image interpretation ability based on eye-tracking features with the highest Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.81.

In order to solve the challenge of multi-objective team personalized tourism route design, in view of the shortcomings of the existing divide and conquer algorithms, this study proposes an innovative personalized tourism route design method based on fuzzy APACA. This new scheme uses the principles of gradient descent theory to accurately identify and locate key influencing factors, and accordingly carries out a sensible classification of indicators to reduce possible interference. At the same time, by using the unique mechanism of fuzzy APACA, this scheme cleverly constructs the design strategy of tourism routes. The empirical results show that this scheme shows a significant improvement compared with the traditional divide and conquer algorithm in terms of key performance indicators such as the accuracy of personalized tourism route design and the processing efficiency of key factors, showing its obvious strong advantages. In the multi-objective team, the personalized tourism route design plays a crucial role, which can accurately predict and optimize the growth trend and output results of the multi-objective team's personalized tourism route design. However, in the face of complex simulation tasks, traditional divide-and-conquer algorithms show some inherent shortcomings, especially when dealing with multi-level challenges, their performance is often unsatisfactory. To overcome this, this study introduces a new idea of fuzzy APACA optimization for the design of personalized tourism routes, and accurately controls the influencing parameters through gradient descent theory, which is used as the road map for index allocation, and then uses fuzzy APACA to innovate and construct a system scheme. The test results clearly point out that in the context of the evaluation criteria, the new scheme has been significantly optimized in terms of accuracy and processing speed for a variety of challenges, showing stronger performance superiority. With deep learning’s advancement in recent years, heterogeneous graph neural networks (HGNNs) have drawn a lot of interest. They are a group of deep learning models specifically designed for handling heterogeneous graph data, in which nodes and edges are of various types and all nodes are assumed to have either direct or indirect associations. A metaschema, which serves as a thorough and unified blueprint for the heterogeneous graph, elegantly connects varied node types to other heterogeneous nodes via multiple heterogeneous edges with rich sematincs. However, many existing methods that utilize meta-schema to mine heterogeneous information often focus on the different meta-relationships inside the schema, limiting the meta-schema to describing only the local relational semantics. To better utilize meta-schema for efficiently integrating different heterogeneous information, we organize them into a hierarchical structure(i.e., hierarchical meta-schema), with all types of nodes distributed across different layers. The layers are interconnected through heterogeneous relationships. The target type is placed at the final layer and others are arranged hierarchically in the front according to the heterogeneous relationships defined in the meta-schema. During information aggregation, according to the hierarchical meta-schema, the information of each layer is gradually aggregated to the target type on the final layer from far to near via the attention mechanism. Moreover, metapaths regularly begin and end with the same type and help to define complex structures and semantic. Therefore, we also consider the semantic information of neighbors based on metapaths within the proposed hierarchical meta-schema to enhance the complex semantics among nodes of the same-type that may be lacking in the meta-schema. In the original Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), the selection of parameters significantly impacts the search capability of PSO. The paper introduces an innovative algorithm called Fitness Landscape-based PSO (FLPSO) to address the impact of parameter selection on the search capability of PSO. The algorithm focuses on acquiring fitness landscape information and analyzing the population state to intelligently select appropriate parameters in each generation. FLPSO defines four primary states: exploration, exploitation, convergence, and escaping state. In the convergence state, an elite learning strategy is incorporated to help the algorithm escape potential local optima by targeting the global best particle. To validate the efficacy of FLPSO, the paper conducted experiments on 30 different characteristic test functions from CEC2017. FLPSO was compared with six existing algorithms: PSO, PSO-TVAC, APSO, AWPSO, RPSO and ASRPPSO. The experimental results showed significant improvements in FLPSO, providing promising evidence for its effectiveness.

The employment of sub-Nyquist sampling enables the adaptation to the ever-increasing bandwidth demands of wireless communication systems. Multicoset sampling is a nonuniform sub-Nyquist sampling technique that can be realized by using a multi-channel architecture. Nevertheless, the performance of multicoset sampling is significantly affected by timing mismatches among sub-ADCs. Traditional analog calibration scheme mitigates timing mismatch errors by adjusting the sampling clock in the front-end, but its performance is suboptimal due to the difficulty in selecting an appropriate initial step size and the sequential calibration process. In this paper, a data-driven digital adaptive timing mismatch calibration approach is proposed that uses real-time measurement data only to calculate calibration parameters without changing hardware circuits, making it effective for tracking variations in mismatches among multiple channels. Based on the nonlinear relationship between the timing mismatches and the normalized mean squared error of the output spectrum, the proposed data-driven calibration scheme jointly computes calibration parameters among multiple channels in parallel through a series of dynamic linearization data models with a time-varying pseudo-partial derivative parameter estimation procedure, and then adaptively adjusts the sampling matrix in the reconstruction to correct unwanted distortions in the output spectrum. To further improve the calibration performance, particle swarm optimization algorithm is exploited to generate parameter vectors used in the proposed data-driven calibration scheme. Numerical analyses indicate that the proposed data-driven digital calibration scheme can eliminate timing mismatches with fewer calibration iterations and enhanced accuracy. © 2015 IEEE.

The diffusion model has demonstrated impressive performance in image generation, but its potential for discriminative tasks such as instance segmentation remains unexplored. In this paper, we propose an Instance-aware Diffusion Implicit Process (IDIP) framework for instance segmentation based on boxes. During training, IDIP diffuses ground-truth boxes across various time steps, extracting corresponding Region of Interest (RoI) features. Dynamic convolution is then used to predict boxes and categories for each RoI, and the mask head generates masks from these predictions. During inference, IDIP iteratively refines randomly generated boxes with the denoising diffusion implicit model, while the mask head derives final masks from RoIs based on the refined boxes. Our method surpasses existing approaches on the COCO benchmark, requiring fewer training steps and less memory resources due to its dynamic design and instance-aware characteristic. © 2023 The Authors.

Supervised learning is a classic paradigm of relation extraction (RE). However, a well-performing model can still confidently make arbitrarily wrong predictions when exposed to samples of unseen relations. In this work, we propose a relation extraction method with rejection option to improve robustness to unseen relations. To enable the classifier to reject unseen relations, we introduce contrastive learning techniques and carefully design a set of class-preserving transformations to improve the discriminability between known and unseen relations. Based on the learned representation, inputs of unseen relations are assigned a low confidence score and rejected. Off-the-shelf open relation extraction (OpenRE) methods can be adopted to discover the potential relations in these rejected inputs. In addition, we find that the rejection can be further improved via readily available distantly supervised data. Experiments on two public datasets prove the effectiveness of our method capturing discriminative representations for unseen relation rejection. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
