A numerical magnitude aware multi-channel hierarchical encoding network for math word problem solving

Math word problem (MWP) represents a critical research area within reading comprehension, where accurate comprehension of math problem text is crucial for generating math expressions. However, current approaches still grapple with unresolved challenges in grasping the sensitivity of math problem text and delineating distinct roles across various clause types, and enhancing numerical representation. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a Numerical Magnitude Aware Multi-Channel Hierarchical Encoding Network (NMA-MHEA) for math expression generation. Firstly, NMA-MHEA implements a multi-channel hierarchical context encoding module to learn context representations at three different channels: intra-clause channel, inter-clause channel, and context-question interaction channel. NMA-MHEA constructs hierarchical constituent-dependency graphs for different levels of sentences and employs a Hierarchical Graph Attention Neural Network (HGAT) to learn syntactic and semantic information within these graphs at the intra-clause and inter-clause channels. NMA-MHEA then refines context clauses using question information at the context-question interaction channel. Secondly, NMA-MHEA designs a number encoding module to enhance the relative magnitude information among numerical values and type information of numerical values. Experimental results on two public benchmark datasets demonstrate that NMA-MHEA outperforms other state-of-the-art models. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

The integration of large education and artificial intelligence technologies is gradually deepening, and how to provide personalized user profiling services for learners is an important research problem. In response to the long-term dependency problem and lack of learning features of today's deep knowledge tracking models, a deep knowledge tracking model (FSA-MuLSTM) based on forgetting features and the self-attentiveness mechanism is proposed. Firstly, the model combines the learner's historical learning interaction tuple sequences with learning times and memory residuals to obtain the input vector based on the LSTM;secondly, the correlation weights between tuples are captured using the self-attention mechanism;finally, the deep information between tuple sequences is captured using the stacking of multilayer LSTMs. The probability of correctly answering the current question is derived from the hidden vectors and the self-attentive weights of the output of the multilayer LSTM. Two public datasets are used for the experiments, and the combined analysis outperforms existing knowledge-tracking models in terms of performance and improves the accuracy of prediction. © 2023 IEEE.

Grammatical error correction (GEC) aims to automatically identify and correct grammatical errors in a sentence. Neural machine translation (NMT) models are the mainstream approaches for the GEC task. However, the models require a large amount of data to be adequately trained, the variety of grammatical errors and the dependencies between errors in a sentence make it difficult for a single NMT model to correct multiple errors at once. In the work, we propose an ensemble approach for heterogeneous models, which integrates rule-based, NMT, and pre-trained language model-based GEC models through the recurrent generation approach, the approach can exploit the strengths of each model and cover a wider range of errors in a sentence. We also mitigate the scarcity of task-specific data for the GEC task through the data augmentation approach. We conduct extensive experiments on the NLPCC2018 shared task dataset to demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed methods, and reaches the F0.5 value of 37.26, outperforming the best model in the shared task. © 2023 SPIE. Text coherence analysis is an important and challenging task that is essential for subtasks such as automatic summarisation, viewpoint extraction and machine translation in natural language processing (NLP). A large body of previous work has used linguistic features such as lexical, syntactic and entity features to capture relatively shallow coherence features, while ignoring deeper logically relevant features hidden in the text. We propose an end-to-end English text coherence analysis model (RGCM for short) that incorporates RST and graph convolutional neural networks (GCN). The intra- and inter-sentence logical relations of the input text are first mapped onto a discourse relationship tree, and then transformed into an RST-dependent context graph by certain pruning strategies. Subsequently, we propose a GCN-based text coherence assessment framework to capture intra- and inter-sentence interactions to assess text coherence. We conducted experiments on two different coherence assessment datasets and achieved accuracy rates of 95.5% and 97.8% respectively. © 2023 IEEE.

In sentence similarity research methods, sentence similarity is often calculated from semantic aspects, however, the influence of other features is ignored. For example, the influence of sentence syntactic structure and word order on sentence similarity is not considered. Therefore, This paper proposes a method to measure the degree of similarity between sentences based on a multi-feature fusion of semantics, syntactic similarity and word order similarity, respectively. For the aspect of semantic similarity, in this paper, we first preprocess the sentence and obtain the word vectors, and then obtains sentence vector features through neural networks, so as to calculate the sentence semantic similarity;Finally, for the aspect of word order similarity, word order is considered as the auxiliary feature information to calculate sentence similarity since word order has a smaller effect on sentence similarity compared to the above information. The experimental results show that the proposed model has an accuracy of 77.4 % and an F1 value of 84.3% on the MRPC dataset. © 2023 IEEE.

Cloth-changing person re-identification (CC Re-ID) is a challenging problem for the prevalence of clothing texture information which occupies most of the pixels in the image, becoming invalid information or even misleading information. Recently, many methods introduce Vision Transformer into the field of Re-ID to establish global feature relationships between image patch sequences. However, Transformer tends to scatter critical local features, resulting in decreased performance within cloth-changing scenarios. In order to solve this problem, we propose a Local Feature-Emphasizing Transformer for CC Re-ID (LFET) that centers on the association of local features. Specifically, we propose a Patch Exchange Fusion Module (PEFM), which aims to improve the generalization ability of the reconstructed patch sequence by strengthening the correlation between image patches. Thus, we promote a closer interpretation of the spatial relationship within the image, and when environmental conditions change and various interference exist, the robustness of the model is enhanced. Furthermore, we design a dynamic feature weighting strategy (DyFW) to reduce noise and emphasize discriminative features by applying dynamically generated weighted tensors to sequences. We carry out experiments on various public datasets, demonstrating that our proposed method delivers strong performance in addressing CC Re-ID task. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). In the digitalized society, end-to-end security communication is receiving increasing attention. Issues such as ma-licious sender impersonation and over-privilege communication continue to prevail in end-to-end communication. This paper pro-poses a policy-controlled signature scheme aimed at addressing these concerns through identity verification and permission man-agement, thus establishing a secure mode of communication. The scheme designs policy-controlled signatures with partial policy hiding functionality, employing expressive access structures and garbled Bloom Filter (GBF) to protect the sender's attributes. In comparison to related approaches, this scheme provides benefits in terms of signature computation cost, thereby enhancing the resilience and efficiency of the communication system against attacks. © 2024 IEEE.

As advanced technology nodes enter the nanometer era, the complexity of integrated circuit design is increasing, and the proportion of bus in the net is also increasing. The bus routing has become a key factor affecting the performance of the chip. In addition, the existing research does not distinguish between bus and non-bus in the complete global routing process, which directly leads to the expansion of bus deviation and the degradation of chip performance. In order to solve these problems, we propose a high-quality and efficient bus-aware global router, which includes the following key strategies: By introducing the routing density graph, we propose a routing model that can simultaneously consider the routability of non-bus and the deviation value of bus;A dynamic routing resource adjustment algorithm is proposed to optimize the bus deviation and wirelength simultaneously, which can effectively reduce the bus deviation;We propose a layer assignment algorithm consider deviation to significantly reduce the bus deviation of the 3D routing solution;And a depth-first search (DFS)-based algorithm is proposed to obtain multiple routing solutions, from which the routing result with the lowest deviation is selected. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithms can effectively reduce bus deviation compared with the existing algorithms, so as to obtain high-quality 2D and 3D routing solutions considering bus deviation.

It is difficult for children to build electronic building blocks. In order to facilitate users to build building blocks, this paper designs and implements an electronic building block auxiliary system based on machine vision. The system uses the deep learning object detection model PP-YOLOv2 to detect the building block pictures taken by the user, obtain the location information of all the two-dimensional code in the pictures, and then decode the two-dimensional code, perform perspective transformation on the pictures, and obtain the final two-dimensional code decoding information and location information. Finally, the position of the QR code identified by the building blocks on the user’s picture is crossed and compared with the position of the standard building blocks, so as to determine whether the building blocks placed by the user are correct and give the user a prompt. The system test shows that the system is not only easy to use, but also easy to maintain, and can correctly handle most of the small and medium difficulty examples in the electronic building blocks course. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

ChatGPT has demonstrated impressive capabilities in building conversations. However, for Spoken Language Understanding (SLU) with multiple intents, traditional approaches where Intent Detection and Slot Filling are jointly modeled with distinct formulations hinder networks from effectively extracting shared features. In this work, we describe a Prompt-based SLU (PromptSLU) framework, to intuitively unify two sub-tasks into the same form for a common pre-trained model. Specifically, variable intents are predicted first, then naturally embedded into prompts to guide slot-value inference from a semantic perspective. Furthermore, we are inspired by multi-task learning to introduce an auxiliary sub-task and a concise general objective, which helps to learn relationships among provided labels. Experiment results show that our framework outperforms several competitive baselines on two datasets. The source code is available at https://***/F2-Song/PromptSLU.
