Knowledge graphs are used to alleviate the problems of data sparsity and cold starts in recommendation systems. However, most existing approaches ignore the hierarchical structure of the knowledge graph. In this paper, we propose a box embedding method for knowledge graph-enhanced recommendation system. Specifically, the box embedding represents not only the interaction between the user and the item, but also the head entity, the tail entity and the relation between them in the knowledge graph. Then the interaction between the item and the corresponding entity is calculated by the multi-task attention unit. Experimental results show that our method provides a large improvement over previous models in terms of Area Under Curve (AUC) and accuracy in publicly available recommendation datasets with three different domains. © 2024 China National Conference on Computational Linguistics.

The requirements of the Internet of Vehicles on the quality of service (QoS) of computing task offloading are constantly improving. The processing mode of edge computing, which deploys computing, bandwidth and storage resources near the user side, effectively improves the user experience. However, the computing capacity of edge servers is limited. Task offloading requests are overloaded and inefficient due to uneven server loads. Traditional cloud computing consumes a lot of energy and time. To solve the above problem, a KDQN based edge computing balanced task unloading mechanism is proposed: Q learning and convolutional neural network are used to obtain the optimal unloading strategy according to the returns of each step and continuous iterative updates, which reduces the convergence time of task unloading;K-means clustering is used to distribute part of the load of the overloaded server to the server with the closest European distance to achieve server load balancing. The experimental results show that compared to the existing offload mechanism, the new mechanism can reduce the average server energy consumption by 12.8%, the average service delay by 8.2%, and the average overload rate by 29.8%. © 2023 SPIE.

The task of retrieving and analyzing mass spectra is indispensable for the identification of compounds in mass spectrometry (MS). This methodology is of critical importance as it enables researchers to correlate observed spectra with established databases, thereby precisely determining the chemical composition of samples. The primary challenges to its efficacy lie in optimizing the balance between retrieval accuracy and processing speed. Empirical studies have demonstrated that by converting mass spectra into embeddings via deep learning, it is possible to achieve both high accuracy and speed in retrieval. Nevertheless, there are complex challenges associated with employing deep learning for spectral embedding, particularly within the domain of electron ionization mass spectrometry (EI-MS). In this paper, we introduce a novel representation learning technique termed EI-MS2VEC for EI-MS retrieval. Our spectrum retrieval methodology surpasses current state-of-the-art techniques such as FastEI. For the in-silico library, we attain hit rate@1 and hit rate@10 of 43.6% and 84.5%, respectively, compared to FastEI's 36.7% and 80.4%. Moreover, our retrieval approach operates with an order of magnitude greater speed than FastEI. The source code is available on Github (https://***/xfcui/EI-MS2VEC). © 2024 IEEE.

Cross-view object geo-localization (CVOGL) aims to locate an object of interest in a captured ground- or drone-view image within the satellite image. However, existing works treat ground-view and drone-view query images equivalently, overlooking their inherent viewpoint discrepancies and the spatial correlation between the query image and the satellite-view reference image. To this end, this paper proposes a novel View-specific Attention Geo-localization method (VAGeo) for accurate CVOGL. Specifically, VAGeo contains two key modules: view-specific positional encoding (VSPE) module and channel-spatial hybrid attention (CSHA) module. In object-level, according to the characteristics of different viewpoints of ground and drone query images, viewpoint-specific positional codings are designed to more accurately identify the click-point object of the query image in the VSPE module. In feature-level, a hybrid attention in the CSHA module is introduced by combining channel attention and spatial attention mechanisms simultaneously for learning discriminative features. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that the proposed VAGeo gains a significant performance improvement, i.e., improving acc@0.25/acc@0.5 on the CVOGL dataset from 45.43%/42.24% to 48.21%/45.22% for ground-view, and from 61.97%/57.66% to 66.19%/61.87% for drone-view. © 2025 IEEE.

Text recognition for Tibetan historical document images is the automated process of extracting and identifying text from these photos utilizing image processing, computer vision, and natural language processing techniques. It is generally understood to be a method of extracting text from visual data. In order to create editable, searchable, and analytical text forms that readers, researchers, and academics may study, preserve, and pass on, it attempts to analyze, identify, and change the text found in traditional Tibetan historical document images. Recent years have seen significant advancements in the effectiveness and performance of Tibetan historical document image and text identification thanks to the quick development of artificial intelligence technology. However, issues with low image quality, non-standard formatting, and notable font style inconsistencies persist in the field of image recognition of Tibetan historical document texts. As a result, the accuracy and universality of current recognizers are low. First, this article gives a general overview of the basic knowledge of Tibetan historical documents, which are the research objects in this field. This helps to better summarize the work of predecessors and support future *** methods of integrating deep learning and conventional methods for Tibetan historical document image text recognition were then arranged, categorized, summarized, and introduced around the four subtasks of dataset construction, text detection, text recognition, and layout analysis. This served as the basis for sorting through the pertinent statistics and assessment indicators and summarizing the state and advancement of the research. Lastly, future technical development patterns are projected based on the primary issues and problems in this subject that require immediate attention. © 2024 SPIE.

This paper focuses on the image composition of transparent objects, where existing image matting methods suffer from composition errors due to the lack of accurate foreground during the composition process. We propose a foreground prediction model named ALGM, which leverages the local feature extraction capabilities of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and incorporates an attention mechanism for global information modeling. The proposed alpha-assisted foreground prediction module extracts foreground information from the original image and conveys it. The extracted foreground color information is combined with the deep structural features of the encoder and used for foreground color prediction. ALGM reduces image composition errors in the quantitative data from the Composition-1k dataset and improves the visual quality of composed images on the AIM-500 and Transparent-460 datasets. © 2025 SPIE.

For purpose of the electromagnetic pulse (EMP) protection research, a double-layer barrier of cylindrical plasma array was designed, and its protective performance to 6GHz high-power microwave (HPM) was conducted experimentally. Combining the distribution of the discharge plasma array, the shielding effectiveness of the double-layer plasma on 6GHz HPM pulse was studied. The main research contents and conclusions are as follows: The transmission energy of HPM decreased as the increase of plasma electron density, indicating an improved protection effect, with both double-layer and single-layer plasma array. Besides, the results showed that the transmission attenuation of HPM in double-layer structure was greater than that in single-layer structure because of the interlayer reflection. In addition, an interesting phenomenon was discovered during the experiment, which was that the boundary plasma units had a significant impact on the HPM transmission. The shielding effect of HPM was better with opening seven plasma units than that with opening whole plasma array. Finally, the spectral characteristics and transmission coefficients of the HPM were presented by Fourier transform, and the results of the protective performance were consistent with the above-mentioned time-domain analysis. Drug-drug interactions (DDIs) refer to the synergistic or antagonistic effects between different drugs. Synergistic effects can enhance therapeutic efficacy, while antagonistic effects may reduce efficacy or even trigger adverse reactions, worsening the patient's condition. Most existing DDI prediction studies overlook the features of chemical bonds between atoms within drug molecules and the interaction types between drug pairs, which to some extent limits the accuracy and reliability of the predictions. In view of this, we have designed a novel framework called KGE-DDI, which leverages knowledge graph embedding (KGE) technology to enhance the prediction of DDIs. Specifically, for individual drug molecules, KGE-DDI first integrates the features of atoms and chemical bond. Then, by introducing attention mechanisms and graph neural network technology, it learns representations of the drug molecules. For pairs of drug molecules, KGE-DDI models their interactions utilizing atom-level Pearson correlation matrices. Finally, it predicts the interactions between drug pairs by employing our designed scoring function. We conducted comprehensive experiments under both transductive and inductive settings, and the results demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of KGE-DDI in three scenarios: (existing drug, existing drug), (new drug, new drug), and (new drug, existing drug). © 2024 IEEE.

Preventing injuries and deaths caused by the lack of timely assistance to the elderly after a fall is an important issue facing our society. Elderly people are prone to accidents such as falls due to the decline in their physical functions, and once they have fallen, if they do not receive timely assistance, it may lead to more serious consequences and even threaten their lives. Therefore, this study explores a deep learning-based method for fall detection. The objective is to minimize the consequences of such incidents. The study compares 2D pose estimation algorithms and proposes a fall detection algorithm based on MoveNet and Long short-term memory networks. This algorithm utilizes a camera to collect data and extracts skeletal information from videos or images. Long short-term memory is then used to analyze and detect the occurrence of a fall in elderly people. In addition, this study comparatively analyses four 2D pose estimation algorithms, namely OpenPose, BlazePose, PoseNet and MoveNet. The experimental results demonstrate that the MoveNet algorithm exhibits superior real-time performance and accuracy. Through experiments conducted on the UR Fall Detection Dataset, the algorithm achieved high performance. Additionally, the detection frame rate on the CPU reaches up to 33 fps, providing remarkable real-time performance in comparison to other algorithms. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.
