Pedestrian trajectory prediction as an essential part of reasoning human motion behaviors, has been deployed in a number of vision applications, such as autonomous navigation and video surveillance. Most existing methods adopt autoregressive frameworks to forecast the future trajectory, where the trajectory is iteratively generated based on the previous outputs. Such a process will suffer from large accumulated errors over the long-term forecast horizon. To address this issue, in this paper, we propose a Synchronous Bi-Directional framework (SBD) with error compensation for pedestrian trajectory prediction, which can greatly alleviate the error accumulation during prediction. Specifically, we first develop a bi-directional trajectory prediction mechanism, and force the predicting procedures for two opposite directions to be synchronous through a shared motion characteristic. Different from previous works, the mutual constraints inherent to our framework from the synchronous opposite-predictions can significantly prevent the error accumulation. In order to reduce the possible prediction error in each timestep, we further devise an error compensation network to model and compensate for the positional deviation between the ground-truth and the predicted trajectory, thus improving the prediction accuracy of our scheme. Experiments conducted on the Stanford Drone dataset and the ETH-UCY dataset show that our method achieves much better results than existing algorithms. Particularly, by resorting to our alleviation methodology for the error accumulation, our scheme exhibits superior performance in the long-term pedestrian trajectory prediction. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Power safety is closely related to people’s well-being. Electric power sectors regularly inspect and maintain power lines to guarantee people’s safe and stable use of electricity, and the current mainstream inspection method is to use UAVs for power inspection. Traditional inspection and detection methods have many shortcomings, such as high labor costs, slow inspection speed, low detection efficiency, and single detection targets. In this paper, a set of smart power inspection systems based on YOLOv7 was designed to check the common potential security risks of power lines such as bird nests, insulators, garbage, and hardware. After the detection, the detection report could be generated. The system adopted the YOLOv7 target detection algorithm. The accuracy rate of all detection targets was up to 93.9%, and the mAP @.5% reached 95.9%. Therefore, the algorithm could greatly improve the detection efficiency and greatly facilitate the electric power sectors to check power lines, so it has a high use value. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Considering the widespread applications of the model predictive control (MPC), such as industrial process control and robotic operations, this paper proposes an MPC-based asynchronous distributed algorithm to solve the consensus problem of multi-agent system (MAS) by using the operator splitting method. The proposed algorithm is asynchronous, which means that all agents do not require to update and communicate simultaneously. When the positive uncoordinated step sizes satisfy the given condition, the optimal solution can be worked out by using the proposed algorithm. Moreover, all agents are allowed to set the step sizes locally based on local information. Numerical simulation validates the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. © 2023 IEEE.

In English learning, speaking practice is crucial, but traditional classroom teaching can hardly meet the needs of most learners. In this paper, we investigate and improve the two essential techniques of pronunciation error detection and pronunciation quality evaluation in the Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) system. In terms of pronunciation error detection, We extracted phoneme pairs' discriminative acoustic and phonological features. We used Support Vector Machine (SVM) for pronunciation error detection, and the accuracy was improved to 81.26%. For pronunciation quality evaluation, we added two new dimensions of pronunciation fluency and intonation, innovatively designed the word duration ratio, and introduced the Support Vector Regression (SVR) algorithm to achieve the effective integration of different dimensional features. The experiments show that the improved pronunciation quality evaluation model has higher performance and practical value. © 2023 IEEE.

In order to solve the problem of small object size and low detection accuracy under the unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)platform,the object detection algorithm based on deep aggregation network and high-resolution fusion module is ***,a joint network of object detection and feature extraction is studied to construct a real-time multi-object tracking *** the problem of object association failure caused by UAV movement,image registration is applied to multi-object tracking and a camera motion discrimination model is proposed to improve the speed of the multi-object tracking *** simulation results show that the algorithm proposed in this study can improve the accuracy of multi-object tracking under the UAV platform,and effectively solve the problem of association failure caused by UAV movement.

Non-intrusive load monitoring (NILM) estimates the energy usage of individual devices by analyzing the total power meter data from a household. To address the issue of decreased monitoring accuracy with an increasing number of electricity meters, this paper proposes a solution for single appliance load monitoring (Tra-CNN). The solution uses the UK-DALE dataset, which contains high and low frequencies electricity consumption data of multiple households in the UK and the electricity consumption data of each household appliance, and uses the active power of the appliance as the input of the algorithm. The first part of the model consists of a convolutional layer, a normalization layer, and a dropout layer, with the primary task of capturing local dependencies in the data. The second part consists of a Transformer, whose self-attention mechanism associates features at different positions in the sequence to achieve modeling of long-term dependencies. The third part introduces a convolutional neural network, which uses a sliding window for convolution operations to extract local features from different positions and further extract features from sequence data. The final decoder consists of a transposed convolutional layer and a normalization layer, designed to revert the learned features to their original dimensions. Through experimental verification, the effectiveness and superiority of Tra-CNN are shown, which provides important ideas and methods for the further development of NILM technology. © 2024 IEEE.

Capturing the root cause and propagation path of the fault is critical to ensuring the safety and efficiency of industrial processes, especially those that inadequately utilize process knowledge and data. To address this issue, a unified framework integrating knowledge and data for collaborative root cause identification is proposed. First, the knowledge causal graph (KCG) is constructed using expert knowledge and industrial flow charts, providing a preliminary reference for subsequent causality analysis. Next, by replacing the traditional vector autoregression (VAR) model in Granger Causality (GC) with the gated recurrent unit (GRU), a more reliable causal relationship between variables is obtained. Additionally, a causality fusion propagation path identification method (CF-PPI) is designed to identify the root cause and propagation path of the fault, so that the obtained fault propagation path has less redundancy and higher accuracy. Finally, the method is validated using data from the ASHRAE RP-1043 centrifugal chiller. © 2024 IEEE.

Stress is an emotional state that affects our lives, so it is vital to detect it accurately. Numerous studies have shown that tissue oxygen saturation (StO2) is an effective physiological signal for identifying different stress states. However, previous StO2 feature extraction methods relied too heavily on baselines to be realized in practice. In this paper, a two-stream network combining shallow and deep features, called CRNet, is proposed for baseline-independent StO2 stress classification. In CRNet, shallow features are extracted using a CNN network and deep features are extracted using a ResNet network. For the extracted high-dimensional deep features, MLP module is employed for dimensionality reduction, which can effectively combine the two levels of features and improve the feature extraction capability of the network. Experimental results show that CRNet can significantly improve the performance of StO2 stress classification to the state-of-the-art (SOTA) even when using only raw imbalanced data. © 2023 IEEE.

In recent years, a variety of emergency events have been occurring in buildings in countries. For there are some differences between male and female in movement ability and evacuation behavior, gender has a non-negligible impact on evacuation and decision-making of emergency events. Thus, it is of great practical significance to detect the gender of pedestrians at entrances or exits of buildings in real time to grasp the proportion of different gender people in buildings and to formulate emergency warning or evacuation strategies scientifically. In response to the requirement of rapid emergency response, this paper proposes a pedestrian gender detection method based on a lightweight object detection model YOLOX-Tiny. In addition, considering the inaccurate pedestrian gender detection caused by the change of pedestrian posture and camera angle, the attention mechanism CBAM is introduced to enhance the ability of filtering a large amount of redundant information, obtaining key information and acquiring pedestrian gender characteristic information. Through the experiments of self-made pedestrian gender datasets, the results show that the detection accuracy of the improved model is increased by 1.8%, and the detection speed reaches 251FPS, which can meet both speed and accuracy of pedestrian gender detection in emergencies. © 2024 IEEE.

Nowadays,Web browsers have become an important carrier of 3D model visualization because of their convenience and *** the process of large-scale 3D model visualization based on Web scenes with the problems of slow rendering speed and low FPS(Frames Per Second),occlusion culling,as an important method for rendering optimization,can remove most of the occluded objects and improve rendering *** traditional occlusion culling algorithm(TOCA)is calculated by traversing all objects in the scene,which involves a large amount of repeated calculation and time *** advance the rendering process and enhance rendering efficiency,this paper proposes an occlusion culling with three different optimization methods based on the WebGPU Computing ***,for the problem of large amounts of repeated calculation processes in TOCA,these units are moved from the CPU to the GPU for parallel computing,thereby accelerating the calculation of the Potential Visible Sets(PVS);Then,for the huge overhead of creating pipeline caused by too many 3D models in a certain scene,the Breaking Occlusion Culling Algorithm(BOCA)is introduced,which removes some nodes according to building a Hierarchical Bounding Volume(BVH)scene tree to reduce the overhead of creating pipelines;After that,the structure of the scene tree is transmitted to the GPU in the order of depth-first traversal and finally,the PVS is obtained by parallel *** the experiments,3D geological models with five different scales from 1:5,000 to 1:500,000 are used for *** results show that the proposed methods can reduce the time overhead of repeated calculation caused by the computing pipeline creation and scene tree recursive traversal in the occlusion culling algorithm effectively,with 97%rendering efficiency improvement compared with BOCA,thereby accelerating the rendering process on Web browsers.
