Enhancing fundus images is crucial for early diagnosis and monitoring of retinal diseases. Although CNN and Transformer-based methods have made great progress, CNNs struggle with long-range dependencies, and Transformers face challenges with large model sizes and low computational efficiency. To address these issues, Selective Structured State-Space Models (SSMs) offer an efficient solution with linear complexity. However, standard Mamba models still suffer from local pixel information loss and channel redundancy, limiting their performance in fundus image enhancement. We propose MambaFE, which incorporates localized refinement and an advanced channel attention mechanism to resolve challenges such as pixel detail loss and excessive channel information. Considering that retinal structures play a vital role in fundus analysis, retaining these structures during the enhancement process is crucial. As retinal structures are predominantly located within the high-frequency components of fundus images, we introduce a frequency-guided approach to capture reliable representations of these features, ensuring improved retention of essential information during enhancement. Comprehensive experimental findings indicate that the proposed MambaFE outperforms contemporary fundus image enhancement techniques, significantly enhancing the quality of clinically low-quality and synthetically degraded fundus images, while offering robust support for real-world medical applications. © 2024 IEEE.

Structural model updating based on metamodel using modal frequencies

Modal frequencies are often used in structural model updating, based on the finite element model, while the metamodel approach is often used in the respective optimization process. In this work, the Kriging model is adopted as the metamodel. First, the influence of different correlation functions of Kriging model is inspected, followed by the investigation of the approximate capability of Kriging model by inspecting the approximate accuracy of nonlinear functions. Next, a model updating procedure is proposed, based on the Kriging model, constructed using samples generated via the method of Optimal Latin Hypercube. Finally, a typical frame structure is taken as a case study, demonstrating the feasibility and efficiency of the proposed approach. The results show that, the Kriging model can match the target functions very well, while the finite element model can achieve accurate frequencies and can reliably predict the frequencies after model updating. © 2021, Gruppo Italiano Frattura. Histology image annotation is costly and time-consuming. Utilizing Positive and Unlabeled (PU) data for model training offers a more resource-efficient alternative. However, previous methods for PU learning suffer from the noise arising from label assignment to unlabeled data. We observe that predictions on noisy data lack consistency under data augmentation. In this paper, we present Field of View (FoV) consistency regularization for PU segmentation in histology images, which effectively reduces the noise influence by promoting consistent predictions across varying FoVs. Using only 20% of positive labels on the Glas Dataset, our approach outperforms previous methods, achieving a Dice score of 90.69%-almost reaching the fully supervised result of 93.30%. In this paper, by using the flux-controlled memristor model, the finite-time synchronization problem of delayed complex-valued memristive neural networks (MCNNs) is studied. Firstly, according to the proposed memristor model, we model the MCNNs as continuous systems on voltage-flux-time (wp, varpi, t) domain. Then, we design a class of approaches to realize state synchronization between the drive and response systems, and the corresponding synchronization conditions are achieved. Finally, the effectiveness of results is illustrated with the simulations. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, an optimized enhanced-mode p-GaN high electron mobility transistor (p-GaN HEMT) is proposed, in which the barrier layer is set into a composite structure with a lateral gradient of Aluminum component (LGC) from the drain edge under the gate towards both source and drain, respectively. By leveraging the polarization effects from different heterojunctions, a two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) with gradually changing density is formed laterally in the channel layer, which more precisely modulates the electric field distribution in the gate-drain region, enhances the voltage resistance of it, and reduces leakage current, thereby enhancing the breakdown voltage of the device and improving the output performance. The breakdown voltage of the proposed optimized LGC-HEMT under simulation is 716.73V, which is 13.1 % higher than that of the conventional p-GaN HEMT (633.64V), while the specific on-resistance $(\mathrm{R}_{\mathrm{o}\mathrm{n},\mathrm{s}\mathrm{p}})$ is only 1.34 $m\Omega\cdot cm^{2}$ , and the Baliga's figure of merit (BFOM) changes from 216.42 to 382.68 $MW/cm^2$ , which is 76.82% higher, hinting at the promising potential of the proposed HEMT.

In the field of computer-aided medicine, automated surgical gesture recognition is an important research direction. Its main applications include automated skills assessment, intraoperative guidance, and education and training systems. Current research has focused on robotic surgery, and there is less research on surgical gestures for open surgery. Therefore, in this study, a new simulated open surgery dataset was developed, and a series of surgical gestures for open surgery were defined for closure the abdomen surgery with the cooperation of professional doctors. In addition, this paper uses the classical algorithm 3DCNN and SlowFast model in the field of action recognition to perform offline recognition of surgical gestures for open surgery on the dataset. 3DCNN uses R3D and R(2+1)D models. The experimental results show that on the self-built open surgical dataset, the R3D model has the best surgical gesture recognition results, with an accuracy rate of 90.4%, a precision rate of 90.5%, and a recall rate of 90.0%. © 2024 IEEE.

Synchronization of Hyper-Lorenz System Based on DNA Strand Displacement

Lorenz system is depicted by chemical reaction equations of an ideal formal chemical reaction network, and a series of reversible reactions are added into chemical reaction network in order to construct a cluster of hyper-Lorenz system. DNA as a universal substrate for chemical dynamics can approximate arbitrary dynamical characteristics of ideal formal chemical reaction network through auxiliary DNA strands and displacement reactions. Based on Lyapunov's stableness theory, a novel synchronization strategy is proposed. A 6-dimensional hyper-Lorenz system is taken as examples for simulation and shows that DNA strands displacement reactions can implement the synchronization of ideal formal chemical reaction networks. Numerical simulations indicate that synchronization based on DNA strand displacement is robust to the detection of DNA strand concentration, control of reaction rate, and noise. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

A broadband transmissive linear-to-circular polarization conversion metamaterial composed of 5-layer '-shaped units was designed, and it was placed directly above the ordinary linear polarization antenna so that the antenna can radiate circular polarization waves. The 3dB axial ratio bandwidth is 11.5GHz-14.5GHz, and the relative axial ratio bandwidth reaches 23%, which proves that the polarization conversion surface has good polarization conversion characteristics. © 2021 Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society (ACES).

The evolution process of magnetic domains in response to external fields is crucial for the modern understanding and application of *** this study,we investigated the domain rotation in stripe domain films of varying thicknesses by examining their response to microwave excitation in four different *** resonance spectra indicate that the rotation field of stripe domain film under an applied magnetic field approaches the field where the resonance mode of sample *** saturation field of the stripe domain film corresponds to the field where the resonance mode disappears when measured in the stripe direction parallel to the microwave magnetic *** results are reproducible and consistent with micromagnetic simulations,providing additional approaches and techniques for comprehending the microscopic mechanisms of magnetic domains and characterizing their rotation.
