One-Pot Synthesis of Tetraarylpyrrolo[3,2-b]pyrrole Dopant-Free Hole-Transport Materials for Inverted Perovskite Solar Cells

Four organic smallmolecule hole transport materials(D41, D42,D43 and D44) of tetraarylpyrrolo[3,2-b]pyrroles were prepared. They can be used without doping in the manufacture of the inverted planar perovskite solar cells. Tetraarylpyrrolo[3,2-b]pyrroles are accessible for one-pot synthesis.D42, D43 and D44 possess acceptor-π-donor-π-acceptor structure, on which the aryl bearing substitutes of cyan, fluorine and trifluoromethyl, respectively. Instead, the aryl moiety of D41 is in presence of methyl with a donor-π-donor-π-donor structure. The different substitutes significantly affected their molecular surface charge distribution and thin-film morphology, attributing to the electron-rich properties of fused pyrrole ring. The size of perovskite crystalline growth particles is affected by different molecular structures,and the electron-withdrawing cyan group of D42 is most conducive to the formation of large perovskite grains. The D42 fabricated devices with power conversion efficiency of17.3% and retained 55% of the initial photoelectric conversion efficiency after 22 days in dark condition. The pyrrolo[3,2-b]pyrrole is efficient electron-donating moiety for hole transporting materials to form good substrate in producing perovskite thin film.

High-speed laser material deposition (HLMD) technology significantly enhances deposition efficiency while maintaining quality. The core of designing HLMD lies in formulating the laser-powder coupling, through considering nozzle structural and deposition process parameters. In this study, we constructed a laser-powder coupling model that accounts for the impact of aerodynamic drag on powder particle movement and the heating effect of laser of flying powders. The model delineates the coupling mechanism between the laser beam and a discontinuous coaxial powder stream (DCPS), comprised of individual single powder streams (SPSs). Simulations were executed to assess the effects of nozzle structural parameters and deposition process parameters on the DCPS spot size and SPS particle temperature distribution. Simultaneously, a data pretreatment method, involving gray processing, normalization, and renormalization of the thermal images successively, was applied to measure the particle temperature distribution, and validate the laser-powder coupling model. The simulation results indicate that the DCPS spot size is predominantly influenced by nozzle structural parameters, including the nozzle exit diameter and injection angle. The SPS particle temperature distribution, meanwhile, is chiefly impacted by deposition process parameters like mean particle diameter, powder mass flow rate, and laser power. To achieve molten powder and uniform particle temperature distribution on the deposition plane within the DCPS, nozzle structural parameters and deposition process parameters were jointly designed, aligned with nozzle manufacturing prerequisites. The deposition rate of HLMD designed by this method is 1.7 times that of conventional laser material deposition, during processing of 316L stainless steel. This paper pioneers a new design methodology for HLMD, presenting a promising avenue for future applications. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Sign languages are the primary medium of communication for the deaf and hearing-impaired community, and the number of human beings with hearing impairment is increasing at a rapid rate. There is a signifîcant communication barrier between the hearing-impaired and normal-hearing communities. One solution to this issue is to offload the effort of text imderstanding for the deaf and hearing-impaired community in the form of Sign Language Generation (SLG). In this paper, first of all, we systematically review the mainstream Neural Machine Translation (NMT)based SLG approaches. Specifically, according to their model architectures, we divide them into two categories: the Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs)-based and Transformer-based models, and discuss their advantages and limitations. Next, we introduce the existing publicly available datasets and the data pre pros ses sing methods in the field of SLG. Then, we summarize the performance evaluation methods for NMT-based SLG models. Finally, we offer two possible future research directions for better development in the field of SLG. © 2021 IEEE

Snapshot compressed imaging (SCI) can encode an image sequence into a single-frame measurement and has the advantages of low requirements for physical sensors, low bandwidth/ memory requirements, and a fast acquisition speed. However, existing snapshot compressed imaging mainly focuses on incoherent imaging, such as video/hyperspectral imaging, and research on coherent imaging is rare. In this paper, snapshot compressed sensing is introduced for coherent imaging conditions, and a spatio-temporal coherent snapshot compressed imaging method with time-varying composite phase masks is proposed. Numerical experiments demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of our proposed spatio-temporal coherent snapshot compressed imaging with time-varying composite phase masks method (CSCI-CPM) in terms of the reconstruction quality and robustness for both self-sparse and complex cases. © 2023, The Authors. A modified coprime array (CA) with a name of extended CA (ECA) is presented and constructed to reduce over-lapping sensors between sum and difference coarray using conventional CA (CCA) to get a sum-difference coarray with high degrees- of-freedoms (DOFs). The devised ECA is to shift a sub array of CCA to reduce redundancy and then to flip part of shifted sub array around zero point that is regarded as symmetric center. The onstructed ECA expands the inter-element separations with lower mutual coupling. Numerical simulation are provided to verify superiority of the devised ECA. © 2022 IEEE.

Topologically protected localized states are commonly existent inside bulk band gaps with topological features, which, however, can be shifted to coexist with a continuous spectrum under particular coupling modulations, forming the so-called topological bound states in the continuum (BICs). These embedded topological states have so far been derived under the Hermitian assumptions that neglect the influence of nonconservative characteristics of classical wave systems on the topological properties. In this study, with a one-dimensional trimerized elastic lattice, we report the experimental demonstration of topological edge states in the continuum produced solely by non-Hermiticity, without additional coupling modulation. The trimerized elastic lattice is a chain of plates connected through thin beams, with the non-Hermiticity introduced by attaching constrained damping layers to particular sites in the chain assembly. We prove that appropriately tailored non-Hermitian modulation can induce topological edge states that appear in the bulk spectrum rather than exist in the band gap. Besides, the existence of such topological edge states is observed to be closely linked to the configurations of the lattice boundaries. This study affirms that non-Hermiticity can play an important role in creating topological BICs, gaining insight into the non-Hermitian topological physics and offering interesting avenues for exploring sophisticated non-Hermitian topological phenomena including higher-order topology in the continuum.

This paper solves the neural network (NN) tracking control problem for uncertain nonlinear servo system with time-varying parameters and uncertainties. To address the uncertain nonlinear function with unknown time-varying parameters (i.e., unknown nonlinear spatiotemporal function), the time-varying parameter extraction method is used to separate the time-varying parameters from uncertain nonlinear spatiotemporal function, which yields an unknown state-based boundary function. By the tools of NN and adaptive technology, an adaptive neural tracking controller is designed, which guarantees the uniformly ultimately bounded (UUB) performance of the resulting closed-loop system. The effectiveness of the designed method is verified by simulations.

This study investigated the effect of Pt-Al coating on the fatigue behavior of a second-generation single-crystal superalloy (DD5) at different temperatures. The Pt-Al bond coat was deposited on the superalloy, and rotating-bend fatigue tests were conducted at 700 ℃ and 900 ℃. The results showed that the bond coat did not affect the fatigue life at 900 ℃ but improved the fatigue strength at 700 ℃ under low-stress amplitude. However, at high-stress amplitude, the bond coat reduced the fatigue performance at 700 ℃. The fracture morphologies and cross-sectional microstructure were characterized to understand the fatigue crack initiation and propagation mechanisms. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology plays a key role in driving the development of a green and smart Energy Internet. As one of the application areas of the Energy Internet, lane detection in intelligent transportation systems can provide accurate real-time traffic data, thus supporting intelligent scheduling and resource optimization, reducing congestion, energy consumption, and emissions, and improving overall energy efficiency. Therefore, deep learning-based lane detection methods can further enhance the intelligence level of the Energy Internet and promote its efficient operation. However, current methods often rely on Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), which excel at local feature extraction but struggle to capture global information in complex conditions. In varying light, shadows, and obstacles, CNNs struggle to integrate information, leading to inaccuracies, particularly in dense traffic or complex road structures, where diverse local features result in identification errors and hinder lane continuity. This reduces decision-making efficiency and increases energy consumption. Consequently, we present LFKNet, a lane detection framework designed for the fusion of the Lane Focus Mechanism (LFM) and Kolmogorov-Arnold Network (KAN) to enhance accuracy and robustness. It consists of two key components: the Lane Focus Mechanism , which utilizes the geometrical topology of lanes for improved global fea ture extraction in complex scenarios, and the Kolmogorov-Arnold Network, which employs a learnable nonlinear activation function to optimize performance on complex and nonlinear features. The experiments demonstrate that LFKNet achieves 97.00% accuracy with a 97.76% F1-score on the Tusimple dataset. It also achieves a 79.43% F1-score on the CULane dataset. Overall, LFKNet’s performance validates its effectiveness in lane detection, enabling accurate traffic monitoring and analysis while providing reliable data support for the Energy Internet.
