knowledge Graph (KG)-augmented Large Language Models (LLMs) have recently propelled significant advances in complex reasoning tasks, thanks to their broad domain knowledge and contextual awareness. Unfortunately, current methods often assume KGs to be complete, which is impractical given the inherent limitations of KG construction and the potential loss of contextual cues when converting unstructured text into entity-relation triples. In response, this paper proposes the Triple Context Restoration and Query-driven Feedback (TCR-QF) framework, which reconstructs the textual context underlying each triple to mitigate information loss, while dynamically refining the KG structure by iteratively incorporating query-relevant missing knowledge. Experiments on five benchmark question-answering datasets substantiate the effectiveness of TCR-QF in KG and LLM integration, where it achieves a 29.1% improvement in Exact Match and a 15.5% improvement in F1 over its state-of-the-art GraphRAG competitors. © 2025, CC BY.

In this paper,we consider numerical solutions of the fractional diffusion equation with theαorder time fractional derivative defined in the Caputo-Hadamard sense.A high order time-stepping scheme is constructed,analyzed,and numerically *** contribution of the paper is twofold:1)regularity of the solution to the underlying equation is investigated,2)a rigorous stability and convergence analysis for the proposed scheme is performed,which shows that the proposed scheme is 3+αorder *** numerical examples are provided to verify the theoretical statement.

LLMIdxAdvis: Resource-Efficient Index Advisor Utilizing Large Language Model

Index recommendation is essential for improving query performance in database management systems (DBMSs) through creating an optimal set of indexes under specific constraints. Traditional methods, such as heuristic and learning-based approaches, are effective but face challenges like lengthy recommendation time, resource-intensive training, and poor generalization across different workloads and database schemas. To address these issues, we propose LLMIdxAdvis, a resource-efficient index advisor that uses large language models (LLMs) without extensive fine-tuning. LLMIdxAdvis frames index recommendation as a sequence-to-sequence task, taking target workload, storage constraint, and corresponding database environment as input, and directly outputting recommended indexes. It constructs a high-quality demonstration pool offline, using GPT-4-Turbo to synthesize diverse SQL queries and applying integrated heuristic methods to collect both default and refined labels. During recommendation, these demonstrations are ranked to inject database expertise via in-context learning. Additionally, LLMIdxAdvis extracts workload features involving specific column statistical information to strengthen LLM’s understanding, and introduces a novel inference scaling strategy combining vertical scaling (via "Index-Guided Major Voting" and Best-of-N) and horizontal scaling (through iterative "self-optimization" with database feedback) to enhance reliability. Experiments on 3 OLAP and 2 real-world benchmarks reveal that LLMIdxAdvis delivers competitive index recommendation with reduced runtime, and generalizes effectively across different workloads and database schemas. Multimodal Fusion for Android Malware Detection Based on Large Pre-Trained Models

Malware detection is a critical issue in software engineering as it directly threatens user information security. Existing approaches often focus on individual modality (either source code or binary code) for the detection, but it ignores to effectively exploit the complementary information between them. This limits the detection performance, especially in complex and evasive malware scenarios. In this paper, we take Android applications written in Java as objects, and provide a novel fine-grained multimodal fusion method with large pre-trained models to combine the features from source and binary codes for the malware detection. For the source code modality, we employ the graphical user interface (GUI) as a framework to segment the source code into snippets, and use a pre-trained programming language model to extract feature representations. For the binary code modality, we convert binary code into grayscale images and fine-tune a pre-trained vision model to extract features indirectly. We then implement cross-modal attention and devise a contrastive loss to align features across modalities, supplementing this with supervised classification loss to refine the multimodal fusion process specifically for malware detection. Our experiments, conducted using the data-MD and data-MC benchmarks, demonstrate that our approach achieves a precision of 0.977 and a recall of 0.984 in detecting malware. This underscores the advantages of using large pre-trained models for feature representation and the fusion of information across different modalities for effective malware detection. © 1976-2012 IEEE.

Most existing Salient Object Detection (SOD) methods focus on achieving better performance, often resulting in models with a large number of parameters. However, there is limited research on lightweight models in this field. To address this gap, our goal is to maintain performance while reducing the number of network parameters. Thanks to the development of large-kernel convolutions in recent years, we have improved the U2Net as the base network by adding our lightweight dual large-kernel fusion module. Our module better utilizes the depth information of U2Net and, due to the large receptive field of large-kernel convolutions, better captures the relationships between image elements. This allows our network to remain lightweight while maintaining performance. We designed a large-kernel (DLK) fusion module and a lightweight dual grouped large-kernel Unet network (DGLKUNET). Our network uses SRUS (an improved Residual U-blocks module, RUS) to construct DGLKUNET that predicts image contours and labels. Compared to the base RUS network (U2Net), our network reduces the number of parameters by up to 70% and the computational cost by 40% while maintaining performance. The dual challenges of energy crises and waste management have spurred interest in a circular economy, where biomass, valued for its carbon neutrality, is crucial. Remote areas, rich in biomass, are also becoming hubs for data center (DC) construction. Despite DCs’ low energy efficiency and production of low-grade waste heat, recovering this heat offers a promising path toward a circular economy. There are few systematic studies on the relationships among DC energy supply, waste heat generation, and renewable energy resources. In this study, we formulate day-ahead, real-time optimal scheduling strategies to provide electricity, heat, and gas using a complementary photovoltaic-biomass system. The biogas production process requires heat to promote the anaerobic reaction, and the adaptation temperature of anaerobic bacteria matches the low-quality waste heat generated from of the DC. We realize a circular economy by coupling a DC and a renewable energy system by directly using the waste heat from the DC and by using the queuing theory of the DC’s delay tolerance workload for partial load response. Moreover, the nonlinearity in the process is linearized by the least squares method. Actual data calculations show that the introduction of biogas can result in a fully renewable energy supply. Based on specific configurations—including a 350 kW PV system, 450 kWh BSS, 250 kW CHP unit, and an AD operating at 20°C to 45°C—the system is tested under 0% and 50% carbon emission scenarios. The DC workload combines delay-tolerant and delay-sensitive tasks, enabling flexible scheduling for energy and heat optimization, the power usage effectiveness (PUE) of the DC decreases from 1.73 to 1.24, operating expenses decrease by 36.06%, and system energy consumption decreases by 44.6%. © 2020 IEEE.

A helical resonator with a certain resonant frequency and a high-quality factor (Q-factor) is critical for an ion trap system, which results in a larger trap depth, longer trap time, and lower radiofrequency (RF) noise. Here, we propose a new method for driving amplitude-adjustable multiple RF ion trap electrodes. By dividing the output of the helical resonator into multiple circuits and simultaneously driving the ion trap multi-RF electrodes, each circuit is composed of capacitors connected in series, and the desired amplitude is applied to the ion trap RF electrodes using capacitive voltage dividing. In contrast, the capacitance of the multi-RF capacitors connected in series is determined by three constraints. Different voltages for each circuit are realized while keeping the phase consistent. Both the circuit simulation and analog simulations have been adopted to demonstrate the validity of proposed method, which has significant potential to be applied in the ion trap structure of multiplexed RF electrodes and contributing to the realization of ion trap-based quantum information processing. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

Runoff forecasting plays a crucial role in water resource management and flood mitigation, but it often faces significant challenges due to data deficiency and decentralized datasets. Inadequate hydrological data in many watersheds hinders the development of accurate prediction models, while organizational barriers and concerns about data privacy lead to information silos, preventing effective collaborative modeling. To address these issues, we propose FedHydroDSW, a novel personalized federated learning framework for runoff forecasting in data-scarce watersheds. Our approach enables decentralized model training across multiple organizations without requiring direct data sharing, thus preserving data privacy. FedHydroDSW incorporates unique model similarity metrics and parameter adaptation methods, utilizing insights from data-rich areas to refine forecasts in data-scarce regions. Experiments on the CAMELS dataset show that FedHydroDSW significantly outperforms standalone and conventional federated learning methods, with an average 30.1% increase in NSE, and reductions of 28% in RAE and 26.6% in RMSE across multiple data-scarce basins. By enabling secure cross-silo learning, our FedHydroDSW strategy paves the way toward more equitable runoff forecasting globally. The customized training and pattern recognition techniques represent major progress in deploying federated intelligence for impactful hydrological predictions. In video compression, motion estimation and motion compensation are critical for achieving efficient encoding. Although the commonly used SpyNet and bilinear interpolation have contributed in improving the compression efficiency, they still have limitations. SpyNet often loses details and fails to fully utilize the feature extraction capabilities of deep networks. Furthermore, bilinear interpolation inherently attenuates high-frequency information, leading to frame blurring and distortion. In this paper, we propose a novel video compression algorithm. To overcome the limitations of SpyNet, we propose a refined adaptive flow pyramid network. This network uses a multi-scale feature pyramid to capture more details. Moreover, we use an iterative cost volume refinement engine that improves the feature representation of the network and iteratively improve the accuracy of motion estimation. In addition, to overcome the limitation of bilinear interpolation, we propose a coordinate-aware attention module, which captures more high-frequency information to improve the accuracy of motion compensation. Experimental results show that our method outperforms VTM-13.2 (LDP) in terms of PSNR. © 2025 IEEE.
