Graph-based Cognitive Diagnosis (CD) has attracted much research interest due to its strong ability on inferring students' proficiency levels on knowledge concepts. While graph-based CD models have demonstrated remarkable performance, we contend that they still cannot achieve optimal performance due to the neglect of edge heterogeneity and uncertainty. Edges involve both correct and incorrect response logs, indicating heterogeneity. Meanwhile, a response log can have uncertain semantic meanings, e.g., a correct log can indicate true mastery or fortunate guessing, and a wrong log can indicate a lack of understanding or a careless mistake. In this paper, we propose an Informative Semantic-aware Graph-based Cognitive Diagnosis model (ISG-CD), which focuses on how to utilize the heterogeneous graph in CD and minimize effects of uncertain edges. Specifically, to explore heterogeneity, we propose a semantic-aware graph neural networks based CD model. To minimize effects of edge uncertainty, we propose an Informative Edge Differentiation layer from an information bottleneck perspective, which suggests keeping a minimal yet sufficient reliable graph for CD in an unsupervised way. We formulate this process as maximizing mutual information between the reliable graph and response logs, while minimizing mutual information between the reliable graph and the original graph. After that, we prove that mutual information maximization can be theoretically converted to the classic binary cross entropy loss function, while minimizing mutual information can be realized by the Hilbert-Schmidt Independence ***, we adopt an alternating training strategy for optimizing learnable parameters of both the semantic-aware graph neural networks based CD model and the edge differentiation layer. Extensive experiments on three real-world datasets have demonstrated the effectiveness of ISG-CD.

YTHDF1 shapes immune-mediated hepatitis via regulating inflammatory cell recruitment and response

Severe immune responses regulate the various clinical hepatic injuries, includingautoimmune hepatitis and acute viral hepatitis. N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification is acrucial regulator of immunity and inflammation. However, the precise role of YTHDF1 in Tcell-mediated hepatitis remains incompletely characterized. To address this, we utilizedConcanavalin A (ConA)-induced mouse liver damage as an experimental model for T cell-mediated hepatitis. Our findings found that hepatic YTHDF1 protein rapidly decreased during ConAinduced hepatitis, and YTHDF1-deficient (Ythdf1^(-/-)) mice showed more susceptibility toConA-induced liver injury, along with an intensified inflammatory storm accompanied by aggravated hepatic inflammatory response via ERK and NF-κB pathways. Interestingly, hepatic-specific over-expression or deletion of YTHDF1 exhibited redundancy in ConA-induced liver *** in bone marrow chimeric mice confirmed the necessity of YTHDF1 in hematopoieticcells for controlling the response to ConA-induced hepatitis. Additionally, our data revealedthat YTHDF1 deletion in macrophages exacerbated the inflammatory response induced by lipopolysaccharide. In summary, our study uncovered that YTHDF1 deficiency exacerbates the immune response in ConA-induced hepatitis by modulating the expression of inflammatorymediators, highlighting the potential of YTHDF1 as a therapeutic target for clinical hepatitis.

Navigation services enable users to find the shortest path from a starting point S to a destination D, reducing time, gas, and traffic congestion. Still, navigation users risk the exposure of their sensitive location data. Our motivation arises from how users can accurately, securely, and efficiently navigate from S to Dwhile passing through k unordered stops, i.e., midway locations with a non-fixed visiting order. In this work, we formally define Semi-Constrained Navigation (SCN) and present a novel scheme Hermestoachieveaccurate,secure, andefficient SCN. Specifically, weproposeadivide-and-conquerapproachtostrikeagoodbalance betweenaccuracyandefficiency. It recursively depth-first-searches the whole area (a navigation tree) and invokes five carefully-crafted strategies stop-by-stop to compute three subpaths in three se quential subareas. We construct a path-distance oracle to encrypt the road graph and securely implement the strategies by using homomorphic encryption and garble circuits. We formally prove the security in the random oracle model and analyze the search complexity to be less than O(k2). We experiment over a real-world city map and compare with six baselines. Results show that path search with k = 4 among N = 1000 intersections requires 5.58 seconds with a 3.2% distance deviation rate and an 82.5% path similarity. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

Solar flares are violent solar outbursts which have a great influence on the space environment surrounding Earth,potentially causing disruption of the ionosphere and interference with the geomagnetic field,thus causing magnetic ***,it is very important to accurately predict the time period of solar *** paper proposes a flare prediction model,based on physical images of active solar *** employ X-ray flux curves recorded directly by the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite,used as input data for the model,allowing us to largely avoid the influence of accidental errors,effectively improving the model prediction efficiency.A model based on the X-ray flux curve can predict whether there will be a flare event within 24 *** reverse can also be verified by the peak of the X-ray flux curve to see if a flare has occurred within the past 24 *** True Positive Rate and False Positive Rate of the prediction model,based on physical images of active regions are 0.6070 and 0.2410 respectively,and the accuracy and True Skill Statistics are 0.7590 and *** model can effectively improve prediction efficiency compared with models based on the physical parameters of active regions or magnetic field records,providing a simple method for solar flare prediction.

Recently,the Third Pole(TP)region has experienced rapid environmental *** data are essential for hydrometeorological and ecological applications but still have large uncertainties on the TP owing to the heterogeneous land surface,complex terrain,and sparse weather *** this study,a long-term(1979–2020)high-resolution(1/30°)meteorological forcing dataset for the TP(TPMFD)was developed,as a sister to the widely used China Meteorological Forcing dataset(CMFD).The TPMFD comprises seven components necessary for driving land surface *** have previously contributed precipitation and downward shortwave radiation data for the TPMFD,and this study presents the development of five other components and focuses on validations for all ***,2-meter air temperature,2-meter specific humidity,10-meter wind speed,and surface air pressure were generated by combining the fifth-generation atmospheric reanalysis for European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts(ERA5),a short-term high-resolution atmospheric simulation,and in situ observations,and the downward longwave radiation was calculated using semi-physical *** cross-validation and independent-validation demonstrated that most variables in the developed dataset outperformed those in widely used reanalysis datasets,including ERA5,ERA5-Land,and the Global Land data Assimilation System(GLDAS).This dataset is expected to be beneficial for climate analyses and modeling applications of land-surface processes on the TP.

Logs record essential information about system operations and serve as a critical source for anomaly detection, which has generated growing research interest. Utilizing large language models (LLMs) within a retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) framework for log-based anomaly detection is an effective approach due to its strong generalization capabilities and efficient few-shot performance. However, the effectiveness of this method hinges on the quality of the knowledge source, which can be impacted by noise and changes within the software systems. Facing these problems, in this paper, we propose a novel log-based anomaly detection method named EagerLog, employing active learning to choose the logs for humans to label, thereby adding them to the knowledge source, thus enhancing the knowledge source and maintaining its quality. Our experiments on three open datasets (BGL, Thunderbird, Zookeeper) and one industrial dataset demonstrate that EagerLog can achieve 93.65% F1 score with approximately 10 labeled log sequences, surpassing existing methods by 15.32%. © 2025 IEEE.

Photon counting imaging detector based on microchannel plate (MCP) and position-sensitive anode readout has the ability to detect single photon, and has been widely used in space detection, high-energy physics and bioluminescence imaging. Traditionally, the detector consists of photocathode, electron multiplication part and position decoding part, in which position decoding is accomplished by position sensitive anode. The delay line anode not only has high spatial resolution and large detection area, but also has high count rate. Based on the principle of delay line decoding, an induction readout cross delay line anode (XDL) is designed and fabricated. And the performance of the detector is tested by using the experimental system. The results show that the width of XDL anode output pulse (FWHM) is about 4ns, the spatial resolution of the detector is better than 100μm, and the dark count rate is 2s). © 2025 SPIE.

A novel single-phase Ca3Gd2Si3O12:Dy3+, Sm3+ phosphor exhibiting high thermal stability for solid-state lighting applications

In order to obtain efficient single-phase co-doped phosphors with excellent luminescence properties under near-ultraviolet excitation, Ca3Gd2Si3O12:xDy3+ (CGSO: xDy3+) and Ca3Gd2Si3O12:0.08Dy3+, ySm3+ (CGSO:0.08Dy3+, ySm3+) phosphors were effectively manufactured using the classical high-temperature solid-phase method. The phase structure, morphology and XPS test results of the phosphor all show that the Ca3Gd2Si3O12(CGSO) material has been successfully synthesized, and Dy3+ and Sm3+ ions have been successfully doped into the matrix lattice. Under 362 nm illumination, the PL spectra of CGSO:0.08Dy3+, ySm3+ phosphor revealed that the typical peak intensity of Dy3+ ions declined as the amount of Sm3+ ions increased, whereas the distinctive peak intensity of Sm3+ ions achieved its maximum at y = 0.07. As Sm3+ doping grows larger, the fluorescence lifetime shortens, signifying the occurrence of transferring energy among Dy3+ and Sm3+ ions, with a maximum efficiency of 81 % being attained. The Ca3Gd2Si3O12:0.08Dy3+, ySm3+ phosphor demonstrates a commendable thermal stability of 90.17 %, with adjustments to the Sm3+ concentration revealing the potential to yield warm white light, as evidenced by both CIE chromaticity coordinates and CCT measurements. In addition, compared with the phosphor containing only Dy3+, the LED assembled with CGSO:0.08Dy3+, ySm3+ phosphor containing Sm3+ ions and 365 nm LED chip emits warmer white light with lower color temperature, which confirms the application value of CGSO:0.08Dy3+, ySm3+ phosphor in the domain of solid-state lighting. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd and Techna Group S.r.l.
