Spatiotemporal deformation analysis of glaciers and surrounding landscapes in the Shishapangma region using InSAR techniques

Highly Robust and Diverse Coverless Image Steganography Against Passive and Active Steganalysis

To avoid the pixel modification traces left by steganography from being detected by passive steganalysis, and to prevent the hidden data from being destroyed by active steganalysis attacks, Coverless Image Steganography (CIS) that does not modify pixels has attracted widespread attention. However, most existing CIS methods are limited in their maximum capacity due to insufficient diversity in their hash sequences. In addition, these methods struggle to maintain high robustness against both geometric and non-geometric attacks simultaneously. To address these two issues, a new coverless image steganography method is proposed to enhance CIS methods’ applicability, security, and robustness in highly insecure networks. During the hiding process, hash sequences are generated by a SHA-256 algorithm that integrates inter-block and inter-channel fusion, providing higher diversity than other CIS methods. Consequently, the proposed CIS method achieves higher capacity on publicly available datasets. During the extraction process, an evaluation metric that combines visual and histogram similarity is designed to improve the accuracy of inverse image retrieval. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed CIS method achieves capacity increases of 26.73% and 38.34% over other CIS methods on the VOC and COCO datasets, respectively. Moreover, this method exhibits nearly 100% robustness against common active steganalysis. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

FORECASTING SHORT-TERM PASSENGER FLOW ON A BUS ROUTE: A SPLITTING–INTEGRATING METHOD BASED ON PASSENGER TRAVEL BEHAVIOR

Short-term passenger flow forecasting is the key to implement real-time dynamic dispatching of buses, which can meet the travel time requirement of passengers with different attributes. In practice, it is difficult to obtain passenger attribute information due to the restriction of bus information systems or other conditions. This article proposes a new perspective on identifying passenger attribute information, that is, the correlation between the bus card number and the travel time is used to analyse passenger travel behaviour. Then using the travel frequency as the splitting boundary, the passenger set is split into different types of subsets, which are predicted by different methods. The total forecast values are obtained by integration, so as to explore the effectiveness of the passenger attribute identification and splitting–integrating method. The result shows that: (1) compared with the forecasting method without considering the passenger travel behaviour, the performance of splitting–integrating method is better, and the passenger attribute identification method is effective;(2) the value of the splitting boundary will affect the size and consistency of the subset, and the optimal value can be sought according to forecast results;(3) different types of subsets should be treated by different forecasting models and combination paths. © 2025 The Author.

Retrieval-Augmented Fine-Tuning for Improving Retrieve-and-Edit Based Assertion Generation

Unit Testing is crucial in software development and maintenance, aiming to verify that the implemented functionality is consistent with the expected functionality. A unit test is composed of two parts: a test prefix, which drives the unit under test to a particular state, and a test assertion, which determines what the expected behavior is under that state. To reduce the effort of conducting unit tests manually, Yu et al. proposed an integrated approach (integration for short), combining information retrieval with a deep learning-based approach to generate assertions for test prefixes, and obtained promising results. In our previous work, we found that the overall performance of integration is mainly due to its success in retrieving assertions. Moreover, integration is limited to specific types of edit operations and struggles to understand the semantic differences between the retrieved focal-test (focal-test includes a test prefix and a unit under test) and the input focal-test. Based on these insights, we then proposed a retrieve-and-edit approach named EDITAS to learn the assertion edit patterns to improve the effectiveness of assertion generation in our prior study. Despite being promising, we find that the effectiveness of EDITAS can be further improved. Our analysis shows that: ① The editing ability of EDITAS still has ample room for improvement. Its performance degrades as the edit distance between the retrieval assertion and ground truth increases. Specifically, the average accuracy of EDITAS is 12.38% when the edit distance is greater than 5. ② EDITAS lacks a fine-grained semantic understanding of both the retrieved focal-test and the input focal-test themselves, which leads to many inaccurate token modifications. In particular, an average of 25.57% of the incorrectly generated assertions that need to be modified are not modified, and an average of 6.45% of the assertions that match the ground truth are still modified. Kolmogorov-Arnold Networks (KAN) is an emerging neural network architecture in machine learning. It has greatly interested the research community about whether KAN can be a promising alternative to the commonly used Multi-Layer Perceptions (MLP). Experiments in various fields demonstrated that KAN-based machine learning can achieve comparable if not better performance than MLP-based methods, but with much smaller parameter scales and are more explainable. In this paper, we explore the incorporation of KAN into the actor and critic networks for offline reinforcement learning (RL). We evaluated the performance, parameter scales, and training efficiency of various KAN and MLP-based conservative Q-learning (CQL) on the classical D4RL benchmark for offline RL. Our study demonstrates that KAN can achieve performance close to the commonly used MLP with significantly fewer parameters. This allows us to choose the base networks according to the offline RL task requirements. © 2025 IEEE.

Face Forgery Detection Based on Fine-Grained Clues and Noise Inconsistency

Deepfake detection has gained increasing research attention in media forensics, and a variety of works have been produced. However, subtle artifacts might be eliminated by compression, and the convolutional neural networks (CNNs)-based detectors are invalidated for fake face images with compression. In this work, we propose a two-stream network for deepfake detection. We observed that high-frequency noise features and spatial features are inherently complementary to each other. Thus, both spatial features and high-frequency noise features are exploited for face forgery detection. Specifically, we design a double-frequency transformer module (DFTM) to guide the learning of spatial features from local artifact regions. To effectively fuse spatial features and high-frequency noise features, a dual-domain attention fusion module (DDAFM) is designed. We also introduce a local relationship constraint loss, which requires only image-level labels, for model training. We evaluate the proposed approach on five large-scale benchmark datasets, and extensive experimental results demonstrate the proposed approach outperforms most SOTA works. © 2024 IEEE.

Fake Face Detection Based on Fusion of Spatial Texture and High-Frequency Noise

The rapid development of the Internet has led to the widespread dissemination of manipulated facial images, significantly impacting people's daily lives. With the continuous advancement of Deepfake technology, the generated counterfeit facial images have become increasingly challenging to distinguish. There is an urgent need for a more robust and convincing detection method. Current detection methods mainly operate in the spatial domain and transform the spatial domain into other domains for analysis. With the emergence of transformers, some researchers have also combined traditional convolutional networks with transformers for detection. This paper explores the artifacts left by Deepfakes in various domains and, based on this exploration, proposes a detection method that utilizes the steganalysis rich model to extract high-frequency noise to complement spatial features. We have designed two main modules to fully leverage the interaction between these two aspects based on traditional convolutional neural networks. The first is the multi-scale mixed feature attention module, which introduces artifacts from high-frequency noise into spatial textures, thereby enhancing the model's learning of spatial texture features. The second is the multi-scale channel attention module, which reduces the impact of background noise by weighting the features. Our proposed method was experimentally evaluated on mainstream datasets, and a significant amount of experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach in detecting Deepfake forged faces, outperforming the majority of existing methods.

TCMS: A Multi-Sequence Log Parsing Method Based on Token Conversion

Detailed system operations are recorded in logs. To ensure system reliability, developers can detect system anomalies through log anomaly detection. Log parsing, which converts semi-structured log messages into structured data, is a crucial step in log anomaly detection and advanced program analysis and verification. Despite the availability of various log parsing tools, they generally suffer from low parsing accuracy and slow efficiency due to the ignorance of variable characteristics and the use of costly pairwise comparison methods. In this paper, we propose a TCMS framework to parse logs, consisting of two main technologies. First, by studying 16 public log datasets, we find that most log variable tokens are structured variable tokens. Based on this discovery, we propose a token conversion algorithm to improve parsing accuracy. This algorithm converts the changed parts in structured variable tokens into wildcards (‘’), preventing these tokens from being directly identified as constant tokens. Second, to improve efficiency, we propose the LogMLCS algorithm, which intelligently constructs a graph to facilitate the extraction of common parts from multiple log messages at once, instead of using pairwise comparisons. Comprehensive experiments conducted on 16 log datasets reveal that our TCMS outperforms seven other parsing methods, achieving the highest parsing accuracy at the fastest speed. Furthermore, experimental results from running a log anomaly detection algorithm in conjunction with different log parsing methods demonstrate that TCMS significantly boosts detection accuracy. For instance, on the OpenStack dataset, our TCMS-facilitated log anomaly detection algorithm achieves a perfect F1-score, precision, and recall of 100% each, surpassing the best peer method by 32.2, 0.8, and 19.5 percentage points, respectively. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

AMSCF-Net: An adaptive multi-scale cost fusion stereo network for high-quality disparity estimation

Accurate and complete reconstruction of the high-quality three-dimensional (3D) geometric information from stereo images has been one of the challenging tasks in the fields of photogrammetry and computer vision. Although tremendous efforts have been made in stereo matching by utilizing convolutional neural network (CNN)-based deep learning architectures, the matching ambiguities in the case of occlusions, disparity discontinuities, and poor and repetitive texture areas remain to be explored. In this paper, to address these issues, we propose a novel end-to-end disparity estimation network named AMSCF-Net, which consists of two main components: the context and geometry adaptive attention weight generation (CGA-AWG) subnetwork for yielding robust multi-scale attention weights, and the adaptive multi-scale cost volume fusion (AMS-CVF) subnetwork to enhance the feature representation of the cost volumes for accurate disparity map prediction. Firstly, the multi-scale feature maps are obtained from the stereo images by employing a weight-sharing hierarchical feature extraction subnetwork. Secondly, the CGA-AWG subnetwork is adopted to produce accurate and robust multi-scale attention weights. Thirdly, the adaptive multi-scale cost volume fusion (AMS-CVF) subnetwork is introduced to boost the robustness of the fused cost volume in the poor and repetitive texture areas, while simultaneously preserving the details of the scene's geometric structure in the rich texture regions. Finally, the context and geometry adaptive disparity map prediction (CGA-DMP) subnetwork is applied to further refine the cost volumes for high-accuracy disparity map reconstruction. Three publicly available benchmark datasets, i.e., the KITTI 2015, US3D, and Vaihingen stereo datasets, were used to evaluate the performance of AMSCF-Net.
