The Cauchy loss function is robust to large outliers and has successful applications in signal processing. In this paper, a DOA estimation algorithm based on adaptive zero technology is proposed, which updates the weight of the filter by applying the Cauchy loss function, and further improves the algorithm performance by using the variable step size method. The algorithm step size is adjusted by accumulating errors and establishing a nonlinear function with instantaneous errors. The DOA estimation ability, estimation error and accuracy of the improved Cauchy algorithm in the impulse noise environment are analyzed. The algorithm is verified by simulation experiments.

Gene regulatory networks (GRNs) are crucial for understanding organismal molecular mechanisms and processes. Construction of GRN in the epithelioma papulosum cyprini (EPC) cells of cyprinid fish by spring viremia of carp virus (SVCV) infection helps understand the immune regulatory mechanisms that enhance the survival capabilities of cyprinid fish. Although many computational methods have been used to infer GRNs, specialized approaches for predicting the GRN of EPC cells following SVCV infection are lacking. In addition, most existing methods focus primarily on gene expression features, neglecting the valuable network structural information in known GRNs. In this study, we propose a novel supervised deep neural network, named MEFFGRN (Matrix Enhancement- and Feature Fusion-based method for Gene Regulatory Network inference), to accurately predict the GRN of EPC cells following SVCV infection. MEFFGRN considers both gene expression data and network structure information of known GRN and introduces a matrix enhancement method to address the sparsity issue of known GRN, extracting richer network structure information. To optimize the benefits of CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) in image processing, gene expression and enhanced GRN data were transformed into histogram images for each gene pair respectively. Subsequently, these histograms were separately fed into CNNs for training to obtain the corresponding gene expression and network structural features. Furthermore, a feature fusion mechanism was introduced to comprehensively integrate the gene expression and network structural features. This integration considers the specificity of each feature and their interactive information, resulting in a more comprehensive and precise feature representation during the fusion process. Experimental results from both real-world and benchmark datasets demonstrate that MEFFGRN achieves competitive performance compared with state-of-the-art computational methods. Furthermore, study

The paper presents a novel circular polarization(CP) antenna loading with a parasitic ring metal strip, which is designed for global positioning system (GPS) L1 band applications. The antenna consists of a defected ground plane with four arc-slots and a circular slot, a dielectric substrate, a parasitic ring metal strip, and a radiating patch (RP) with a arc-slot. By rotating the parasitic ring metal strip to opening slot on the RP, the antenna can be transformed from left-handed circular polarization (LHCP) to right-handed circular polarization (RHCP). The size of the antenna can be reduced by using slots on the ground. The simulation and optimization results show that impedance bandwidth of the L/RHCP antenna is over 100 MHz, and the axial ratio bandwidth is over 20 MHz.

A control circuit for active metasurface based on varactor diode is designed in this paper. By varying the reverse bias voltage on the varactor diode, the designed circuit can regulate the additional phase of the active meta-atoms. The circuit adopts a form of one master and multiple slaves, which can simultaneously control the bias voltage of 960 meta-atoms. Each slave can control up to 64 channels. The control accuracy is 0.04V. The power consumption of a single slave is 160mW. Though experiment verification, the circuit has a good effect in controlling the beam deflection of the metasurface and generating OAM beams.

We present the excellent student training scheme in shielding effectiveness analysis with international cooperation of Belarus. As we know, the shielding is vital for modern information devices due to the radiating around us. Herein, the shielding effectiveness is important for training excellent students to master the design of the frequency selective components. In this method, we teach the students to use the EM simulation tools to construct different EM structures for obtaining the shielding, and the performance of these structures are verified from the simulations and measurements. Using this shielding effectiveness training scheme, a frequency selective surface is presented, simulated and discussed to analyze its performance. In future, the excellent student training methods given herein for shielding effectiveness can be expanded to develop other EM structures. © 2022 IEEE.

An essential challenge in graph data analysis and mining is to simply and effectively deal with large-scale network data that is expanding dynamically. Although batch-based parallel graph computation frameworks have better accuracy, they cannot process incremental data on time and need to be recomputed. To process real-time data, stream processing applications need to be redeveloped, which increases the redundancy of work, and some existing dynamic graph computation schemes are not generalizable. This paper proposes a unified stream and batch graph computing model(USBGM). The model is compatible with both stream and batch graph computing. Graph operators and algorithms developed based on the model can handle stream and batch graph data in a unified manner. The experiments on real-world and artificial networks verified the effectiveness and efficiency of the model. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In this paper, we design an algorithm to address the challenges of expensive multi-objective optimization problems by improving the surrogate model and sampling criterion. Firstly, we introduce a combined model which aims to enhance the impact of points that do not play a negative role, thus improving prediction accuracy. Subsequently, we develop two complementary indicators to accommodate various shapes of Pareto frontiers to better balance convergence and diversity in the sampling criterion. Experimental results on several benchmarks show that our proposed method is highly competitive in solving expensive multi-objective optimization problems compared to other state-of-the-art algorithms. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.

In recent years, there has been significant research focusing on addressing security concerns in single-modal person re-identification (ReID) systems that are based on RGB images. However, the safety of cross-modality scenarios, which are more commonly encountered in practical applications involving images captured by infrared cameras, has not received adequate attention. The main challenge in cross-modality ReID lies in effectively dealing with visual differences between different modalities. For instance, infrared images are typically grayscale, unlike visible images that contain color information. Existing attack methods have primarily focused on the characteristics of the visible image modality, overlooking the features of other modalities and the variations in data distribution among different modalities. This oversight can potentially undermine the effectiveness of these methods in image retrieval across diverse modalities. This study represents the first exploration into the security of cross-modality ReID models and proposes a universal perturbation attack specifically designed for cross-modality ReID. This attack optimizes perturbations by leveraging gradients from diverse modality data, thereby disrupting the discriminator and reinforcing the differences between modalities. We conducted experiments on three widely used cross-modality datasets, namely RegDB, SYSU, and LLCM. The results not only demonstrate the effectiveness of our method but also provide insights for future improvements in the robustness of cross-modality ReID systems. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation. The data of applications in connected and autonomous vehicles are important, which is usually collected by service providers to improve their services, such as object detection model. But, wireless communication is susceptible to various kinds of attacks. Thus, the data of the application module needs to be securely shared to the corresponding service provider. However, current schemes are with limited performance while a service provider collects multiple application data at the same time. By adopting signcryption and chaotic map, an efficient authentication and key agreement scheme is proposed, while batch authentication is achieved for efficient message authentication of multiple applications, and the efficient revocation is realized based on Chinese remainder theorem under the assistance of trusted execution environment supported vehicle computing/communication unit. The formal security proof shows that the scheme is secure under the random oracle model, and the experiment results shows that the scheme is more efficient than related schemes and can meet the requirements of CAV. © ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering 2024.
