In this paper, several conjectures proposed in [2] are studied, involving the equivalence and duality of polycyclic codes associated with trinomials. According to the results, we give methods to construct isodual and self-dual polycyclic codes, and study the self-orthogonal and dual-containing polycyclic codes over F2MSC Codes 94B05, 05E30 © 2022, CC0.

Cognitive diagnosis plays a vital role in modern intelligent education platforms to reveal students’ proficiency in knowledge concepts for subsequent adaptive tasks. However, due to the requirement of high model interpretability, existing manually designed cognitive diagnosis models hold too simple architectures to meet the demand of current intelligent education systems, where the bias of human design also limits the emergence of effective cognitive diagnosis models. In this paper, we propose to automatically design novel cognitive diagnosis models by evolutionary multiobjective neural architecture search (NAS). Specifically, we observe existing models can be represented by a general model handling three given types of inputs and thus first design an expressive search space for the NAS task in cognitive diagnosis. Then, we propose multi-objective genetic programming (MOGP) to explore the NAS task’s search space by maximizing model performance and interpretability. In the MOGP design, each architecture is transformed into a tree architecture and encoded by a tree for easy optimization, and a tailored genetic operation based on four sub-genetic operations is devised to generate offspring effectively. Besides, an initialization strategy is also suggested to accelerate the convergence by evolving half of the population from existing models’ variants. Experiments on two real-world datasets demonstrate that the cognitive diagnosis models searched by the proposed approach exhibit significantly better performance than existing models and also hold as good interpretability as human-designed models. This paper explores the feasibility and effect of using ECG signals in response to virtual reality(VR) emotional stimuli for personality recognition. Personality represents an individual''s behavior pattern, so it has extensive research significance to identify personality. In the field of personality recognition, there have been researches on the use of physiological signals to recognize personality recently, but there have been no studies on personality recognition in VR scenarios. VR technology has been applied in many fields, and in the field of emotion recognition, the advantage of VR video as emotional arousal material has been proved. We designed the emotional stimulation experiment in VR scene to collect ECG signals, and constructed the personality recognition model. The results showed that the F1 scores of neuroticism, extraversion, openness, agreeableness and conscientiousness using only ECG were 0.79, 0.80, 0.81, 0.73 and 0.81, respectively, which were much higher than the random level. And we found that in VR scenes, negative emotional stimulation can achieve better personality recognition effect. Our results confirm the feasibility of personality recognition using ECG signals in response to VR emotional stimuli. © 2023 ACM.

In addressing the issue of localizing near-field source signals in the presence of impulse noise, this manuscript introduces a novel de-impact function designed for preprocessing received signals to alleviate the interference caused by impulse noise. Simulation experiments verify the effectiveness of the proposed de-impact function in effectively suppressing impulse noise. Furthermore, to augment estimation precision, a novel algorithm for near-field source localization is proposed. Building upon the framework of correlation entropy theory, a new correntropy covariance matrix is formulated to replace the original signal covariance matrix for signal processing. Through a succession of low-bias approximations between near-field and far-field scenarios, the algorithm converts the original 2-D search into 1-D operations. Additionally, the conventional spectral peak search is replaced by polynomial solving to further mitigate the computational complexity of the algorithm.

Transfer learning aims to leverage the knowledge of the source domain to help the learning of unlabeled target domain models. However, all conventional transfer learning methods assume that samples from source and target domains are always freely accessible. However, this assumption is rarely plausible in real-world due to data privacy. To combat this challenge, we introduce Structure-constrain Source Free Domain Adaptation with regularized Knowledge Distillation of source model (SSFDA-KD). Our method is based on the observations that a deterministic classification result can be obtained when the target data distribution aligns with the source data distribution, and a well-trained model not only yields a deterministic classification for a sample but also has clear category boundaries, which implies samples that are close together belong to the same category. From those, we first generate the source model with labeled source data, which is regarded as a well-trained model. Then, we identify target prototypes with lower self-entropy and assign the pseudo-labels to other samples according to the neighborhood structure. Finally, we refine the target model by minimizing prediction loss, constraining internal structure via triplet loss, and reducing knowledge distillation loss. Experiments of fault diagnosis based on WWTPs are conducted to validate its effectiveness.

Zhaotong City is located in the northeast of Yunnan Province and used to be called “Zhuti County”. Due to the influence of population migration, the Zhaotong dialect has the characteristics of the northern dialect as well as its own unique features. Early research on the tones of Zhaotong dialect relied on traditional language survey methods. In this paper, we use modern methods of speech signal analysis to reanalyze the tones of Zhaotong dialect by means of spectral analysis of sound waveforms, resonance peak analysis, fundamental frequency extraction, etc. combined with the knowledge of experimental phonetics. It is concluded that the Zhaotong dialect consists of four tone categories, namely, Tone1, Tone2, Tone3, and Tone4. Among the single character tones, Tonel is characterized by a flat tonal pattern; Tone2 is characterized by a descending tonal pattern; Tone3 is characterized by a descending tonal pattern; and Tone4 is characterized by a zigzag tonal pattern.

The articulation of long and short vowels is not only a change in duration, but also includes changes in the shape of the oral cavity to comprehensively affect the timbre. Since the low-resource phonetic data is very limited, especially the pronunciation of long and short vowels will be affected by the surrounding phonemes or syllables, which makes it difficult for the speech synthesis model to adequately learn and capture the differences of vowels, thus affecting the accuracy and naturalness of the synthesis of long and short vowels. The eastern Yugur language in China belongs to the Mongolian group of the Altaic language family, with an endangered language and limited phonetic resource data. If this endangered language is extinct, it can be restored through speech synthesis. In this article, we analyze the acoustics of long and short vowels in the Eastern Yugur language, and find out the differences in the distribution of acoustic parameters, as well as the differences in the parameters of males and females, so as to provide a reference for the synthesis of the Eastern Yugur language.

Alignment-free RGB-Thermal (RGB-T) salient object detection (SOD) aims to achieve robust performance in complex scenes by directly leveraging the complementary information from unaligned visible-thermal image pairs, without requiring manual alignment. However, the labor-intensive process of collecting and annotating image pairs limits the scale of existing benchmarks, hindering the advancement of alignment-free RGB-T SOD. In this paper, we construct a large-scale and high-diversity unaligned RGB-T SOD dataset named UVT20K, comprising 20,000 image pairs, 407 scenes, and 1256 object categories. All samples are collected from real-world scenarios with various challenges, such as low illumination, image clutter, complex salient objects, and so on. To support the exploration for further research, each sample in UVT20K is annotated with a comprehensive set of ground truths, including saliency masks, scribbles, boundaries, and challenge attributes. In addition, we propose a Progressive Correlation Network (PCNet), which models inter- and intra-modal correlations on the basis of explicit alignment to achieve accurate predictions in unaligned image pairs. Extensive experiments conducted on two unaligned three weakly aligned three aligned datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our method.
