The PUMA project fosters the Open Access movement und aims at a better support of the researcher's publication work. PUMA stands for an integrated solution, where the upload of a publication results automatically in an update of both the personal and institutional homepage, the creation of an entry in a social bookmarking systems like BibSonomy, an entry in the academic reporting system of the university, and its publication in the institutional repository. VID Join： Mapping Trajectories to Points of Interest to Support Location-Based Services

Variable influence duration （VID） join is a novel spatio-temporal join operation between a set T of trajectories and a set P of spatial points. Here, trajectories are traveling histories of moving objects （e.g., travelers）, and spatial points are points of interest （POIs, e.g., restaurants）. VID join returns all pairs of （τs, p） if τs is spatially close to p for a long period of time, where τs is a segment of trajectory τ ∈ T and p ∈ P. Each returned （τs, p） implies that the moving object associated with τs stayed at p （e.g., having dinner at a restaurant）. Such information is useful in many aspects, such as targeted advertising, social security, and social activity analysis. The concepts of influence and influence duration are introduced to measure the spatial closeness between τ and p, and the time spanned, respectively. Compared to the conventional spatio-temporal join, the VID join is more challenging since the join condition varies for different POIs, and the additional temporal requirement cannot be indexed effectively. To process the VID join e？ciently, three algorithms are developed and several optimization techniques are applied, including spatial duplication reuse and time duration based pruning. The performance of the developed algorithms is verified by extensive experiments on real spatial data.

Steganography is an art to hide information in the carriers to prevent from being detected, while steganalysis is the opposite art to detect the presence of the hidden information. With the development of deep learning, several state-of-the-art steganography and steganalysis based on deep learning techniques have been proposed to improve hiding or detection capabilities. Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) based steganography directly uses the minimax game between the generator and discriminator, to automatically generate steganography algorithms resisting being detected by powerful steganalysis. The steganography without embedding (SWE) based on GANs, where the generated cover images themselves are stego ones carrying secret information has shown its state-of-the-art steganography performance. However, SWE based on GANs has serious weaknesses, such as low information recovery accuracy, low steganography capacity and poor natural showing. To solve these problems, this paper proposes a new SWE based on adversarial training, with carefully designed generator, discriminator and extractor, as well as their loss functions and optimized training mode. The proposed method can achieve a very high information recovery accuracy (100% in some cases), and at the same time improve the steganography capacity and image quality. © 2020 ACM.

In this paper, a rapid resynchronization method using intent logs is suggested for replication In-memory databases supporting mobile communication applications. Both the identifiers of unsynchronized segments and the identifiers of the slaves who have missed the updates in the segments are recorded in the intent logs. When receiving a resynchronization request from a slave, the master will scan the intent logs to find the unsynchronized segments for the salve, and then send the segments gotten directly from its memory to the slave. The performance results shown the intent logs method can reduce resynchronization time than methods using transaction logs. © 2008 IEEE.

With more and more governmental business going digital and collaborative to the best of whole government value and public value, electronic records security management (ERSM) faces great challenges. There is a growing understanding that standardization is the key to the successful ERSM, when governmental business requires cross-boundary collaboration. However, previous studies of collaborative innovation community capacity building (CICCB) on ERSM are mainly from the perspective of archival study to the best of long term preservation of electronic archives,with little concerns about needs of different interested parties. Few studies have been taken from interdisciplinary perspective and integrated use of international standards of business continuity management, records management, knowledge management and information security management to the best value of knowledge sharing and continuity of business, records, knowledge and security service. Based on prior findings and the integrated use of ISO management systems standards (ISO/IEC 27001, 2013;ISO 15489-1, 2016;ISO 30401, 2018;ISO 22301, 2019;ISO 30301, 2019), this study analyses the motivation mechanisms of CICCB for ERSM, then develops an extended conceptual framework for CICCB, including cognitive collaboration which means shared knowledge and values on ERSM for all types of interested parties that enable continual improvement;interested parties collaboration which means human interactions on shared rules for community practice on ERSM that enable improved transparency and accountability;process collaboration which means shared standards, guidelines and models for whole process control that enable electronic records controllable with characteristics of authenticity, reliability, integrity, usability, confidentiality and availability;technical collaboration which means shared solutions that enable electronic records systems reliable, secure, compliant, comprehensive, systematic. Various algorithms of traditional visual Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) can well match with static scenes, but mismatches will occur in dynamic scenes, which makes the positioning and mapping of the SLAM system produce large errors. Therefore, this paper proposed a visual odometry algorithm based on semantic feature points, which can improve the positioning accuracy in dynamic scenes. The algorithm combined semantic information to detect dynamic objects, and then detects and eliminates dynamic feature points. This paper conducted an extensive evaluation of the system and compared it with ORB-SLAM3 and other dynamic scene SLAM systems. The experimental results show that this method greatly improves the positioning accuracy of the camera and the robustness of the system in a highly complex dynamic environment, which verifies the advancement and effectiveness of the algorithm in this paper. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Current state-of-the-art image captioning models generate captions in a single language, requiring a combination of multiple language specific models to build a multilingual image captioning system. However, as the number of supported languages increases, it leads to the parameters of the multilingual image captioning system grow linearly. To tackle this issue, we propose a single Compact Interactive TransformEr (CITE) model, which can describe an image in multiple languages simultaneously, making the captioning system more compact. Specifically, based on the standard Transformer model, we share the encoder and decoder backbone parameters and replace the self-attention sub-layer in the decoder with the interactive attention sub-layer. In addition, we extend the traditional monolingual reinforcement learning mechanism to a multilingual version to promote better description generation. Due to the wide use of Chinese and English, we evaluate the performance of our CITE model by simultaneously generating English and Chinese captions. We expand the image captions of the whole MSCOCO dataset and release a COCO-EN-CN dataset. Extensive experiments on the COCO-EN-CN dataset show that our single CITE model with more parameter-efficient can maintain the competitive performance or even better than the monolingual captioning models. © 2023 ACM.

The second-order h-type indicators are suggested to identify top units in scientometrics. Basically, the re-ranking of h-type series leads to the second-order h-type indicator. The second-order h-type indicators provide an interesting and natural method to identify top units, yielding fixed h-top. Differentiating from the series of artificially defined highly cited percentile classes, the h-top contributes a natural definite top in the series of highly cited classes. When studying theoretically, the second-order h-index concerns 3% of the h-top whereas the first-order h-index refers to 10% of the h-core. Learning models used for prediction are mostly developed without taking into account the size of datasets that can produce models of high accuracy and better performance. Although, the general believe is that, large dataset is needed to construct a predictive learning model. To describe a data set as large in size depends on the circumstances and context of prediction. This means that what makes a dataset to be considered as being big or small is controversial. In this paper, the ability of the predictive model to adapt to a particular size of data in training is examined. The study experiments on three different sizes of Moroccan agricultural data using a variety of statistical and Machine Learning techniques, to create predictive models with a view to establishing if the size of data has any effect on the accuracy of a model. The output of each model is measured using the Mean Absolute Error (MAE) and r-squared, and comparisons are made. The results of training the models through the three partitioned dataset show that, the models trained with the smallest and largest size of training data appear to be less accurate, while the models trained with a medium sized dataset delivers a much better results. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The integration of database and information retrieval techniques provides users with a wide range of high quality services. We present a prototype system, called NUITS, for efficiently processing keyword queries on top of a relational database. Our NUITS allows users to issue simple keyword queries as well as advanced keyword queries with conditions.
