The optimum delivery of safeguarding substances is a major part of supply chain management and a crucial issue in the mitigation against the outbreak of pandemics.A problem arises for a decision maker who wants to optimally choose a subset of candidate consumers to maximize the distributed quantities of the needed safeguarding substances within a specic time period.A nonlinear binary mathematical programming model for the problem is *** decision variables are binary ones that represent whether to choose a specic consumer,and design constraints are formulated to keep track of the chosen *** better illustrate the problem,objective,and problem constraints,a real application case study is *** case study involves the optimum delivery of safeguarding substances to several hospitals in the Al-Gharbia Governorate in *** hospitals are selected to represent the consumers of safeguarding substances,as they are the rst crucial frontline for mitigation against a pandemic outbreak.A distribution truck is used to distribute the substances from the main store to the hospitals in specied required quantities during a given working *** objective function is formulated in order to maximize the total amount of delivered quantities during the specied time *** case study is solved using a novel Discrete Binary Gaining Sharing knowledge-based Optimization algorithm(DBGSK),which involves two main stages:discrete binary junior and senior gaining and sharing *** has the ability of nding the solutions of the introduced problem,and the obtained results demonstrate robustness and convergence toward the optimal solutions.

Over the last decades Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) are increasingly being used in sports, especially in football, aiming to improve the athletes training and results. However, training systems for young athletes do not have, for the most part, learning abilities in order to adapt, evolve and find new training recommendations, designed specifically for each young athlete. In this paper introduce the Smart Coach user adaptation model, and whose main goal is to present our hybrid recommendation system to help young athletes evolve. This facilitate the interaction between members of a club technical staff and their young athletes, reinforcing the young person counselling, and their potential as an athlete. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2020.

The use of modeling and simulation as a decision aid tool has been widely recognized in the field of production engineering. In this work, modeling and simulation is used to examine, analyze, and recommend improvements for the performance of an existing assembly line within a manufacturing facility. Several key performance indicators (KPIs) are determined to evaluate the performance of the assembly line under study. With the aid of Maynard Operation Sequence Technique (MOST) and Line Balancing methods, two improved systems are recommended to enhance the performance of the line under study. Simulation of the two recommended systems show an enhanced performance of the assembly line.

Short-term climate reconstruction,i.e.,the reproduction of short-term(several decades)historical climatic time series based on the relationship between observed data and available longer-term reference data in a certain area,can extend the length of climatic time series and offset the shortage of *** can be used to assess regional climate change over a much longer time *** on monthly grid climate data from a Coupled Model Inter-comparison Project phase 5(CMIP5)dataset for the period of 1850–2000,the Climatic research Unit(CRU)dataset for the period of 1901–2000 and the observed data from 53 meteorological stations located in the Tianshan Mountains region(TMR)of China during the period of 1961–2011,we calibrated and validated monthly average temperature(MAT)and monthly accumulated precipitation(MAP)in the TMR using the delta,physical scaling(SP)and artificial neural network(ANN)*** and uncertainty during the calibration(1971–1999)and verification(1961–1970)periods were assessed and compared using traditional performance indices and a revised set pair analysis(RSPA)*** calibration and verification processes were subjected to various sources of uncertainty due to the influence of different reconstructed variables,different data sources,and/or different methods *** to traditional performance indices,both the CRU and CMIP5 datasets resulted in satisfactory calibrated and verified MAT time series at 53 meteorological stations and MAP time series at 20 meteorological stations using the delta and SP methods for the period of 1961–***,the results differed from those obtained by the RSPA *** showed that the CRU dataset produced a low degree of uncertainty(positive connection degree)during the calibration and verification of MAT using the delta and SP methods compared to the CMIP5 ***,the calibrated and verified MAP had a high degree of uncertainty(negative connection degree)regardless of the

The vehicle routing problem (VRP) is one of the important problems that has been examined extensively over the past decades. The problem holds a central position within the fields of transportation logistics and supply chain management. Due to the NP-hard nature of the problem, many researchers have developed several heuristics and metaheuristics to solve the problem. This research proposes a hybrid bat algorithm to solve the VRP. The algorithm employs the Bat algorithm hybridized with a modified kmeans algorithm. The proposed solution technique adopts the methodology of cluster first route second to decompose the original VRP into traveling sales man problems (TSPs) with reduced complexity. Benchmark test instances from the literature are used to prove the efficiency of the proposed hybrid algorithm. © 2019 IEEE.

Logistics 4.0 is very important to the current business world. It is expected to revolutionize a lot of business aspects. However, there is no clear definition for Logistics 4.0 till now. Due to its important impact on businesses nowadays, this work aims at reaching a definition for Logistics 4.0. The process of defining Logistics 4.0 is performed through reviewing the historical background between industry and logistics, in addition to identifying different trends of logistics. Through a systematic literature review, historical background on the relationship between previous industrial revolutions and their associated Logistics changes, this work proposes a novel concept, and hence, a definition to the current logistics and supply chain world, in light of Industry 4.0. © 2019 IEEE.

We forecast a future in which the global economy and the Internet will host a large number of interacting software agents. Most of them will be economically motivated, and will negotiate a variety of goods and services. It is therefore important to consider the economic incentives and behaviours of economic software agents, and to use all available means to anticipate their collective interactions. This paper addresses this concern by presenting a multi-agent market simulator designed for analysing agent market strategies based on a complete understanding of buyer and seller behaviours, preference models and pricing algorithms. The results of the negotiations between agents will be analysed by data mining tools in order to extract rules that will give the agents feedback to improve their strategies.

This paper presents a simulation model for local markets with the perspective of a licensed municipal entity describing the guidelines for agent interaction. The licensed municipal entity is a strategic agent for the operation of a local energy market along the lines of the proposed business model. MASCEM tool is the basis for the analysis. The work to improve MASCEM proposes an architecture for the study of local energy markets that face the participating agents as the cyber-physical systems beyond them, considering the need of secure interactions and trusted negotiations. Two scenarios case - study are carried out to highlight different approaches from the licensed municipal entity. The first approach describes a liberalized position of the entity so that agents in the local market can interact more objectively with the wholesale market. In the second approach, the interaction with the wholesale energy market is restricted to the licensed municipal entity.

This paper presents an optimization-based home energy management system, by taking advantages of renewable resources and energy storage system for optimally managing the energy consumption and generation of the house. The surplus of renewable generation will be stored in energy storage system or will be injected into the main grid. An optimization algorithm is developed for this system in order to minimize the electricity bill of the house considering electricity tariffs. Four home appliances are considered to be controlled by this system for reducing the consumption in critical periods. The outcomes of optimization problem are the optimal scheduling of the resources including renewable generation, energy storage system, consumption reduction, and power transactions with the grid. In the case study, the developed model will be employed in three different scenarios, which considers simple electricity prices and time-of- use tariffs in order to test and validate the performance of the developed model.

This paper at first presents an aggregation model including optimization tools for optimal resource scheduling and aggregating, and then, it proposes a real implemented SCADA system in an office building for decision support techniques and participating in demand response events. The aggregator model controls and manages the consumption and generation of customers by establishing contract with them. The SCADA based office building presented in this paper is considered as a customer of proposed aggregation model. In the case study, a distribution network with 21 buses, including 20 consumers and 26 distributed generations, is proposed for the aggregator network, and optimal resource scheduling of aggregator, and performance of implemented SCADA system for the office building, will be surveyed. The scientific contribution of this paper is to address from an optimization-based aggregator model to a SCADA based customer.
