One Digital Health (ODH) merges the Digital Health and One Health approaches to create a comprehensive framework for future health ecosystems. In this rapidly evolving field, a standardized vocabulary is not just a convenience, but a necessity to ensure efficient communication. It is known that a (concept) lattice contains an n-dimensional Boolean suborder if and only if the context contains an n-dimensional contra-nominal scale as subcontext. In this work, we investigate more closely the interplay between the Boolean subcontexts of a given finite context and the Boolean suborders of its concept lattice. To this end, we define mappings from the set of subcontexts of a context to the set of suborders of its concept lattice and vice versa and study their structural properties. In addition, we introduce closed-subcontexts as an extension of closed relations to investigate the set of all sublattices of a given lattice. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

RESDSQL: Decoupling Schema Linking and Skeleton Parsing for Text-to-SQL

One of the recent best attempts at Text-to-SQL is the pre-trained language model. Due to the structural property of the SQL queries, the seq2seq model takes the responsibility of parsing both the schema items (i.e., tables and columns) and the skeleton (i.e., SQL keywords). Such coupled targets increase the difficulty of parsing the correct SQL queries especially when they involve many schema items and logic operators. This paper proposes a ranking-enhanced encoding and skeleton-aware decoding framework to decouple the schema linking and the skeleton parsing. Specifically, for a seq2seq encoder-decode model, its encoder is injected by the most relevant schema items instead of the whole unordered ones, which could alleviate the schema linking effort during SQL parsing, and its decoder first generates the skeleton and then the actual SQL query, which could implicitly constrain the SQL parsing. We evaluate our proposed framework on Spider and its three robustness variants: Spider-DK, Spider-Syn, and Spider-Realistic. Order diagrams allow human analysts to understand and analyze structural properties of ordered data. While an expert can create easily readable order diagrams, the automatic generation of those remains a hard task. In this work, we adapt force-directed approaches, which are known to generate aesthetically-pleasing drawings of graphs, to the realm of order diagrams. Our algorithm ReDraw thereby embeds the order in a high dimension and then iteratively reduces the dimension until a two-dimensional drawing is achieved. To improve aesthetics, this reduction is equipped with two force-directed steps where one step optimizes the distances of nodes and the other one the distances of lines in order to satisfy a set of a priori fixed conditions. By respecting an invariant about the vertical position of the elements in each step of our algorithm we ensure that the resulting drawings satisfy all necessary properties of order diagrams. Finally, we present the results of a user study to demonstrate that our algorithm outperforms comparable approaches on drawings of lattices with a high degree of distributivity. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Metrics have emerged as an important tool for quantitatively evaluating researchers from a variety of perspectives,including research impact,research quality,interdisciplinarity,and *** in the field of library and information science,many previous studies have highlighted the characteristics of researchers in this ***,only a minority of the studies address the aspect of diversity in research *** purpose of this study is to(1)evaluate the topic diversity of researchers in library and information science and(2)examine the relationships between the researcher topic diversity and research *** propose an indicator to quantify author topic diversity,which we refer to as author topic diversity(ATD).Latent Dirichlet Allocation(LDA)is used to detect topics in the field,while cosine similarity is used to calculate the diversity of research topics in a given researcher’s *** results show that topic diversity in the field of library and information science varies greatly from author to *** addition,weak positive correlations are found between the ATD and citation indicators,suggesting that engaging in diversified topics may lead to higher research impact.

Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) provides a method called attribute exploration which helps a domain expert discover structural dependencies in knowledge domains that can be represented by a formal context (a cross table of objects and attributes). Triadic Concept Analysis is an extension of FCA that incorporates the notion of conditions. Many extensions and variants of attribute exploration have been studied but only few attempts at incorporating multiple experts have been made. In this paper we present triadic exploration based on Triadic Concept Analysis to explore conditional attribute implications in a triadic domain. We then adapt this approach to formulate attribute exploration with multiple experts that have different views on a domain. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Towards explainable scientific venue recommendations

Selecting the best scientific venue (i.e., conference/journal) for the submission of a research article constitutes a multifaceted challenge. Important aspects to consider are the suitability of research topics, a venue's prestige, and the probability of acceptance. The selection problem is exacerbated through the continuous emergence of additional venues. Previously proposed approaches for supporting authors in this process rely on complex recommender systems, e.g., based on Word2Vec or TextCNN. These, however, often elude an explanation for their recommendations. In this work, we propose an unsophisticated method that advances the state-of-the-art in two aspects: First, we enhance the interpretability of recommendations through non-negative matrix factorization based topic models;Second, we surprisingly can obtain competitive recommendation performance while using simpler learning methods. Dual-view gaze target estimation in classroom environments has not been thoroughly explored. Existing methods lack consideration of depth information, primarily focusing on 2D image information and neglecting the latent 3D spatial context, which could lead to suboptimal transformation and cause the gaze cone to intersect with an incorrect object. This paper introduces a novel dual-view gaze target estimation method tailored for classroom settings, leveraging depth-enhanced spatial transformations. By formulating a depth-enhanced 2D space, our method uses depth-enhanced spatial transformation to accurately project students' gaze cones to the teacher-oriented image. Additionally, we collected a dataset named DVSGE, specifically for student gaze target estimation in dual-view classroom images. Experimental results demonstrate significant performance improvements of 9.8% in AUC and 19.9% in L2-Distance for our method, surpassing existing methods. © 2025 IEEE.

AME4163: Principles of engineering Design is a design, build and test course offered at the University of Oklahoma, Norman, USA. Throughout the semester students are expected to reflect on authentic and immersive experiences and write Take-aways and Learning Statements. At the end of the semester each student submits a summative Semester Learning Essay. Between 2019-2021 we collected about 10,000 Take-aways and Learning Statements from the Semester Learning Essays of nearly 400 students. In this paper, we attempt to help instructors gain insight of what students have learned through these materials and thence improve the delivery of the course in the future. We analyze their Take-aways from summative Semester Learning Essays by using dictionary-based sentiment analysis to assess students' subjective feelings toward what they have learned. The results prove that we gain insight into their learning thereby providing instructors with evidence-based guidance on modifying the course from different perspectives. The method proposed is generalizable to courses that involve authentic immersive experiences. © 2023 IEEE.

Conceptual Scaling is a useful standard tool in Formal Concept Analysis and beyond. Its mathematical theory, as elaborated in the last chapter of the FCA monograph, still has room for improvement. As it stands, even some of the basic definitions are in flux. Our contribution was triggered by the study of concept lattices for tree classifiers and the scaling methods used there. We extend some basic notions, give precise mathematical definitions for them and introduce the concept of scaling dimension. In addition to a detailed discussion of its properties, including an example, we show theoretical bounds related to the order dimension of concept lattices.
