Nowadays, micro-video sharing platforms have become popular tools for people creating and viewing micro-videos in daily life. Micro-video recommendation task has attracted significant attention from researchers, recently. The key to a high-quality micro-video recommendation system is learning meaningful user and micro-video representations. Recently, many graph neural networks (GNNs) are proposed to learn node representations in graphs, which could be useful for recommendation tasks. However, we argue that directly utilizing existing GNNs in micro-video recommendations is ill-posed. The reasons are: (1) most previous GNNs fail to capture the heterogeneity of heterogeneous graphs since they are designed for homogeneous graphs;(2) they overemphasize node proximity and could hurt the robustness of node embeddings. In contrast to previous work, we propose a meta-path-based graph contrastive learning network (MPGCL) that learns more meaningful user and video embeddings for recommendation. Specifically, we yield homogeneous graphs for user type and video type to better capture heterogeneity based on a well-designed meta-path-based random walk strategy. Furthermore, to learn more robust node embeddings that are less sensitive to noise, we propose a graph contrastive learning network on different types of homogeneous graphs, which maximizes the consistency between graph representations with different views. We do extensive experiments on three real-world datasets and the results show that our model can learn more meaningful embeddings for user and micro-videos and outperforms the strong baselines. © 2022, The Authors. Few-shot Open Relation Extraction with Gaussian Prototype and Adaptive Margin

Few-shot relation extraction with none-of-the-above (FsRE with NOTA) aims at predicting labels in few-shot scenarios with unknown classes. FsRE with NOTA is more challenging than the conventional few-shot relation extraction task, since the boundaries of unknown classes are complex and difficult to learn. Meta-learning based methods, especially prototype-based methods, are the mainstream solutions to this task. They obtain the classification boundary by learning the sample distribution of each class. However, their performance is limited because few-shot overfitting and NOTA boundary confusion lead to misclassification between known and unknown classes. To this end, we propose a novel framework based on Gaussian prototype and adaptive margin named GPAM for FsRE with NOTA, which includes three modules, semi-factual representation, GMM-prototype metric learning and decision boundary learning. The first two modules obtain better representations to solve the few-shot problem through debiased information enhancement and Gaussian space distance measurement. The third module learns more accurate classification boundaries and prototypes through adaptive margin and negative sampling. In the training procedure of GPAM, we use contrastive learning loss to comprehensively consider the effects of range and margin on the classification of known and unknown classes to ensure the model's stability and robustness. Sufficient experiments and ablations on the FewRel dataset show that GPAM surpasses previous prototype methods and achieves state-of-the-art performance. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have gained considerable attention as a platform for establishing aerial wireless networks and communications. However, the line-of-sight dominance in air-to-ground communications often leads to significant interference with terrestrial networks, reducing communication efficiency among terrestrial terminals. This paper explores a novel uplink interference mitigation approach based on the collaborative beamforming (CB) method in multi-UAV network systems. Specifically, the UAV swarm forms a UAV-enabled virtual antenna array (VAA) to achieve the transmissions of gathered data to multiple base stations (BSs) for data backup and distributed processing. However, there is a trade-off between the effectiveness of CB-based interference mitigation and the energy conservation of UAVs. Thus, by jointly optimizing the excitation current weights and hover position of UAVs as well as the sequence of data transmission to various BSs, we formulate an uplink interference mitigation multi-objective optimization problem (MOOP) to decrease interference affection, enhance transmission efficiency, and improve energy efficiency, simultaneously. In response to the computational demands of the formulated problem, we introduce an evolutionary computation method, namely chaotic non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm II (CNSGA-II) with multiple improved operators. The proposed CNSGA-II efficiently addresses the formulated MOOP, outperforming several other comparative algorithms, as evidenced by the outcomes of the simulations. Moreover, the proposed CB-based uplink interference mitigation approach can significantly reduce the interference caused by UAVs to non-receiving BSs. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. Beam tracking is crucial for maintaining stable data transmission in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) communications. However, a communication link can be disrupted by frequent switching of narrow beams between a base station and a UAV at certain moments. In this study, we propose a position prediction-based beam tracking algorithm with adaptive beam reconstruction (PPBT-AR) for high-speed UAV. Specifically, long short-term memory (LSTM) recurrent neural networks are utilized to predict the nonlinear flight trajectory during high-speed flight. Moreover, we employ the generative diffusion model (GDM) to jointly optimize the beam width and signal strength, thereby reducing the number of beam switches. In addition, we design an adaptive beam reconstruction (ABR) mechanism to mitigate communication interruptions caused by prediction errors. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed PPBT-AR reduces the number of beam switches by 66.6% and 76.9% in low-speed and high-speed scenarios compared to the traditional phased array beam tracking algorithm, respectively. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

Bilingual lexicon induction (BLI) can transfer knowledgefrom well- to under- resourced language, and has been widelyapplied to various NLP tasks. Recent work on BLI is projection-based that learns a mapping to connect source and target embedding spaces, with the isomorphism assumption. Unfortunately, the isomorphism assumption doesn't hold gener-ally, especially in typologically distant language pairs. Moreover, without supervised signals guiding, the training will further com-plicates BLI, making the performance of unsupervised methods unsatisfactory. To broke the restrict of isomorphism, we propose a semi-supervised method for distant BLI tasks, named A Semi-supervised Bilingual Lexicon Induction method in Latent Space based on Bidirectional Adversarial Model. First, two latent spaces are learned by two autoencoders for source and target domain independently to weaken the constraint of isomorphism in the embedding spaces. Then we add a few pairs of dictionary to learn the initial mapping to connect the Latent Space. Last, based on initial mapping, Cycle-Consistency is combined with Distance constraint constraint to maintain the geometry structure of both embedding spaces stable in the learning of bi-direction mapping based on adversarial model. By conducting extensive experiments, our method gets state-of-the-art results on most language pairs, especially with significant improvements on distant language pairs.

Explainability is becoming an important topic in artificial intelligence (AI). A well explainable system can increase the trust in the application of that system. The same holds for robotics where the walking gait controller can be some AI system. We will show that a simple and explainable controller that enables an energy efficient walking gait and can handle uneven terrains, can be developed by a well structured design method. The main part of the controller consist of three simple neural networks with 4, 6 and 8 neurons. So, although creating a stable and energy efficient walking gait is a complex problem, it can be generated without some deep neural network or some complex mathematical model. © 2019 for this paper by its authors.

There is a plenitude of software programs to analyze data sets using notions from formal concept analysis (FCA). For example, there are 64 FCA related projects listed on GitHub. Those are developed in ten different programming languages and provide tools and libraries for computing formal concepts and alike. The research tool conexp-clj sticks out in this list. It is the only application in the FCA realm developed using the programming language Clojure, which is a modern, dynamic, and functional dialect of the Lisp programming language running on the Java platform. We summarize in this work the extensive set of notions from FCA that are covered by conexp-clj, show recent developments, present simple examples on a real world data set and depict a timeline for our next goals. USER: A unified information search and recommendation model based on integrated behavior sequence

Search and recommendation are the two most common approaches used by people to obtain information. They share the same goal - satisfying the user's information need at the right time. There are already a lot of Internet platforms and Apps providing both search and recommendation services, showing us the demand and opportunity to simultaneously handle both tasks. However, most platforms consider these two tasks independently - they tend to train separate search model and recommendation model, without exploiting the relatedness and dependency between them. In this paper, we argue that jointly modeling these two tasks will benefit both of them and finally improve overall user satisfaction. We investigate the interactions between these two tasks in the specific information content service domain. We propose first integrating the user's behaviors in search and recommendation into a heterogeneous behavior sequence, then utilizing a joint model for handling both tasks based on the unified sequence. More specifically, we design the Unified Information SEarch and Recommendation model (USER), which mines user interests from the integrated sequence and accomplish the two tasks in a unified way. Experiments on a dataset from a real-world information content service platform verify that our model outperforms separate search and recommendation baselines. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. Extracting emergency events from a large amount of unstructured information is essential for improving early warning and emergency response. Existing event extraction methods for specialist fields often rely on well-designed syntactic dependencies or external knowledge graphs, which can provide high accuracy in their specialist fields. However, these approaches may have poor generalization capabilities and are difficult to apply directly to the emergency field. In addition, most existing methods ignore the interdependencies between event triggers and event arguments, which may be crucial semantic features for event extraction. To solve these problems, we propose a Chinese emergent event extraction method based on contrastive learning with event semantic features(CNEmergEE). Firstly, the proposed approach automatically expands the pre-trained model’s vocabulary on a domain corpus. Then, continuing learning on the same corpus allows the model to complete domain adaptation. Finally, we use contrast learning to enable models to learn semantic representations of events. Experimental results on the CEC (Chinese Emergency Corpus) dataset show that our approach achieves better improvement.

Multimodal Sentiment Analysis (MSA) is an attractive research that aims to integrate sentiment expressed in textual, visual, and acoustic signals. There are two main problems in the existing methods: 1) the dominant role of the text is underutilization in unaligned multimodal data, and 2) the modality under uncertain missing feature is not sufficiently explored. This paper proposes a Text-guided Reconstruction Network (TgRN) for MSA with uncertain missing modalities in non-aligned sequences. The TgRN network includes three primary modules: Text-guided Extraction Module (TEM), Reconstruction Module (RM) and Text-guided Fusion Module (TFM). First, the TEM consists of the text-guided cross attention units and self-attention units to capture inter-modal features and intra-modal features, respectively. Second, leveraging enhanced attention units and a three-way squeeze-and-excitation block, the RM is designed to learn semantic information from incomplete data and reconstruct missing modality features. Third, the TFM utilizes a progressive modality-mixing adaptation gate to explore the dynamic correlations between nonverbal and verbal modalities, effectively addressing the modality gap issue. Finally, under the supervision of sentiment prediction loss and reconstruction loss, the TgRN effectively processes both uncertain missing-modality conditions and ideal complete modality conditions. Extensive experiments on CMU-MOSI and CH-SIMS demonstrate that our proposed method outperforms state-of-the-art approaches. © 2010-2012 IEEE.
