This paper presents a new OWL RL ontology, the Reasoning Violations Ontology (RVO), which describes both ABox and TBox reasoning errors produced by DL reasoners. This is to facilitate the integration of reasoners into dataengineering tool-chains. The ontology covers violations of OWL 2 direct semantics and syntax detected on both the schema and instance level over the full range of OWL 2 and RDFS language constructs. Thus it is useful for reporting results to other tools when a reasoner is applied to linked data, RDFS vocabularies or OWL ontologies, for example for quality evaluations such as consistency, completeness or integrity. RVO supports supervised or semi-supervised error localisation and repair by defining properties that both identify the statement or triple where a violation is detected, and by providing context information on the violation which may help the repair process. In a case study we show how the ontology can be used by a reasoner and a supervised repair process to accelerate high quality ontology development and provide automated constraint checking feedback on instance data. RVO is also being used to enable integration of reasoning results into multi-vendor data quality tool chains within the ALIGNED H2020 project.

Most ontology mapping research has focused on the matching of ontologies written in the same natural language, and developing tools and techniques that support this monolingual ontology mapping process. However, as knowledge modelling is not restricted to the usage of a single natural language, mapping systems must be able to operate upon ontologies that are labelled in diverse natural languages. This paper outlines a semanticoriented cross-lingual ontology mapping framework that makes use of several information sources to influence the selection of ontology label translations in the process of generating high quality mapping results, and presents a high-level overview of the evaluation strategy of the proposed framework.

The issues relating to security have wider scope than the technical details of computer system structure. In larger organisations the security problems become more complex since there are more requirements for data access management. The information associated with security management needs to be well organised. In this paper we present the first step in creating an Enterprise IT Security data Model. The aim of this research is to create a model that is able to capture the information needed by the security management in the provision of adequate security for an Enterprise.

A key problem in supporting multilingual information retrieval and digital content management is reasoning about overlapping context domains. Ontologies are currently emerging as representation techniques for overlapping complimentary context domains. To date, research has focused on the mappings of monolingual ontologies, however, the issue of mapping ontologies written in different natural languages is relatively unexplored at the moment. This paper discusses challenges in the area of multilingual ontology mapping and proposes the semantic oriented mapping for multilingual ontologies (SOMMO) framework to advance the state of the art in multilingual ontology mapping. The SOMMO framework aims to improve multilingual ontology mapping results generated from existing monolingual ontology matching techniques by evaluating the semantics embedded in both the source and target ontologies.
