This paper investigates pervasiveness effect of information technology on the technological progress of logistics in China. Using panel data of 30-regions in China during 2008 to 2020, we propose both static and dynamic panel data models, and find both resource level and spreading rate of information technology have negative influences on technological progress of logistics. The resource level of information technology has a short-term effect on technological progress of logistics, whereas the spreading rate of information technology has a long-term effect. Moreover, the result reveals that the discordant problem of information construction of logistics between resource level and spreading rate cause the negative influence of information technology.

With the high mortality rate for the cases of malignant tumors, the discovery and early treatment of cancer is critical to improving the 5-year survival rate of cancer. The biggest challenge in control and prevention is how to detect tumors as early as possible, so that the most effective means can be used for treatment. With the help of the WOS database, researchers found that liquid biopsy, genetic material/protein expression and computer imaging play an important role in cancer detection. Through analysis of the history and current status of cancer detection technology development, this paper also aims to provide guidance for the clinical practice of current cancer screening and provide inspiration for future technological development. © 2019 Association for Computing Machinery.

Triplet learning, i.e. learning from triplet data, has attracted much attention in computer vision tasks with an extremely large number of categories, e.g., face recognition and person re-identification. Albeit with rapid progress in designing and applying triplet learning algorithms, there is a lacking study on the theoretical understanding of their generalization performance. To fill this gap, this paper investigates the generalization guarantees of triplet learning by leveraging the stability analysis. Specifically, we establish the first general high-probability generalization bound for the triplet learning algorithm satisfying the uniform stability, and then 1 obtain the excess risk bounds of the order (Equation presented). for both stochastic gradient descent (SGD) and regularized risk minimization (RRM), where 2n is approximately equal to the number of training samples. Moreover, an optimistic generalization bound in expectation as fast as O(n−1) is derived for RRM in a low noise case via the on-average stability analysis. Finally, our results are applied to triplet metric learning to characterize its theoretical underpinning. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Background: The widespread use of electronic health records in the clinical and biomedical fields makes the removal of protected health information (PHI) essential to maintain privacy. However, a significant portion of information is recorded in unstructured textual forms, posing a challenge for deidentification. In multilingual countries, medical records could be written in a mixture of more than one language, referred to as code mixing. Most current clinical natural language processing techniques are designed for monolingual text, and there is a need to address the deidentification of code-mixed text. Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness and underlying mechanism of fine-tuned pretrained language models (PLMs) in identifying PHI in the code-mixed context. Additionally, we aimed to evaluate the potential of prompting large language models (LLMs) for recognizing PHI in a zero-shot manner. Methods: We compiled the first clinical code-mixed deidentification data set consisting of text written in Chinese and English. We explored the effectiveness of fine-tuned PLMs for recognizing PHI in code-mixed content, with a focus on whether PLMs exploit naming regularity and mention coverage to achieve superior performance, by probing the developed models’ outputs to examine their decision-making process. Furthermore, we investigated the potential of prompt-based in-context learning of LLMs for recognizing PHI in code-mixed text. Results: The developed methods were evaluated on a code-mixed deidentification corpus of 1700 discharge summaries. We observed that different PHI types had preferences in their occurrences within the different types of language-mixed sentences, and PLMs could effectively recognize PHI by exploiting the learned name regularity. Social Group Query Based on Multi-fuzzy-constrained Strong Simulation

Traditional social group analysis mostly uses interaction models, event models, or other methods to identify and distinguish groups. This type of method can divide social participants into different groups based on their geographic location, social relationships, and/or related events. However, in some applications, it is necessary to make more specific restrictions on the members and the interaction between members of the group. Generally, graph pattern matching (GPM) is used to solve this problem. However, the existing GPM methods rarely consider the rich contextual information of nodes and edges to measure the credibility between members. In this paper, a social group query problem that needs to consider the trust between members of the group is proposed. To solve this problem, we propose a Strong Simulation GPM algorithm (NTSS) based on the exploration of pattern Node Topological ordered sequence. Aiming at the inefficiency of the NTSS algorithm when matching pattern graph with multiple nodes with zero in-degree and the problem of repeated calculation of matched edges shared by multiple matching subgraphs, two optimization strategies are proposed. Finally, we conduct verification experiments on the effectiveness and efficiency of the NTSS algorithm and the algorithms with the optimization strategies on four social network datasets in real applications. Experimental results show that the NTSS algorithm is significantly better than the existing multi-constrained GPM algorithm, and the NTSS_Inv_EdgC algorithm, which combines two optimization strategies, greatly improves the efficiency of the NTSS algorithm. An MRC Framework for Semantic Role Labeling

Semantic Role Labeling (SRL) aims at recognizing the predicate-argument structure of a sentence and can be decomposed into two subtasks: predicate disambiguation and argument labeling. Prior work deals with these two tasks independently, which ignores the semantic connection between the two tasks. In this paper, we propose to use the machine reading comprehension (MRC) framework to bridge this gap. We formalize predicate disambiguation as multiple-choice machine reading comprehension, where the descriptions of candidate senses of a given predicate are used as options to select the correct sense. The chosen predicate sense is then used to determine the semantic roles for that predicate, and these semantic roles are used to construct the query for another MRC model for argument labeling. In this way, we are able to leverage both the predicate semantics and the semantic role semantics for argument labeling. We also propose to select a subset of all the possible semantic roles for computational efficiency. An incremental method of feature selection based on mutual information, called incremental Max-Relevance, and Min-Redundancy (I-mRMR), is presented. I-mRMR is an incremental version of Max-Relevance, and Min-Redundancy feature selection (mRMR), which is used to handle streaming data or large-scale data. First, Incremental Key Instance Set is proposed which composes of the non-distinguished instances by the historical selected features. Second, an incremental feature selection algorithm is designed in which the incremental key instance set, replacing of all the seen instances so far, is used in the process of adding representative features. Since the Incremental Key Instance Set is far less than the whole instances, the incremental feature selection by using this key set avoids redundant computation and save computation time and space. Finally, the experimental results show that I-mRMR could significantly or even dramatically reduce the time of feature selection with an acceptable classification accuracy. © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Research Purpose: The distributed, traceable and security of blockchain technology are applicable to the construction of new government information resource models, which could eliminate the barn effect and trust in government information sharing, as well as promoting the transformation of government affairs from management to service, it is also of great significance to the sharing of government information and construction of service-oriented e-government. Propose Methods: By analyzing the current problems of government information sharing, combined with literature research, this paper proposes the theoretical framework and advantages of blockchain technology applied to government information management and sharing, expounds the blockchain-based solution, it also constructs a government information sharing model based on blockchain, and gives implementation strategies at the technical and management levels. Results and Conclusion: The government information sharing model based on the blockchain solution and the transparency of government information can be used as a research framework for information interaction analysis between the government and users. It can also promote the construction and development of information sharing for Chinese government, as well as providing unified information sharing solution at the departmental and regional levels for e-government. © 2019 IEEE.

Context-Dependent Propagating-Based Video Recommendation in Multimodal Heterogeneous Information Networks

With the emergence of online social networks (OSNs), video recommendation has come to play a crucial role in mitigating the semantic gap between users and videos. Conventional approaches to video recommendation primarily focus on exploiting content features or simple user-video interactions to model the users’ preferences. Although these methods have achieved promising results, they fail to model the complex video context interdependency, which is obscure/hidden in heterogeneous auxiliary data from OSNs. In this paper, we study the problem of video recommendation in Heterogeneous Information Networks (HINs) due to its excellence in characterizing heterogeneous and complex context information. We propose a Context-Dependent Propagating Recommendation network (CDPRec) to obtain accurate video embedding and capture global context cues among videos in HINs. The CDPRec can iteratively propagate the contexts of a video along links in a graph-structured HIN and explore multiple types of dependencies among the surrounding video nodes. Then, each video is represented as the composition of the multimodal content feature and global dependency structure information using an attention network. The learned video embedding with sequential based recommendation are jointly optimized for the final rating prediction. Experimental results on real-world YouTube video recommendation scenarios demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods compared with strong baselines.

Hierarchical GAN-Tree and Bi-Directional Capsules for multi-label image classification

Compared with the flat multi-label image classification, the hierarchical structure reserves a richer source of structural information to represent complicated relationships between labels in the real world. However, existing multi-label image classification methods focus on the accuracy of label prediction, ignoring the structural information embedded in the hierarchical label space. Furthermore, they hardly form the relevant visual feature space corresponding to the hierarchical label structure. In this paper, we propose a novel hierarchical framework based on the feature and label structural information named Hierarchical GAN-Tree and Bi-Directional Capsules (HGT&BC) to address these problems. We conduct Hierarchical GAN-Tree for feature space representation and Hierarchical Bi-Directional Capsules for label space classification, respectively. Hierarchical GAN-Tree generates hierarchical feature space using the unsupervised divisive clustering pattern according to the hierarchical structure, alleviating the mode-collapse of generators and the overfitting manifestation of conventional GANs. Hierarchical Bi-Directional Capsules utilize the hierarchical label structure in iterations of top-down and bottom-up processes: the top-down process integrates hierarchical relationships into the probability computation to enhance partial hierarchical relationships;the bottom-up process modifies the dynamic routing mechanism between capsules to represent semantic objects for the comprehensive global hierarchical classifiers. Owing to the two components, HGT&BC successfully expresses the hierarchical relationships in both feature and label space and improves the performance of multi-label image classification. Extensive experimental results on four benchmark datasets demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of our hierarchical framework in practice. © 2021 Elsevier B.V.
