knowledge transfer is an important type of knowledge service. Based on existing studies on knowledge transfer between employees, this paper builds a research model of factors affecting the pre-retiree's intention to transfer knowledge to the younger employee. data collected from 4 leaders and 7 pre-retirees in different industries through face-to-face interview is used to test and improve the model, then we gain a theoretical model which posits that the pre-retiree's knowledge transfer intention is influenced by the pre-retiree's perceptions of younger employees and emotions to organization, the younger employee's attitudes towards pre-retirees, the younger employee's learning intention and ability and work attitudes, communication difference between the pre-retiree and the younger employee. Our results contribute to the improvement of research on pre-retirees' knowledge transfer and have implications for management practices.

In this article we present a human motion detection framework, based on data derived from a single tri-axial accelerometer. The framework uses a set of different pre-processing methods that produce data representations which are respectively parameterized by statistical and physical features. These features are then concatenated and classified using well-known classification algorithms for the problem of motion recognition. Experimental evaluation was carried out according to a subject-dependent scenario, meaning that the classification is performed for each subject separately using their own data and the average accuracy for all individuals is computed. The best achieved detection performance for 14 everyday human motion activities, using the USC-HAD database, was approximately 95%. The results compare favorably are competitive to the best reported performance of 93.1% for the same database.

This paper proposes a two-fold study: (1) to investigate the factors affecting behavior intention of Thai students for choosing Information Technology (IT) program and (2) based on the findings in (1), to make comparison analyses on the IT students versus those of other professional programs. The web-based questionnaire was employed to collect data from a focused set of 200 1styear students, studying in public universities in Thailand. The result of (1), using factor analysis, points out that the factors affecting students' behavioral intention to choose IT program can be categorized into three dimensions: personal characteristics, social influence and IT intention. The result of statistical analyses, incl. ANOVA, show that IT students hold some distinctive values of attitudinal attributes when choosing the program of study. Based on the findings, IT schools are suggested common strategies to attract targeted students and adjust the program's attributes to suit the students.

There is a trend that, virtually everyone, rang- ing from big Web companies to traditional enterprisers to physical science researchers to social scientists, is either al- ready experiencing or anticipating unprecedented growth in the amount of data available in their world, as well as new op- portunities and great untapped value. This paper reviews big data challenges from a data management respective. In partic- ular, we discuss big data diversity, big data reduction, big data integration and cleaning, big data indexing and query, and fi- nally big data analysis and mining. Our survey gives a brief overview about big-data-oriented research and problems.

Wireless sensor network is an important part of the Internet of Things. Preservation of privacy and integrity in wireless sensor networks is extremely urgent and challenging. To address this problem, we propose in this paper an efficient and secure range query protocol in two-tiered wireless sensor networks introducing master nodes. Our proposal not only prevents adversaries from gaining sensitive information of both queries issued by users and data collected by sensor nodes but also allows the sink to verify whether results are valid. It offers confidentiality of queries and data by constructing a special code, provides integrity verification by the correlation among data and also enables efficient query processing. Finally, theoretical analysis and simulation results confirm the security and efficiency of our proposal.

Background: The sustainable development goals (SDGs) aim to end HIV/AIDS as a public health threat by 2030. Understanding the current state of the HIV epidemic and its change over time is essential to this effort. This study assesses the current sex-specific HIV burden in 204 countries and territories and measures progress in the control of the epidemic. Methods: To estimate age-specific and sex-specific trends in 48 of 204 countries, we extended the Estimation and Projection Package Age-Sex Model to also implement the spectrum paediatric model. We used this model in cases where age and sex specific HIV-seroprevalence surveys and antenatal care-clinic sentinel surveillance data were available. For the remaining 156 of 204 locations, we developed a cohort-incidence bias adjustment to derive incidence as a function of cause-of-death data from vital registration systems. The incidence was input to a custom Spectrum model. To assess progress, we measured the percentage change in incident cases and deaths between 2010 and 2019 (threshold >75% decline), the ratio of incident cases to number of people living with HIV (incidence-to-prevalence ratio threshold <0·03), and the ratio of incident cases to deaths (incidence-to-mortality ratio threshold <1·0). Findings: In 2019, there were 36·8 million (95% uncertainty interval [UI] 35·1–38·9) people living with HIV worldwide. There were 0·84 males (95% UI 0·78–0·91) per female living with HIV in 2019, 0·99 male infections (0·91–1·10) for every female infection, and 1·02 male deaths (0·95–1·10) per female death. Global progress in incident cases and deaths between 2010 and 2019 was driven by sub-Saharan Africa (with a 28·52% decrease in incident cases, 95% UI 19·58–35·43, and a 39·66% decrease in deaths, 36·49–42·36). Elsewhere, the incidence remained stable or increased, whereas deaths generally decreased. Investigating information needs of elderly people could find out information required to address needs of the aged in a community to present an information service framework to meet their needs. Using data collected from 600 elderly people through field investigation with a questionnaire in a rural community in central China, the results show that the preferred information format of the vast majority of elderly people is audio and/or visual information product, especially audio product. Most of interviewees stated that they were in need of healthy and medical audio information products. The survey maybe lead to improved and expanded information services for respondents who are short of such services, including Public broadcasting services, extending the audiovisual collection, loaning audiovisuals, religious faith audiovisuals and others providing needed information to them. This paper assembles together views on what the elderly people currently need to be helped by both practitioners and researchers in the elderly people services domain.

Due to the rapid growth of social net services (SNSs), research into SNSs continuance usage has recently emerged as an important issue in information systems adaption. This study develops an integrated model based on the expectation-confirmation model (ECM), the technology acceptance model (TAM), and the theory of planned behavior (TPB), and apply them into the context of older adults' continuance intention toward SNSs. The hypothesized model is validated empirically using a sample collected from 250 older adults who had prior experience with SNSs and was tested against the proposed research model using structure equation modeling. Analysis results demonstrate that satisfaction has the most significant effect on older adults' continuance intention, followed by perceived usefulness, attitude, subject norm and perceived behavioral control. The results of these findings for SNSs practitioners are discussed at the end of this work.

Online shopping has been accepted by more and more consumers. C2C websites provide thousands of offers for consumers as a mainstream e-commerce platform. When customers search products in C2C website, some returned offers have misleading description. Misleading description means that the description does not convey the actual price of products, but usually claiming much lower price for the purpose of attracting more consumers. The misleading offers affect consumers' judgments and bring bad influences on the websites' reputation. This paper proposes an approach that combines statistical model HMM with statistical outlier detection method to detect misleading offers. HMM model is built to determine the product that an offer description really designates, providing an efficient solution to eliminate the ambiguity of the offer description caused by description irregularities. The statistical outlier detection method is effective to deal with limited product offer information. The paper further conducts experiments on real data set of electric business websites and the results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. ©2014 ISCAS.
