He was the Design Manager for the Engineering and Design Phase ofthe Enhanced Maritime Prepositioning Fme Ship (MPF(E)). Cuwently Mt: M2.zumdar is Deputy Ship Design Manager in NAVSEA 030 for the LHD and LSD classes of ships. Mr. Mazumdar was awarded a BSE in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1981 and an MS in Computer Science fiom Virginia Tech in 1988. He also possesses an International ChiejEngineer License (Motot unlimited). Mr. Mancmdar has been an Associate Member of WAME since 1981. James C. Sandison:is a Senior Ship Design Manager (SDM) for surface ships in the Nawl Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA03D3C). He has a long tem practical background in design construction and testing of surface ships. Starting in NAVSEC as a diving and salvage systems engineer for the Bathyscaph TRIESTE he has been involved with most ofthe Nays Mine Warfare and Auxiliary ships from naval architect to the present Senior Ship Design Manager for the Strategic Sealift Program. Mr: Sandison entered the U.S. Navy in 1956 in the (diesel) Submarine Service. Afterward he “went to sea in sailing ships and completed an apprenticeship as a wooden shipbuildex. In 1971 he graduated from the University of Michigan with a BSE in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering and was employed by NAVSEC. His latest additional duties have been as engineering coordinator on board the USS CONSTITUTION for her 200th anniversary sail. Mr. Sandison is a member of SNAME ASNE and the U.S. Naval Institute. Gill:is a Senior Engineer with GEO-CENTERS incorporated in Pittsburgh PA where he provides technical and administrative support to the Naval Sea Systems Command (SEA 03L1) and the Carderock Division of the Naval Surfme Waflare Center (Code a) principal& on the shipboard and submarine solid waste management programs. Prior to joining GEO-CENTERS incorporated in 1996 he worked for eleven years at the Carderock Division of the Naval Surfme Warfare Center as a project engineer and a Branch Head. Mr. Goodnow worked for the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company in both the Electric Operations Department and the Electric Construction Department utilizing his background in electrical power until 1985 when he began to work for the Navy. For the past ten years he has been heavily involved in shipboard power distribution systems design and improvement. He is a graduate of the Naval Academy who served as a surface warfare officer. After completion of his graduate education at MIT he became an Engineering Duty Officer and served at Boston Naval Shipyard in several capacities. He was the Repair Facilities Advisor to the Vietnamese Navy the Project Officer for construction of nuclear powered guided missile cruisers (CGNs) at the Supervisor of Shipbuilding Newport News Virginia and served on the staff of the Commander Naval Surface Forces U.S. Atlantic Fleet and later at the Supervisor of Shipbuilding in Portsmouth Virginia in maintenance and overhaul management positions. He was Officer in Charge of the Annapolis Laboratory of the David Taylor Research Center and Commanding Officer of the Engineering Duty Officer School. He retired from active duty in October 1991 after serving in the Naval Sea Systems Command as the Director of the Ship Design Group and of the Advanced Concepts and Technology Group. Lt. Jeffrey S. Riedel USN:is an Engineering Duty Officer currently assigned to the Supervisor of Shipbuilding Bath Maine. He obtained his B.S. degree in Marine Engineering from Maine Maritime Academy in 1986 and his M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering plus a Mechanical Engineer's degree from the Naval Postgraduate School in 1993. Lt. Riedel's naval career has included duty aboaqrd USS Wainwright (CG 28) as auxiliaries officer damage control assistant and main machinery officer. Currently he serves as the assistant production officer at SUPSHIP Bath in charge of DDG 51 class construction and delivery.

Before coming to SpaWar Mr. Biondi was head of the Combat Support Systems Integration Division (NavSea 61X1) of the Naval Sea Systems Command. While at the Naval Ship Engineering Center he was project engineer for the Naval Tactical Data System display system and the AN/SPS-48 radar eventually becoming the head of the Radar Branch in NavSEC/NavSea. He received his B.S.E.E. from the University of Illinois and did postgraduate work at the George Washington University. Barbara A. Keller:is the head of the New Construction (SCN) Ship Communications Design and Integration Branch (PMW-152–31) of SpaWar. She previously was head of the Combatant Ship Radio Communications System Design Branch. Ms. Keller has also served as radio communications system design manager for the DDG-51 class and she has held similar positions for the CVN-68 T-AO-187 and AOE-6 programs. He has held other responsible engineering positions at General Dynamics/Electric Boat and several consulting firms. He has been a registered professional engineer with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts since 1966 a member of ASNE since 1978 and a member of SNAME since 1968. Robert W. Erskine:is a naval architect specialist with Ingalls Shipbuilding Inc. in Pascagoula Mississippi. He earned a BSE in naval architecture and marine engineering in 1967 at the University of Michigan and an MBA in management in 1983 at the University of Southern Mississippi. He has 22 years of engineering and managerial experience in the Navy and in the commercial marine industry. He has forty-five years experience in aerospace engineering including responsible research development and engineering positions with the U.S. Navy Lockheed Missile and Space Ford Aerospace NASA and as a consultant for Arthur D.
