Geological exploration is essential for economic and social progress, with lithology identification being a key technology that improves exploration precision and resource development efficiency. This paper presents a real-time identification method of formation lithology in drilling process based on pre-training language model, which is divided into three stages. In this first stage, the drilling data undergoes rigorous cleaning, feature selection, and normalization to eliminate noise and anomalies. In the second stage, key model inputs such as weight on bit (WOB), rate of penetration (ROP), rotation speed (RPM), torque, and pump volume (P) are identified through detailed drilling mechanism analysis. In the last stage, a real-time identification method of formation lithology in drilling process based on pre-training language model is proposed, which realizes high-precision real-time identification in drilling process. The effectiveness of the proposed method is proved by comparison with common methods. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper deals with an intelligent decision-making strategy of energy management for a smart grid within an element storage in order to reduce the system cost and improve its reliability. Indeed, the integration of distributed energy storage devices allows the customers to store energy and reuse at a later time or delayed some appliances operation according to a time-varying price signal. The adopted strategy is based on an artificial intelligence control algorithm 'fuzzy logic'. The main objective is to determine the appropriate source (grid or battery) used for meeting the consumer. The decision solution shows the system reliability where the switches are synchronized. Switches draw electricity from the grid for both load and battery when price is low and in contrary when electricity price is high, we find a variation's price correspondance with the switch drawing electricity from the battery. The obtained results are verified carrying out Matlab simulation using real data such as the electricity price (Price (t)) and the battery state of charge (SOC (t)). © 2023 IEEE.

Ensuring the safety of workers in hazardous environments is crucial, given the potential severity of accidents. Indeed, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety helmets, vests, and boots, is vital in mitigating risks. However, adherence to PPE usage often falls short due to inadequate safety awareness among workers. To address this challenge, we aim to develop a robust safety monitoring system by leveraging advancements in deep learning and object detection technology. Our proposed method uses YOLOv7 and YOLOv8 algorithms for real-time detection and classification of safety equipment, including helmets, vests, and boots. For this aim, we carefully collect and annotate datasets from diverse sources like Roboflow and Kaggle. Then, we accurately evaluate performance metrics such as precision, recall, and speed through rigorous training and testing of various YOLOv7 and YOLOv8 configurations on annotated data batches. By conducting thorough comparative analyses, we aim to identify the most effective model for each PPE category, considering both detection accuracy and computational efficiency. Finally, the object detection system is deployed through a web interface to determine whether a person is protected or not.

Alarm systems are core components in large complex industrial facilities to ensure safe and efficient operation. Traditional univariate alarm system design methods ignore the correlation of process variables and thus may generate massive false alarms and missed alarms. An effective way of designing a multivariate alarm system is to establish the normal operating zones (NOZs) based on historical data under normal conditions. These NOZs serve as the basis for setting alarm limits in multivariate alarm systems. Given that the actual correlations between related variables are frequently unknown, a robust modeling approach is necessary to effectively handle both convex and non-convex NOZs. Thus, this paper presents a systematic method for nonconvex operating zone establishment and alarm limit design for multivariate alarm systems. A multivariate non-convex NOZ is established based on grid clustering. Then, the multidimensional grid boundary is extracted and used to determine the alarm limits for real-time samples. A numerical example is used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2024 Technical Committee on Control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

As an essential component of modern industry, steel strips play an indispensable role in various fields and serve as a crucial raw material in industrial production. However, due to various factors such as production technology, the surface of steel strips often exhibits unavoidable defects like scratches and crazings. Therefore, implementing online surface quality inspection for steel strips is one effective way to enhance product quality and production efficiency. This paper proposes a detection method for surface defects in steel strips based on YOLO. By optimizing the network structure of YOLOv5s, the performance on the NEU-DET dataset has improved by nearly 4 % compared to the original network's mAP value. Experimental results indicate that the detection performance of this method is significantly superior to the current mainstream lightweight detection networks. © 2024 Technical Committee on Control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

Industrial alarm systems play crucial roles in assessing the production status and ensuring process safety. However, the presence of alarm floods can make alarm systems partially or fully fail, and thus would cause serious consequences. Alarm prediction, as an advanced approach to address alarm floods, offers operators decision supports when an alarm flood occurs. Existing alarm prediction methods requires that the output alarm sequences are of a fixed dimension, making such methods unable to adapt to the changing alarm rate. Accordingly, this paper proposes an alarm prediction model based on Transformer. The proposed model can predict alarm sequences with variational dimensions and can also achieve remarkable accuracy. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by a case study with data from the Vinyl Acetate Monomer (VAM) simulation model. © 2024 Technical Committee on Control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

Recently, the use of neural radiance fields (NeRF) for three-dimensional reconstruction of humans has achieved high-quality view rendering. However, existing methods often rely on multiple or single videos as input, requiring dense images, and the rendering quality tends to be poor with sparse image inputs. To address this issue, this paper proposes a novel method that solely utilizes sparse images captured by a single camera to create an animatable human neural radiance field, enabling the rendering of high-fidelity human images under arbitrary novel viewpoints and poses. Specifically, our method utilizes body poses and multi-view feature to build a deformable neural radiance field, and employs frequency-segmented positional encoding to mitigate overfitting during training process. Extensive quantitative and qualitative experiments demonstrate that our proposed method outperforms prior works. © 2024 Technical Committee on Control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

Computing offload is a key technology in mobile edge computing (MEC). By offloading tasks to the edge servers, it solves the problem that terminal devices in the edge network cannot handle high computing and time sensitive tasks. However, in multi-user scenarios, the resources of edge servers are very limited, and without good offloading decisions, the performance of MEC systems cannot be guaranteed. In this paper, the computation offloading problem of multi-user MEC system is analyzed and modeled and a batch offloading method is proposed. And in response to the shortcomings of the existing algorithms, a neural network combined with genetic algorithm for offloading decision is proposed. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm performs better than existing algorithms in terms of time complexity and accuracy. © 2024 Technical Committee on Control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

CDM: Contact Diffusion Model for Multi-Contact Point Localization

In this paper, we propose a Contact Diffusion Model (CDM), a novel learning-based approach for multi-contact point localization. We consider a robot equipped with joint torque sensors and a force/torque sensor at the base. By leveraging a diffusion model, CDM addresses the singularity where multiple pairs of contact points and forces produce identical sensor measurements. We formulate CDM to be conditioned on past model outputs to account for the time-dependent characteristics of the multi-contact scenarios. Moreover, to effectively address the complex shape of the robot surfaces, we incorporate the signed distance field in the denoising process. Consequently, CDM can localize contacts at arbitrary locations with high accuracy. Simulation and real-world experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. In particular, CDM operates at 15.97ms and, in the real world, achieves an error of 0.44cm in single-contact scenarios and 1.24cm in dual-contact scenarios. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. Currently, the advanced geological prediction for the main tunnel from the parallel tunnel often employs parallel deduction of detection conclusions, which faces issues such as a lack of diverse geological exploration information, a lack of analysis of geological structures and poor accuracy. In this paper, an integrated prediction method for unfavorable geology in main tunnel considering the geological conditions of parallel tunnel is proposed, which consists of three stages. In the first stage, based on the forecast mileage range and tunnel excavation conditions, the process is divided into four specific cases. In the second stage, it deduces the geology of the main tunnel along the orientation of rock strata occurrence or joint to parallel tunnel and selects the results of the rock strata occurrence or joint deduction according to the distance of the deduction. In the last stage, it deduces the geological conditions of parallel tunnel face and the integration of geophysical and drilling information for predictive conclusions based on the four specific cases. The proposed method offers higher prediction accuracy for rock mass integrity and surrounding rock grades compared to parallel deduction method. © 2024 IEEE.
